Seriously how do you expect to get off if you have blood on your boots and seen kicking and stamping on someone's head on the ground.

I don't know how it is manslaughter, he had footprints on his head. Its just awful and shocking I feel so sorry for his family.

I would say I'm surprised there's not been wider reporting on this, but I'm actually not.

It is absolutely horrific. I'm a Sheffield Wednesday fan and that was how I found out about Atkinson's death, he used to play for us. The sentence is a joke. I didn't even know about the policeman getting blood on his boots. The poor man needed help, not tasing.

You'd think more football fans would be on board with BLM in light of Atkinson's death, surely.e police are supposed

8 years for manslaughter.

Took 5 years for it to come to trial.

But at least it did.

Does it take someone to be famous for there to be some sort of justice?

Too many black men have died when coming into contact with the police. I only heard about Christopher Alder recently . There is video footage of his appalling treatment on the wikipedia page. It is distressing to see. The treatment of Mr Alder from the police beggars belief. The information about his case is hard to read. He was treated inhumanely.

The policemen involved in his death were pensioned off! So they were rewarded an early retirement by using racist language and allowing a man to die in their care !

How did they get off with the cctv footage ? I don’t get it .

DA was ill with kidney issues as well and they still used all that force on him, it is horrific. Kingsley Burrell is another Midlands man, beaten in front of his 4 year old son and later dying.
