ah just returned from Oakwood park knackered and with the kids full of McDonalds! to be honest look its my blog, i've just started it and it reflects my thoughts - just like millions of others out there. i'm a muppet with technology and couldn't find where my blog was so i mentioned it on here - which seemed like the only relevant place. as for patronising, i've had plenty of feedback that says otherwise but if thats your opinion then hey. i had no intention of being a condasending bloke trying to teach you wimmin to cook - it actually hurts me to think that - honest. just wanted to contribute and do you know what i think i can so you don't scare me. and also, i dont want your pity but lay off with the foul mouthed abuse and digs at grammar, 'advice' i can deal with but i have some literacy difficulties and have overcome a huge obstacle to become to teacher and find it offensive. anyway hope damage can be undone

Don't sweat it, foodie. You're not a fully fledged member of this forum unless you make a tit of yourself and get flamed. It's like an initiation. Congrats, you came back so you passed! Grin

Good for you for coming back.

I made a comment about your grammar, but I was not sneering at you. It is the way I am - if there are multiple mistakes in a blog post then I tend not to read on. A blog would have to be damn good for me to continue to read it if I am wincing at the writing.

You have a nice chatty writing style, I like that. And I like the recipes that you posted. You could do with some photos (I wrote this on the thread that was deleted, not sure if you saw it).

looking at putting some photos on but new to this and not brilliant at it. its intended to be 'chatty' as oppossed to literary. thanks for your comments.

i've had a right palaver with MN towers. they deleted my thread - ok fine but i'm not sure they are sending new bloggers (that they approve) the correct advice on how to post hence my monumental error of judgement in 'advertising' my blog - i genuinely did what i thought i should be doing! but i don't think anyone wanted to hear that once they'd got their teeth in!

if my blog sounds patronising (god i really don't think it does, my life is female dominated and pride myself on being a feminist) its because i do have an opinion on the state of affairs in the uk regarding food. i am resiliant and passionate and am here to stay!

It's not your blog that people found patronising, it was your post about the blog.

if i think its what you mean, i left school with no gcse's and went to catering college where i excelled. but as an adult i've managed to get a degree (politics) and a postgraduate teaching degree. i had to get my gcse in maths and pass an equivalency exam in english to be able to do this. however, my school days left me feeling i was a 'bit thick' and have had to prove to myself, and others that i'm not, even if my grammar isn't brilliant. I teach technology by the way (food and textiles) and plan my lessons thoroughly and teach with enthusiasm so that kids in my classes have an education they deserve. school needs people from all walks of life.

'Foul mouthed abuse'? Yet you call us 'fuckers'?

I posted on the other thread that I had assumed the blogging section was for bloggers to promote their blogs, but I imagined that MNHQ's intention was that it is for MNers who blogged, not just anyone out in the blogosphere who wanted followers. MN is a community- you get respect by treating others with respect, and earning respect by contributing to that community- you are not doing so as far as I can see.

sorry that was meant to be too, me and my grammar. must stop this childishness now and be a proper community member

It also dosen't help if you go onto other threads who are posting in a normal non-patronising way about their blog and have a bitch at them.

Not nice at all.

There isn't a person on here who hasn't made a knob of themselves at some point.

if your referring to a comment i made yesterday to someone about the fact that they are promoting their blog and i had a thread deleted for doing the same thing then fine. i think i was a little hurt and confused and said it wasn't my intention to be a pain

that's nice to know, i thought it was only me. can't wait to jump on the bandwagon and give someone else a flaming at some point (and conveniently forget the grief i had!)
