Help finding a baby!

I write this message more as a plea rather than a post. I have this Autumn started a Masters in Psychoanalytic Observational Studies at the Tavistock centre in North London, which is affiliated by the University of East London. A big part of the course is observing an infant from birth (under 4 weeks) for two years.

This part of the course is key as it enables the observer to really look at fine detail about the babies individual development, relationship with parents and siblings, and their interaction with the world around it. The observation not only benefits the student, but also benefits the parents, as the relationship built with the family is very unique, as the observer see's the baby in a different way to friends and 'visitors'. The observer is able to offer a relationship that the parents will really enjoy as very few people in the baby's life will really see the baby's actions and movements as close as the observer.

Ultimately, I am looking for a family that is willing to help me with this!

I have had two families interested and keen to start, but unfortunately both were unsuitable, due to timing and commitment issues which was unfortunate, and now I am left looking again for a family that would like to be involved in such a special relationship.

Not only am I studying on this course, but I have also worked with children for 8 years and have a shining CV and CRB check to match. I currently work in a children's psychiatric unit as my work, alongside the course should lead me to my ultimate ambition of becoming a child Psychotherapist.

If anyone who reads this knows of a family, or you are a family that are expecting, or have friends that are expecting soon, I would be very grateful to hear from you and talk more about the project.

Any help is good help, as being a young working indivdual in London, means it has been difficult to really find a way into a network of new mothers.

I am particularly looking around the North London area for convenience for both my self and the family, anywhere from Stanmore/Edgware, to Camden and the surrounding areas.

I hope you can help.

Many thanks

Melissa
