Clairey, would you like us to start being horrible to you so it feels familiar?? wink

Claireykitten Tue 17-Feb-09 17:26:00

No please dont!!

KittyCatIsGettingFat Tue 17-Feb-09 17:36:42

Nutty - we are DEFFO meeting up after our babies pop... Can't you picture the scene? Probably at a commune somewhere in the middle of the UK, drinking Jack and coke or Bubbles while breastfeeding and swapping house decorating tips... gringringrin

Our DH's will all get along famously while playing XBox, while the older kiddies can finger paint and make brownies under the watchful eyes of a few fab doulas...

Total bliss!!

SmuttyNuttyTaff Tue 17-Feb-09 17:45:00

LOL grin Kitty that is a fab scene grin

Clairey - you are more than welcome here, just dive in anytime smile its a shame you were put off by other more cliquey threads but luckily none of us are like that smile

we all rock grin

ok going off to feed my face see ya later smile

BB- yes she was 27 +1 (+6 by my dates)

Lol@ wateringeyes (post way back)#

bleu- yes me I'm taking washables into hospital this time too

bb- I find that different people like different nappies so dont worry. I dont mind most nappies but have a constant battle for good wraps

frekkles- agree re owing someone else mightbe better

Ahhh new thread post must cut and paste

Clairey- as you can see I struggle to keep up. And while I've been typping this there will have been 10 new posts

bronze Tue 17-Feb-09 17:59:03

ahhh dd has taken all her clothes off, walked over to me and peed on my foot

LuLuBai Tue 17-Feb-09 17:59:46

Yes - wraps are challenging. I'm fairly fickle when it comes to wraps. I found velcro brilliant for getting the seal exactly right on a little baby but an inquisitive older baby just wrips velcro off so poppers work better then. Also the seal you get around the legs really varies and depends a lot on your own child's proportions (and volume of wee produced).

Anyway, I'm being boring.....

LuLuBai Tue 17-Feb-09 18:01:23

ROFL Bronze!!!!

My DD is naked at the moment too. I gave up the clothing battle mid-afternoon. So far no wees which is lucky as I've just cleaned all the floors, mopped and hoovered wherever necessary.

BoffinMum Tue 17-Feb-09 18:02:04

I love disposables. I think resuables are an eco-conspiracy to make mums feel guilty and send them back to the kitchen sink.

<ducks as nappies are thrown>

LuLuBai Tue 17-Feb-09 18:02:49

<LuLuBai finds herself wondering if she could persuade the cat to wear a nappy....hmm>

LuLuBai Tue 17-Feb-09 18:09:26

Ha ha Boffin - dare you to go and post that on the real nappy threads grin.

I actually find disposables more practical on many fronts. For DDs first 4 months we were living in a 1 bed flat with rubbish collection once a week. I simply didn't have the space to store a weeks worth of dirty nappies (first few weeks' there were around 8 a day). With washables I just chucked them in the machine at the end of every day. Job done.

Also they do seem to suit DDs skin better. She gets more nappy rash in disposables and, after briefly using a rather dodgy type she got a horrible dose of thrush.

BoffinMum Tue 17-Feb-09 18:11:16

I am tempted Lulu but perhaps I am too much of a coward. Maybe I could troll away with a namechange ... grin

LuLuBai Tue 17-Feb-09 18:16:46

grin

I avoid the nappy threads like the plague as they are rife with rows. But I might just keep an eye out wink

KittyCatIsGettingFat Tue 17-Feb-09 18:18:20

TrollBoff - it has a certain ring to it, don't you think?? grin

SpringySunshine Tue 17-Feb-09 18:19:59

BB, your DH's text is nothing - DP & I are in love with online Monopoly (it's become a bit of an addiction) & whenever he needs to toilet he says 'do you want a game of MonoPOOly?' & takes his laptop in with him for the 45 minutes or so. Whilst typing into the in-game chat things like 'nrrrrrgh' & so on.

Actually, about this wedding... grin

Clairey, you're reet by me! I didn't know this! Now you're definitely not allowed to leave the thread wink

We had better all be doing a meet-up after we've popped! I'll be gutted if I never get to meet you all - you've kept me sane(ish) for months already!

bronze, moments like that make me pine for motherhood wink

bronze Tue 17-Feb-09 18:33:37

its alright minutes later dh came back from taking ds2 to the fair and they brought me back a bag of candy floss. I can forgive anyone anything right now

SmuttyNuttyTaff Tue 17-Feb-09 18:36:19

Boffin - yay another one grin i love disposables (been too scared to say till now)

Bronze - grin lol

BoffinMum Tue 17-Feb-09 18:43:14

I will start a disposable nappy thread if Lulu and Nutty promise to come and defend me from the flames!!! grin We will be like the three muscateers!!!

bronze Tue 17-Feb-09 18:48:18

I use disposables as well. Does that make you feel better? grin

Claireykitten Tue 17-Feb-09 18:55:49

I use disposables (thats despite being determinied to do it all reusable whilst pregnant last time) It took us about a week using disposables to decide that we didnt fancy trying to get reusables onto our wriggly little monster!

BoffinMum Tue 17-Feb-09 19:08:18

Ok ladies I'm going in. Cover my back.

KittyCatIsGettingFat Tue 17-Feb-09 19:09:25

Boff - we've got you covered... we'll all come in and say nice things about disposables, just cos we like you... grin
