Hi Donttrythisathome

Thanks for starting this! I've been keeping an eye out for a March thread as I got my BFP on Tuesday morning (was too chicken to start it myself ).

This is also my first and I also think my EDD is 2 March 2010 . I've had IVF so I'm pretty sure of my dates (I'm 4wks+3 today) but I have an early scan booked for when I'm 7 weeks. Am also booked in to see the GP on Monday.

How are you feeling? Still all feels a bit unreal to me, but in a good way .

xx

hi donttry and caitni and congrats

I have been lurking on the Feb09 thread but reckon my baby is much more likely to be born in March as both my DC were late and think my DD is 26th Feb... so may also lurk here too if that is OK

Enjoy it feeling unreal while you can caitni - I am 5+5 (Ithink...) and got my first taste of morning sickness today - lovely!

Hello ladies!

I got BFP on Wednesday, am 4 weeks pregnant today Think I'm due on 5 March 2010. This will be our first baby and I'm a big mix of excited and also nervous.

Can anyone allay my fears: I'm going on a church mission trip to a remote area of Europe for 2 weeks in July when I'll be 6-7 weeks pregnant. This was booked and organised months and months ago, so me getting pregnant now isn't something the rest of the team know yet. I plan to tell them next week once the news sinks in the my mind!

I'm a bit worried about mosquito spray cuz I know I can't use products with DEET. Any suggestions? Also, any ideas how I can relax about it?

oh brill, was looking for something like this on the pregnancy thread but couldnt see anything!! i got my BFP yest at 9dpo so official due date on sunday, but all my BFPs i have had before AF due.

trying not to get tooooo excited as have had 2 mc/s in the past but staying optimisitic!

my EDD is mar 10th so far...!

TLC- i'm sure there are some natural bug repellants that are safe to use?

Hi BYM TakeLovingChances and Doctorskidaddle (great name btw ).

Congrats on your BFPs! Great to see more of us Spring mamas-to-be arriving.

DrSkidaddle how many DC do you have already? My sister is about to have her second but went late with her first and is worried the same thing will happen again (she's tired of being so massive in all the heat recently!).

TLC I've got very sensitive skin so tend to avoid Deet anyway and I've used one called Ecoguard in the past (see www.travelwithcare.com/InsectRepellentMosquito/138/products/EcoguardSpray60ml-425.html) and it's really good. And I'm one of those people the mozzies just love (sweet blood I think ). Am sure there would be some other natural alternatives if you just popped into a Boots or somewhere. What part of Europe are you off to?

BYM wow! that's early to get a positive result - lucky you! I got mine at exactly 4 weeks (was too chicken nervous to test any sooner!). Well done you for keeping positive - it must be stressful after M/Cs but every pregnancy is different so I hope this little bean is sticky and you have an uneventful 9 months

PS DrSkidaddle sorry to hear the MS is starting so early! Am not looking forward to that at all although I guess the good thing about symptoms it that they reassure us hormones are rising. I'm just totally exhausted at the moment - making it through the day at work is about all I can manage before collapsing in a heap on the sofa!

Doctorskidaddle · 26/06/2009 15:00

Hi BYM and TLC and congrats!

TLC - I don't think there's anything to worry about for your trip in terms of your baby being fine but prepared to be very tired and possibly sick, and maybe a bit of emotional wreckness thrown in!

caitni - I have 2 DC (DD 3.8 and DS 18mths). I am absolutely terrified at the prospect of having three under 5 but also v. excited. I was much more overdue for my (older)DD than DS and I think this is very common so hopefully this will be your sister's case too - when is she due? It will be lovely to have your baby and hers so close in age

BYM - wow that is early - youu must ve VERY pregnant! Crossed fingers all goes well for you this time

Morning sickess is horrid . I know I should be glad that it means all is going well but I just wish it was over and I was 12 weeks and blooming!

Has anyone made an appt to see the GP yet? I saw mine yesterday and he was really lovely and helpful which was nice as I thought he'd be a bit blase as this is my third.

Caitni thanks for the mosquito repellant advice. Those pesky bugs love my blood too! I remember my honeymoon when I got eaten alive by them! It was like having chickenpox, just being covered in angry red marks all the time .

I'm going to Ukraine. I know that's not a remote place, it's massive and has many big cities, but the part I'm going to is a small village away from the main towns.

I'm very happy to be going to help people there, just feeling a bit vulnerable as it's at an early stage in pregnancy.

