Just catching up on the posts from the last thread.

Flyingma - totally agree with you on the baby movements front. They need to be the same frequency. I guess what I have found is that the further along I get in the pregnancy, the more attention I need to give to the movements to notice them. They are definitely more muffled. Have spent today doing nothing and felt the baby move loads, so have no concerns at all. But am definitely ready for this baby to come! Why oh why does willpower alone not get things going?

London - poor you! Sounds as though you really do have your hands full at the moment.

WMDO - I think it must be such a shock to the system when the baby arrives. I know that the early weeks with DS are a distant memory (or nightmare ). It is going to be tough to be waking all hours for feeds again. I think the shock for our partners must be more since they havent been pregnant. Does that make sense?

CTFN - great to hear from you. I hate the heel prick thing. cannot believe that is what they have to do to get the test done!

Ali - am thinking of you. Hoping little Jaocb is ok.

Hello to everyone else. Wonder who the first addition to Jan and this thread will be??

Hello everyone, hope you are all well.

congrats and to those whose babies are already here. I have definately had enough now.

My DP is being very understanding but he is getting might irritated with my horrible mood swings and also battling with some fears of his own as his father is not a good role model at all (long story).

Just marking my place on the new thread.
Welcome Maygirl... better late than never

Loving all the beautiful baby pictures. All so cute and cuddly and gorgeous!

Am I the only one who is quite happy for the baby to stay in? TBH I am not looking forward to the broken sleep and extra work, the sore boobs and especially the labour & it's aftermath. I suppose I have had a very easy pregnancy which helps. DH said he needs me to have the baby tonight so he doesn't have to go back to work tomorrow! hahaha. If not I will have to wait for about 3 weeks for a break in his schedule.

I'm feeling very 'lentil-weavery' today We have just hired a lovely doula, and now I'm sat here sewing new elastic into my old washable nappies!

Sure we must have had some new arrivals for Jan by now!!

I'm with you sockmonkey, enjoying being pregnant, and looking forwards to having a few weeks of me-time hopefully before DC2. I've got salon vouchers for xmas to use, so planning some nice pampering sessions, a few daytime swims and aqua classes, time on my own when DH and DS return to work and nursery, night away with DH next weekend, and night out with the girls the following. Then maybe I'll be ready....

mistletoe Hey same due date! I have to say though that I am more on side with sockmonkey and maygirl - as this will be my first, I am a little freaked out by it all. Even DH is keeping his distance since he found out from antenatal class that sex might bring on labour. He keeps saying that he isn't ready for it either. LOL

Report
maygirl · 03/01/2010 18:37

LOL at sock , maygirl and flyingma.

I guess that since I started my maternity leave so early, I have had tons of me time before Christmas. Plus I am at the stage where I simply dont have the energy I did. Any surplus energy is going on DS, who is getting more and more clingy. He totally knows his monopoly on mummys time is coming to an end!

Plus; I know what the first few weeks are like. And you know what, whether that starts tomorrow or in 7 days time, I really dont mind.

I also remember what it feels like to take your first real breath in ages. And your first pee after childbirth lasts 5 mins! It will feel like your longest pee ever! And I cannot cannot wait to meet my little baby! Am so curious to see what he looks like/ what his little personality is like!

Sooooo excited!

I'm getting tired of pregnancy now as well SWW!

I'm 38 weeks + 4 days.

I felt great up until Boxing Day when I had a bit of a show and since then my back aches, I can't walk around too much because the pressure on my pelvis gets quite intense and I am so tired! I've gone from feeling glowy, cooking christmas dinner and running around after my nephew to feeling like a massive heavy tired lump with aching swollen bits unable to turn over in bed. I'm a bit leaky feeling as well!

Now I just want it all over.

Hello! Marking my place on new thread. Had a look at WMDO pictures - our two Olivia's look quite similar - both absolutely beautiful of course!!!

I've gone from not being able to draw myself away from this site to having a quick check on this thread only once a day (or so). At some point though, I would like to have some mid-day naps. Haven't managed any so far due to visitors and today was just a tad busy (with me supervising from my seated position) with taking down Xmas decs etc.

Also - appears that despite breast reduction 3 years ago my milk supply is intact! So today I decided, a little late in the day, to express a bit each day to supplement the formula feeds Olivia is already having - just to give her some of mummy's good stuff!

Expressed my first 20ml earlier, which was a great relief to my boobs on Day 5, and hope to then do a couple of expresses each day and see how it goes.

Anyway - nuff for now. Off to feed and cuddle

I'm quite keen to be a bit late this time - so I'm bound to be early . May change my mind in another couple of weeks and be desperate to get it over with, but I'd really like this baby to be as far away from Christmas as possible (as an early January baby myself). For some reason I'm much more nervous about the birth itself this time - even though last time was really good.

whensmydayoff - ah sooooooo cute x

Flyingma - thanks for that great advice, will show to dh.

I was actually going to go to a hotel the night it happened but girls settled down to bed and I am such a sloth right now that moving seemed like more hassle

Had a lazy day today, we tried the birth pool again and filled it up, got my fairy lights on, lavendar burning going and relaxation music playing - lovely enjoyed trying out different positions then relaxed for awhile doing some visualisation techniques imagaining the birth.

Mama2b5 and Happybump - our due date seems so far away, i wonder if we get to it. i really feel like i will be soon. not too soon though

londonlottie - hope you've had a better day.

bethoo - hope you're ok too and to anyone else who is having a rough time lately.

CantThinkofFunnyName - you sound so in love. i love it i'm sorry you had such a rough ride. how are you feeling physically now? are you having nice lavendar and tea tree oil baths to help you heal together with taking a strong dose of arnica/calendula from helios company?

mama2b - 2 more Sundays aaaaaagggghhh - I am sort of prepared in that I have bags together but psychologically not ready at all to meet number 2 ! Want to enjoy a little more time with DS and DH now I am on mat leave before the new baby arrives.

Lottie no wonder you are fed up ! Hope he is either on the mend or working through his pain to help you out with the girls.

liny - big congrats - lovely name. Hope things going well.

My DH has a broken rib at the mo (caused by sledging !) and we are currently experimenting with separate beds as neither of us can sleep properly and keep waking each other up..... I like having our huge bed to myself and bump so much that I might suggest it as a permanent solution!

I'm just back from the mat unit there - mw was a bit concerned because I bled after the attempted sweep and wanted to put me on the monitor. She thinks he's even further down now!
