Suspect I may sit here on my own for a few days, as found out pretty early that I'm now 3+4, due 3rd Feb 06.

I'll introduce myself anyway!

Age 31, DH 39. Live North Herts. Ttc #1 for just over 4 years, including 1 missed m/c last October.

Ecstatic to be pregnant again , but also nervous because of m/c history.

Not joining you as such, but sending you huge congratulations.

My ds was born February 3rd 2004. It's a lovely time to have a baby - they are just starting to really notice everything when the summery weather starts.
Hope you hear from others soon

Tabs,

Congrats so much on the pregnancy - you don't know how excited I am to see a Feb thread - means I'm a little bit closer to being due.

I'm sure this prgnancy will be fine for you - there's loads of support around on MN should you need it - there's loads of us neurotic pregnant women on here after m/c's!!!

Good luck sweetie!!!

Thanks Bee - saw doc this morning and he says 6th Feb, but it's only an estimate anyway, so who's quibbling!!

Minnie - it is nice to know that I'm 'normal'!! Guess you're on a Jan thread then - will have to have a look in - have only been using the conception threads until now!

Tabs, I'm in the Dec thread.

I had a missed m/c in Jan and was due to have a baby boy in June. Unfortunaly that wasn't to be. There are lots of us that have suffered m/c's on the Dec thread - we're all hoping for extra special xmas gifts this year.

I am cautiously posting in here since I feel like someone might come and chuck me back on the TTC thread!

ME 27
DH 27
TTC#1
missed m/c Feb 05 (at 11 weeks, baby died 9 weeks)

Got BFP on Monday(CD33 - first response) and 2nd on Tuesday (clearblue) so reckon am about 4+2.(technically due 30th Jan but feel safer here!)

I am feeling positive but really nervous at the same time - wish I could hibernate for the next 8 weeks!! I am so sad that I am looking forward to Big Brother as a distraction and just realised that when it finishes in August we will be past the dangerzone! woohoo!!

anyway - I am ingoring everything until next week. If no change then I will tell my MW...

Hey Teuch - good to see you sneaking over here! I reckon you'd really be due in Feb if you adjusted for the fact that you're not a 28 day cycle kind of girl! I ov'ed on day 18, so only told my doc this date, and we therefore pretended that my LMP date was 14 days before this, and worked out EDD accordingly.

Now, about all this not getting excited business - I'm going to give you my two penneth worth! We can either be paranoid and miserable and wish our lives away for the next 8 weeks, which won't change the outcomes of our pregnancies, or we can be happy and celebrate that we are pregnant, and if the worst happens then we'll face it knowing that at least we had a few weeks of joy. Whaddya reckon - am I talking sense?

Am hoping that BB has some good contestants this year - I quite enjoyed last years apart from that miserable scottish tw@t!!

I'm seeing my midwife on Friday, so will report back on how it goes.

Hiya Tabs and Teuch,

Had a positive test today - my est due date is 29th Jan. However, my due date with dd was 26th September and she eventually arrived on the 5th October (this is only last year by the way ). So I'll be looking in here as more than likely if everything goes O.K. I will probably be in the Feb 2006 post-natal club!

Tabs - you are talking sense ...I think i was still in shock although it is starting to sink in.

I got 30th Jan already taking into account 33 day cycle but still sticking in here!

Welcome hotmama!

How are yoy both feeling? Any symptoms?

I have been feeling rough the last few mornings - hot flushes, dizzy and nauseous. Also lots of cramping and CM although it has faded a bit and (sorry if too much information) BM a bit weird. No sore boobs or anything!

Had changed to decaf already but even the thought of that is not great - now on peppermint tea with sugar in!

Tabs · 26/05/2005 09:54

Hey teuch - great to hear you sounding more positive!

Had stomach pains last night - seem to have eased off a bit today. Had them last time too for a couple of days roundabout when AF was due, so at least I'm not panicking that they're abnormal!

Other than that nothing so far, but don't think I got any symptoms until 5 or 6 weeks last time, and I'm still only 3+6 today!

I gave up caffeine last Aug when I first fell pregnant, so just have 1 cup of decaf first thing, then lots of water and herbal teas during the rest of the day. Am going to check with my m/w about the herbal teas tomorrow, as I've heard such mixed things about whether some of them are ok or not. In the meantime just sticking to peppermint (but without your sugar!) and lemon and ginger, which I'm pretty sure are both ok to have.

Morning folks!

Tabs - you been to see midwife yet? let us know how you get on!

I'm still feeling 'hungover' in the morning although convinced it is all in my head...more mysterious is that fact that I feel sick in the evening!

starting to get head round it a bit more now. Assuming no change after the weekend then I will call the community midwife and ask her about the next steps - In this area they don't offer an early scan (since it is only reassuring for as long as you are being scanned) but they will monitor HcG levels...need to find out what that entails.

Report
Tabs · 27/05/2005 11:42

Morning Teuch. Just back from seeing midwife now. I asked her about having weekly blood tests for hcg levels, but she thought a scan sometime after 7 weeks would be better, as if it picks up the heartbeat then then the chance of m/c drops dramatically. Just have to pick up a card from Dr giving 'permission' later on today, and then I can book it. Funny how different areas are different in their thinking - where are you based?

Stupidly, even though I explained that it was better to work out EDD from my ov date, she said that the hospital get upset if they don't record true LMP, so she's given me a due date at the very end of Jan, but says that it'll just change back to Feb again when I have my scan - how pointless is that?!

She couldn't answer my questions about herbal teas and blisteze (minty cream to prevent chapped lips and coldsores) though. I wanted to confirm that they were safe to use during pregnancy - have heard such mixed things about some herbal teas, but she didn't have a clue, and said I'd have to look them up - err, where exactly?!

Anyway, got another appointment to see her in 8 weeks, by which time I'll have had a scan too.

BTW, saw your post asking Milosmum if she was going to join us over here - she's on the Jan thread already, so you can always pop over there to say hi!

how exciting to have seen the midwife and make it all a bit more real!!

I'm confused by the different attitudes towards scan/HcG testing...I am based in the Lothians but I know this is the case in other areas of Scotland too...ho hum. I'll see what she says when I get to that point...

Think I'll pop over to Jan thread for a sneaky peak!

Hi everyone. I just found out this week that I'm pregnant and due 1st Feb 06 (although this hasn't been confirmed by doctor yet!) This will be no. 3 for me - dd1 is 4.5 and dd2 is 2.5. Am very nervous about the pg thing as I had a DVT when I was 10 weeks pg with dd2, which resulted in me injecting myself with heparin every day to thin my blood. My gynae said if I was to get pregnant again then I would more than likely have to start injecting as soon as possible, so I'm off to see the doc on Friday. Not looking forward to that, but as dh says, once I've been doing it for a week, it will seem normal again. Yuck! Only told one very close friend so far as it's very early days, but feel very special carrying "my little secret" - even if it is no. 3! Also relocating to Holland in July, so have a busy time coming up!

Hope all is going well for everyone!

Report
Tabs · 30/05/2005 10:26

Hi Kando and Congratulations!

Let's hope you don't need the injections this time around, although I'm sure that your DH is right and you'll soon get used to them if you do.

I guess the move to Holland will complicate your medical care a little? Have you lived out there before and know what to expect?
