morning ladies
love the new thread title.
I've hit the 25 week mark today (already!) and have midwife visit this pm for usual bloods, checks etc.
Just dawned on me after reading all the Chrimbo shopping stuff that it is only 14 weeks to Christmas - I must get organised. Don't know why it came as a shock to me - baby is due on Hogmanay and that's 15 weeks......stupid pregnant brain .

Anyway, must dash, nursery run time.

Yes very good title, very apt for me atm. I blame dh home and cooking for me. I am a salad and cereal girl when he is away!

I am gargantuan, i look about 28 weeks pregnant at 23. I am so breathless too, have been walking lots this time, hoping to keep myself fit and the baby in a good position. I did far too much sitting round last time and drove everywhere, i am sure it didnt help ds get in to a good position for the birth.

The consultant was quite nice when i saw him, he did give me a lenghty lecture on the dangers of homebirth and how irresposible i was being. Nothing new there really.

He did point out that at baby #7 my muscles are getting tired (are they ever)and may be less able to hold the baby in a good position for birth. This is unfortunately true as the last two have been spinning right to the end. The last baby was booked for a section on my due date as he was breech at 39 weeks. He turned at 39 1\2 thankfully. The next one may not though!

He said they would book me in for an ECV (External cephallic version) at 39 weeks and if it is succesful would break my waters and induce me on the spot. Normally i am against this kind of thing but i can see it may make sense. I have very rapid labours and breech babies can labour faster still. I could be caught short at home with no midwife and rapid breech delivery, the last two have struggled to come out too being over 9lb. I don't fancy an unplanned breech delievry, alone, baby stuck.

Will have to wait and see, she may behave yet! DD was a hellish labour as she was op but came the day before her due date and was a dinky 7lb 10oz (dinky for me) i have hope!!!

How are the rest of you? Bbaies going craxy inside now? Mine is a loon, dh has the magic touch and gets her to sleep with his hand on her, long may it last!

Report
Upwind · 18/09/2008 09:40

That is weird LG&T - my baby nearly always stops moving when DH puts his hand on my belly. Useful for getting to sleep but I don't understand why? My hand doesn't seem to make any difference.

It's the power they hold Upwind or that is what my dh will say...

Report
rrrayray · 18/09/2008 09:52

Bean was going BONKERS when i was trying to sleep last night! Full on Party going in there. Kicks all over the show, Arms must have been going too as movement ALL over!!!!

Think the sugar in the YUMMY ben and jerrys cookie dough ice cream i ate about 30 mins before going to bed was probarly giving him all sorts of energy! doh.... not to self not to eat ice cream before bed again!!!

Report
largeginandtonic · 18/09/2008 09:56

We went to Ikea and i have a vast stash of Daim bars, they make me have CRAZY dreams though so have not been eating them. Very odd.

The sugar does make them go crazy, i ate the fizziest sweets before the 20 weeks scan to make her jump around. It didnt work! She sat legs firmly crossed the entire time despite my jiggling, woke up as soon as we left

Report
stripeywoollenhat · 18/09/2008 10:01

i am suffering from insomnia at the moment so was able to fully experience the little one's acrobatics last night for hours... she is pretty quiet during the day, though.

Report
NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 18/09/2008 10:14

Good morning

Thanks for new thread Spink, agree with everyone, it's a great title

Heather'smummy, hope MW's goes well

LG&T, I thought my situation re. the birth was bad enough, hadn't even crossed my mind about a breech birth.... I hope none of it is needed for you. (Especially because the way my contractions are going, if you get induced at 39 weeks, you won't be about to prop me up in my last weeks! , just think of all the knicker sniffing and DIY sweeps you'll miss!!! Not forgeting the LDC!)

I am still not getting very much movement, he sometimes has 5 minutes when he goes ape and you can see it from the outside, but mostly he is very quiet, apart from the hiccups, so very different to my other pregnancies.

hi

bought dd a pink fluffy dressing gown in peacocks for £6 as other one is too small

finally picked up dds clothes i ordered for winter

she has

2 pairs of jeans

stripy hooded top
top with animals on
pink flowery top
white flowery top

green fleecy jumper with blue spots

purple dress with fairy on and stripy top and tights
grey dress with purple stripy top and tights
pink dress with pink stripy top

short denim skirt

finally has something to wear
havent bought as much this time as she is at nursery and wears jogging bottoms plus nursery tshirt and jumper

lg&t hi hope birth goes well when the time comes. i am seeing a consultant next tues as i had 2nd degree tearing with dd to discuss birthing options.

when my dh tries to feel movement stops too how funny

rray ye for babys party

stripy sorry for insomnia it is horrid hope it eases

hi nat

perhaps you are going to have a subdued quiet baby.
my dd when pregnant with her was none stop in day and quiet at night which is what she is like now, constantly energetic and a great sleeper.
this one is very active too says in my books that when you move around in the day it rocks them to sleep and when you sit they move more.
this one moves most when i am eating lunch especially tea.

largeginandtonic · 18/09/2008 11:56

Aw Nat will be posting form hospital have no fear Wouldnt miss the drama for a second! Of course all will be plain sailing this time and you will be fine.

Tink my consultant loves me as i am a previous section (the twins) transferred in from home for 3rd degree tear with dd, lovely homebirth with ds#3, shoulder dystocia at home with ds#4 and induction with ventouse, very nearly forceps with the last baby ds#5. He physically recoils when he see's me

I am mighty stubborn and wont be bossed around, i am still hoping this one goes head down at 30 weeks and stays there meaning i can have a lovely home delivery in a pool. Have not ticked the 'given birth in a pool' box yet

Tink you are so organised, mine are still out in shorts and t-shirts, winter stuff still away. Holding out for the Indian Summer

morning! come on people, lets get hte colours on the list so we can see if we have more boys or girls!

my doc told me that if I didn't think the 30kgs I put on last time were water, then they were fat. cue stern look. as a result this week so far i've done chilates, spin AND yoga. right. think that means I can have pudding at lunchtime. seriously though my arse is spreading like wildfire. Why is this. and why am i hungry all the time?!!! Its impossible to restrict eating when you are starving. I do find exercise makes me crave water rather than food though, weirdly.
