Hello all
I have just found out I am pregnant with my second baby - I had my first son 18 months ago at Kingston hospital and had a really bad experience. I had to have an emergency section and I found the staff unsupportive. Because of this I am concerned about having another baby there, the only thing that I was thankful for was the fact I was given internal stitches!! lmao. (And my baby being delivered safely of course).

Anyway, I am considering going to Epsom, does anyone know anyone who has given birth there, or have you/are you giving birth there?

BTW Sorry if posted in wrong section.

I am due in 5wks(28th April) so can tell you how it went after that. Everyone I speka to at the school gate thinks its a lovely place so keeping my fingers crossed. SOrry to hear you had a bad experience at Kingston. I have dd(5) and ds(2) there and was treated really wonderfully. Completely understand that your experience might mean its really tough for you to want to go back there but there are lovely midwives there as well.
will report back once I have been to Epsom if thats not too late for you.

I have had 3 of my 5 in Epsom. Excellent care in pregnany and childbirth
I had normal delivery, the 33 week premie emergency c section then planned c section with placena previa. Each time the staff were great.

Hello,

I am pregnant 32 weeks and also thinking of changing to Epsom (from Kingston). Had my first child in K. and found they were not very personal, although when it came to having a forceps they were very professional. Would like to ask KAEKAE whether she had better experience from Epsom? Also if anyone else can share more information about the labour ward, they dont do any tours at present due to swine flu...need to know what to expect.

Many thanks.

Hi, I had my son in Epsom last November and it was a very good experience for me. The staff were very friendly, helpful and despite complications with the birth (heartrate dropping, ventouse delivery) I never felt worried or as though they weren't in control.

I was only in hospital for 14 hours (got there at 4am, as I was planning a homebirth), DS born at 5.30am and discharged at 7pm) but I have nothing bad to say about the experience. (Oh, apart from no food until 12pm, so take your own!)

My understanding is that as Epsom is a smaller hospital than Kingston you get a more attentive service.

Hope this helps, and good luck with your pregnancy!
