I was going to say "Maybe we just all talk too much", then worked out how many of the other posts were probably me ranting about stuff, so zipped my mouth back up!!

To carry on what was being said previously - thankyou Pavlov for your kind words And I'm jealous of the bike hehe!!

I'd quite like the scan to be just me and DP, but I think if I told my mum she couldn't be there she'd kill me, and after seeing the look on my brothers face when he heard the heartbeat, and the way he whispered, "Is that Nelson?", I promised he could come to the scan. He's being very sweet about it at times.

We sure are a chatty lot.

Hope the scans went well yesterday.

Erika It's nice to hear that your brother is coming around - you said he wasn't in the best of moods with you. When is your scan?

He ranges Then again, I guess part of that is his age. Its very much a love-hate relationship... But saying that, who's isn't with their siblings??

Its is a week and a half, am getting so impatient now!!!

Report
skorpion · 25/06/2009 11:52

I know what you mean about siblings, I could have quite easily throttled my younger sister when we were kids. But now, I miss her the most from all my family and we're incredibly close. You'll get to that point, too, I'm sure.

Mine is just over two weeks away - can't wait!!

I'm sure your DP will go all gooey at the scan, too. My DH has definitely changed his tune since the 12 week scan - he sometimes seems more into the whole thing than me!

Gave me a bit of a shoch when he kissed my tummy goodnight the other day. I thought stuff like that only happens in cheesy films

I love Taytos!!! My DH is from NI and we go every Christmas.. We were in Dublin for a stint and used to head up north every weekend. It's bliss there and am very blessed with my in laws. They are awesome.

skorpion That is very sweet of your DH...they can be cheesy at times!

Pavlov and Koumak good luck on your scans..how exciting..!!!!

After taking DD to one scan never again..She just freaked out and didn't let DH see anything..Schedule all my scans when she is next door with the neighbour's kid and a childminder for the morning. can't wait till Tuesday.

Skorpion - my DP has started doing that quite a lot. Always kisses my tummy and talks to it. When I'm laying in bed, he rolls my top up and places his ear against it so he can hear the baby moving around. Whenever he texts me goodnight or good morning, he'll always put "you two" on it, and I smile so much my cheeks hurt!!! I'm so happy he's come round to it. I think the heartbeat freaked him out a little yesterday, but he didn't stop playing the recording he made of it on his phone, so I think it was good kind of freaked Its so good to see him happy about it... The way he first reacted, I thought he'd never come round!!!

Huge moan ahead: I've rung the Salisbury maternity unit at least three times a day every day for the last four days, trying to book a tour for this Saturday. I keep getting the answer phone saying 'You cannot leave a message.' I've sent an email. No reply.

I'm also trying to ring Swindon physiotherapy to make my extremely belated appointment (my referral only just came through, eight weeks after I first requested it). Apparently I can only call between 1 and 4, and they are permanently engaged.

I would ring the midwife to complain, but I can only call HER between 9 and 9.30 am.

Oh Tamlin that's awful! How frustrating.

I'm sitting here watching Wimnbledon. DH has just emailed to say they are going out for a drink after work to say goodbye to their old office (they are moving offices at the moment). I may as well be a single parent at the moment. I feel like he's just the lodger who comes home to sleep. Grrrrrr men!

Can't believe how much you all talk

I too am sat here watching wimbledon BBL. Sorry you're dh is not in very much, it's hard work when you have to do everything on your own isn't it.

My scan is two weeks today and it feels like forever! DD has been deciding on names for baby, bless her! We will see (and maybe suggest a few others for her to think about!!).

Sorry not had a chance to catch up, it's really hard trying to remember what is happening with whom, but I'm not being rude by not replying to everyone, sorry.

Hey all - lovely new thread! We are so chatty!
BBL sorry you are not seeing much of your DH. Must be esp hard as you work from home so I am guessing you don't get that much adult contact in the day?

I am trying to finish my reports.... They are due in tomorrow, can't wait to get rid of them!

Sooooo hot today. I am sweltering.

Am excited as the last couple of days we have seen tummy protrusions when the baby kicks - it's so exciting, I love it! Although it is freaky.

Am soooo jealous of people who have had their anomaly scans. I am ridiculously scared of mine and it's not until the 15TH!!!!! Nearly 3 weeks away!! Surely if my baby is moving around loads this is a good sign, though??

Might put Wimbledon on now...

The scan was great, DD came along and she was great, and when she stopped being great, DH stuffed her with a donut! We also managed to get 4 scan pictures for free by offering the sonographer a donut with her coffee at break!

All is well, and we did find out what we are having - due the well endowed tackle in between the legs, we are most certainly having a BOY!!!! I won, I said ALL along it was a boy. and DD said 'a boy baby? not a girl baby? a boy baby? oh' and now she is telling everyone she is having a brother so we can't keep it a secret even if we wanted to.
