Start using Mumsnet PremiumDue April 08: itchy, achey bump! Anyone else?
(5 Posts)I'm due on 17th April so am about 27 weeks and getting quite big which is fine except that I'm getting these patches of achiness that almost itch. I really feel like this baby's expanding quicker than I am and my skin's complaining, can that be it? Don't remmeber this happening last time... although can't remember much at all about last time so that doesn't mean anything!
Anyone else getting this or have any bright ideas?
i'm 38 weeks preg with number 2 and have had same thing (didn't have it with ds1), inadvertently scratching at night til skin bleeds... am using palmers organic olive oil lotion morning and night which helps a bit, think it's just stretching skin and not much you can do other than keep moisturising with something really oily. actually maybe a really pure olive oil would be even better...
Oh I'm glad it's not just me! Will get some Bio-oil rubbed in immediately. did you lose a lot of weight prior to getting pregnant again? It's the only thing i can think of that would explain it, that I've got less skin to start with and that's why it's stretching more.
oh yep, the bio oil is really nice, just got bored of the smell hence moved to the palmers stuff. yes i was pretty skinny before getting preg again, did a lot of yoga and pilates, so skin was reasonably taut, hadn't considered that...
I started a stone lighter this time round after putting on massive amounts of weight with DD1, hopefully that's it!
