Cool title!! Just to let you know, after much deliberating, i have booked to have the swine flu vaccination tomorrow morning. Still not really convinced, but one of my friends who is a GP said that if his wife was still pg (they have 3mth old) he would be telling her to have it. Was really in two minds, but have just decided to bite the bullet and go for it. it is a bit strange because baby could arrive any time, or at worst, could be almost 1 month yet, so hard to know how much control I can have on limiting my exposure to it!

Just writing a message so that I can find this thread easily! Good luck all those having some sort of contractions - I haven't had any more since last Wednesday grrrr

I tried clary sage last time, along with pineapple, curry, sex, raspberry leaf tea, walking, scrubbing kitchen floor etc etc and was still 11 days late. They come when they're ready but at least it keeps you busy I suppose. 2nd time around I'm busy enough anyway!

Posted on the last thread to say that my rl friend who was due in Dec had her baby yesterday, about 4 weeks early. Feeling very but also a bit stressed in case this one comes too soon, I've got sooooo much planned for the mornings when I'm on mat. leave and dd is still at nursery .

Had lots of bh this evening with backache & having to go to the loo. Has calmed down. Had a panic about having to give birth - have been through it before with no pain relief & everything fine but still feel apprehensive. When I had the backache I thought oh no I'll have to go through this again.

Good morning!

feeling totally horrible today.... I'm not supposed to finish work until friday but after a very busy and exhausting day yesterday resulting in tears when I got home... I decided I wouldn't go in today. I had my swine flu gab yesterday so my arm is killing me and i'm not sleeping well at all. just the joys of pregnancy...

well anyway, I text my boss this morning saying I felt unwell and wont be in today and her reply was, 'well i've got a head ache but i'm still going in' I was so shocked it took me about 5mins to reply, and i just put sorry to hear that but im not coming in.
the hard thing is we are really good friends out of work but she has been really off with me for a few months.
they have already employed my replacement and there is plenty of staff in today to cope with me not being there and I was going back in tomorrow. but now I feel I dont want to go back at all this week after spending most of the morning crying, DP is not very impressed and told me not to go back but i'm starting to feel guilty aready.... HELP!!

Went for a 36 week scan yesterday, placenta has moved up and baby is fine but my amniotic fluid levels are only 5cm so I need to go back for another scan next week. I feel really disappointed as am planning a hypnobirth at home and they said I will have to be induced if the levels stay so low.

Madmissey - just hoping to hold on until pil arrive at the weekend. Only 37 wks but dd5 arrived exactly at this time really quickly. Hoping it's just nerves about this happening again.

One thing though is that I had a big surge in energy the last few days & have got lots of jobs done. Now I feel I would sleep for a week but no chance as ds is off sick, had dd off sick last week plus lots of teacher training days off in the past few weeks. dh is really busy at work as well.

Only thing left to do is wrap up the xmas pressies but with the backache I don't feel up to going out to get the wrapping paper plus ds needs to rest. Perhaps this unfinished job will subconsiously stop me from giving birth early!

Mybox - you are even busier than me . We are pretty much sorted for Xmas, apart from some picture frames and my sisters presents.

1pet - I personally wouldn't go back into work, its only 3 more days, you could have 'flu' or soemthing. Sorry to hear she was mean, do you think maybe she is funny/jealous you're having a baby?

Had my 36 weeks check today, her growth has caught up and im measuring 35 weeks

MW was very positive about vaccination, btw. She is an excellent MW (well known around here for being the MW you try to get lol)and we had a good chat about the preservatives etc and she rested my mind, but i was pretty much set on it anyway. DH just thinks whatever i think iyswim.

I'm starting to slow down a little, i expect in a couple of week i shall be a recluse

Last night was having constant period like pains in my back, which resulted in what felt like mildish contractions every 30-40 minutes or so. Survived the night and sent DH off to work but still feel a bit funny.
The pains havent increased but also havent gotten any better... Grrr. I phoned midwife who said it could be one of three things, The head engaging. Braxton Hicks. Or the beginnings of labour, she gave me the usual 2 paracetamol and warm bath spiel and told me to come down if it gets unbearable!

Am 38+6 and trying literally everything - I know I am not lkely to have her yet but am so impatient...sex seems to bring on v strong BH and period type pains and some backache but they die down after about 4 hours...

Re earlier posts about hotmilk bras / nursing bras in general I have found this website which I think is really good - the service is very personal - I have spoken to the chap who runs it several times now - and the hotmilk bras are a lot cheaper than in shops. He also has a lot of stock. I really really love hotmilk so this was a real find for me . Hope this link works www.nursingbra.co.uk

I have tried sex and clary sage oil and not worked so sulking today!!! booked my 40 week midwife app reluctantly and my 41 app at hospital for my sweep!!!!! better not be waiting that long!!! I got 2 fab nursing bras from sainsburys for £2.50 each.... a black and a white so well chuffed!!! NOt sure how breast feeding will go so not splashing out tonnes yet!!
