greensnail for new thread.

You could try 'don't offer don't refuse' for a while and see how that goes. There's nothing to stop you starting up again with her once your new milk is in, if she's interested then.

Hello, nice new thread! I hope the backaches, SPD, broken sleep and other ailments are improving.

I had another scan last week as the bump was measuring small again. All was well. Phew! On top of that, my OBGYN has agreed not to induce me on my due date (induction is standard practice in this little American town), so I've almost run out of things to fret about.

I've updated the list with my stats.

Good work greensnail on new thread.
Have a fab holiday gibbering!
All quiet in the Monkey house. DH flew to France v.early this morning so it's just me, DD and the dog til monday night.
Had a really lovely day with her - she is loving toddling around the park in her new wellies! She is also quite handy at kicking a ball.

Am enormous. Have gained 22lbs so far and I'm only 23+3. Stupidly bought a giant fruit and nut bar this morning thinking I could make it "last" for a few days. Ho ho ho.....

Report
CantSleepWontSleep · 06/03/2010 21:26

Ooh I love fruit and nut. Bloody ages since I've had any though (due to dairy free-ness and now diabetes). Have a square for me (if there's any left at all!).

Right ladies, I have gone through the stats, and the following people haven't posted anywhere on MN in the past 3 months. I therefore vote to remove them from the stats. I do like a nice tidy list. Would everyone be happy with that?

bambino02
TaffTaff
charlottew
MummyWantsANewBag
SecretLemonadeDrinker
Celery
stac14 (she has posted lots in this time, but on the July thread, so I assume that her date has moved and she just chose not to tell us)
diznom
JBroRo (another one who is posting on July thread instead)

I'm quite certain that there will be more to cull at a later date, but that will do for now!

Its ok with me CSWS, very easy to add people back on if we've made any mistakes!

I had to leave work early on thursday, as I felt really faint. (i have fainted once about 8 weeks ago or more). I just couldnt breath properly and my bump felt really hard and burny at the top. Any one else felt like this? I went and had some bloods taken yesterday, one for the iron level I think so be good to get that checked out.

Thanks for your wishes sent over the last few weeks re my poor Sister. It'll take some time, as I keep breaking down and crying, but I suppose that's to be expected.

Morning all great new thread title thanks greensnail Hope everyone is well and having a good weekend. I actually socialised last night,we hosted a poker night at our house, didnt win but it was great fun

justbeme you maybe a little stressed still because of whats happened? Although i do feel faint and dizzy at work if i'm standing for too long,i think its a common symptom,as is hardening of the bump, mine feels like a basketball most days.

Hi all

Just marking my place.

Everything chugging along nicely in the Noodles household - just watching DH put together some shelves from IKEA and trying not to interfere....

Thanks for organising the new thread Greensnail.

Can't believe we're in March already! I'm definitely starting to feel like my lungs/stomach are getting squished up now too.

Ooo! Hello! Racing away already, I see.

Greensnail - How old is DD (not that it really makes a difference)? I second the 'don't offer, don't refuse' approach, but if you don't feel ready, and you've not got hte medical information yet to know if your hand will be forced, why not just go gently gently for a while?

DD self-weaned from three good feeds a day to none in a week. If she didn't ask I didn't lift my shirt! She didn't think about it for 2 weeks and then saw a slightly older child feeding and asked quite a lot. i just distracted her. She is still totally obsessed with my boobs and often asks for milk, but now it just means me lifting my top and her having a scooch. I was totally and quite sad (she was 19 months) but I decided that I was never actually going to feel positiviely happy about it, so then was as good a time as any. And we were TTC with not much luck too - and I got pg the next month, so overall, quite a good experience.

imkeepingmum · 07/03/2010 16:36

CSWS agree on reducing the stats list

NizzyNoodles I know what you mean about everything getting squished! Plus baby was breech at 20 week scan and suspect still is given that all movement is very low down and quite often is clearly kicking or sitting on my bladder, oh joy. Last night it had the hiccups I think which was quite a funny feeling, went on for ages! DH to be is now able to feel the kicks so he's very pleased and feeling like he's bonding with the baby a bit more now.

Braved the NCT sale and managed to get enough nice baby gros/vests etc for when the baby first arrives, we'll worry about other clothes as it grows and I suspect we are likely to get lots as presents anyway. Also picked up a carrier/sling for £5 which is in great condition but no knowing whether it will suit until baby is born really unless I can find a small baby to practice with I suppose if it doesn't it was hardly a lot of money to spend.

Report
greensnail · 07/03/2010 19:32

LaTrucha She's 14 months and still very much my baby! Its going to be a big shock for us all when the new baby arrives I'm sure. I think you're both right, and "don't offer, don't refuse" is the way to go at the moment. Its basically what I've been doing during the day anyway, and only offering at bedtime. Anyway, she's obviously got wind of my plans and has had 3 feeds today and wasn't at all impressed when I didn't automatically offer milk at bedtime. Will have to see how it goes over the next few days.

I've been feeling pretty grotty today, just exhausted really but am anaemic so that probably explains that. Also got a sudden pain in my groin when at the swings with DD earlier and have been hobbling around a bit since so am hoping that's nothing serious. I feel like I've been full of nothing but moans for days - must try and be more positive next week.

Good night everyone. It has been a long time I last posted (had too many things to worry and organize).
greensnail - good job on the new tread.

Bump is getting big and is hard to keep with the normal life. I have to learn to slow down and relax more.

Does anyone have contractions from time to time? I am having from time to time and it feels uncomfortable. And also the heartburn has started to appear on a regular basis. Any help on that?

Report
MonkeyMargot · 07/03/2010 20:23

bobolana I feel your pain with the heartburn. The only food which seems to help is yoghurt for some reason. I made the error of eating some spicy cornish pasties yesterday. Not good!

greensnail good luck with the weaning. The don't offer/don't refuse philosophy seems emminently sensible.

CSWS fruit and nut all polished off. I thought of you though as I ate the last piece

monkeymargot thanks for the advice. It is just too many thing happening at the same time - heartburn, back pain, swollen legs, getting tired, can't sleep, oooph, for a first pregnancy it is a lot. Try fitting full time work, catering for your DH, taking driving lessons, looking after the house.... Ladies, I don't how you do it with one or more extra kids on your way.

I am sorry, it is just one of this days where everything seems black and miserable.

Report
MonkeyMargot · 07/03/2010 20:39

bobolana we all have bad days. Hope tomorrow is better for you. When you are feeling a bit better, try and do something to really cheer yourself up, something you won't have time to do for a while once bambino arrives. Have a facial/massage or go to the cinema - and take pleasure in these small things. Chin up gal! As Scarlett O'Hara said, tomorrow is another day.

Welcome NGUE .

Yes, def make the most of having long soaks in the bath and going to the toilet alone those of you having your first. I can't remember the last time that I got to do either.

A large bottle of Gaviscon is my recommendation for heartburn. I've only had it a couple of times so far this pregnancy, but bought a bottle today in anticipation!