Caitni · 26/06/2009 15:11

DrSkidaddle three under five will be a lot to cope with and I'd be terrified too! But I'm one of six, with 9 years from the eldest to the youngest, and I loved the fun and noise of a household busy with kids. We'd also love three kids and those age gaps will be lovely . Though MS must be extra hard with two smallies to look after too - you poor thing . I'm glad that the GP was lovely though. I'm off to see mine on Monday and don't know what to expect. I've only seen him once before as we only moved to this GP when we moved house in Jan and I had my IVF privately.

TLC mozzies are the bane of my life on holidays too so I hear your pain. And it's perfectly normal to feel a bit apprehensive and vulnerable about your trip but I agree with DrS that I don't think there's anything to worry about in terms of your baby being fine. It'll also help the early weeks to pass more quickly, which has got to be a good thing .

I am a happy lady... When I got my first 3 BFP's I used normal POAS method on home tests which change colour when the result comes through. This will be our first child, but I did 3 tests just to make sure

I was just in chemist there and couldn't resist buying one of those Clearblue digital ones.... they ones which flash up the word. Mine just came up saying "Pregnant" and just seeing that in letters made it all the more real for me

I'm sure you all know what I mean. Just wanted to share that with you, cuz DH and I haven't told people in the RL yet. I'm gasping to tell people! But must be patient!!!

Can I join you lovely ladies? I am 4w4d today, due date 1 March, got BFP on Monday evening. This will be my first, had a chem pg last year....am exceptionally paranoid about it going wrong, time seems to be dragging even though I am very busy at work....just want these worrying weeks to pass quickly.
Been experiencing nasty nausea all week, kicks in about 3pm every day until about 7pm, and am exhausted, have been getting in from work and falling fast asleep for a couple of hours every day!
Look forward to getting to know everyone here (hopefully)

wow caitni - 6 children in 9 years - I feel humbled!! 3 under 5 will be a doddle...

BYM - I have told SIX people but they are all people I would want to tell if I were to lose it. I also find it almost impossible to keep to myself though

with you on the nasty nausea onlyanauntie - miserable, isn't it? Wierdly only chocolate seems to alleviate it - what is a girl to do?

Don't really think I'm allowed to add myself to the list given my EDD but what the heck...

welcome everyone, all these bfps are so exciting!!

i'm confused about my EDD, i dont know how long my cycles are as i dont normally have any, and i dont know how long my luteal phase is either. I used the clearblue monitor for this pregnancy and it's flashing m today (cd35), does it calculate when AF is supposed to be due? if i plug in the first day of AF, then put in 35day cycle with a 14 day luteal phase i get EDD 7th march??

BellasYummyMummy · 27/06/2009 07:36

ok im going to change my due date to the 8 march (lol), as as AF is due tomorrow which would make it a 36 day cycle, i think i was going for worst case scenario and putting AF due on tuesday but i think i got myself very confused with LPs and cycle days!

Wow, congrats on all the BFPs!

I'm about 4 weeks I think, but I concentrated so hard on the TTC bit that i have completely ignored the actually being pregnant. And as for the childbirth...well forget about it...

No symptoms really except a bit bloated (but hey what's new?!).

Booked in with my GP next Tuesday.

Can I ask for advice on a dilemma on telling people?

DPs older (and only) sister is TTC but having problems. In fact she may not be able to have them at all, but has been advised to try for the next couple of months and then maybe go for IVF. She always wanted kids and this is killing her. She is also very anxious.

The only other sibling, a step sister is also pregnant.

I think if we announce now, it will put her under pressure for the next couple of months and be devastating for her when she needs to just get down to business!

So....announce soon, or hold off as long as we can in the hopes she'll get up the duff?

Morning all

It's really interesting to hear about telling other people. We had told some people about the IVF so we just told them (so, er, 5 people ). I've also told my best friend from uni, as I just couldn't hold it in! But not telling anyone else until we're much further along! It's hard for me though, as I'm one of life's oversharers so would love to sing it from the rooftops

DontTry god, what a dilemma re your SIL. I've been through the mill ttc before we ended up with IVF because of male factor. So I can imagine what she's going through . I'd say hold off on telling her for a few more weeks but tell her before you make it entirely public - so for example if you're not going to tell everyone until 12 weeks then tell her at 9/10 weeks - this means she's still "special" enough to tell early but she doesn't have the added pressure with all her other ttc anxieties...and on a plus note, I'm not sure what her circumstances are, but I found IVF much easier than expected (and got pregnant at our first attempt!). She can get a lot of support on places like MN (the assisted conception thread in Conception was my lifesaver at times!).

Thanks Caitni (are you Irish with that name? I am).

Her circs are fairly complicated with no periods for years, just started ovulating again but with a bad AMH level.

I think we will hold off until the end of August, even though it will kill me....
