Can't quite believe it. Got a very very faint BFP today. Been ttc no2 for ages now.

Don't want to say too much until I have told RL but reckon I am due around about 8th Sept or so.

I think I'm going to be in early September too - possibly in the first couple of days.

Can I join you? I have several friends from a ttc thread who also got their bfps this week. Can we join you? I'll send them over...

Congratulations, by the way. I think you're very brave to start this. I didn't have the guts

Hi all,

Would like to cautiously add myself (I kept telling myself that I shouldn't until I'm further on but at the end of the day I am pregnant at the moment so need to hold onto that fact )

Quick info about me, this month has been my 15th cycle trying to concieve our first baby, I had a very early miscarriage in Oct this year (at 4+4) and so very nervous at the moment but so happy at the same time.

Allwillbe - Congrats to you, how long have you been trying for?

Excitable - Hey so pleased to see you on here

What symptoms if any are you getting? Still only have sore boobs, and AF twinges on and off, but I didn't have ant
y symptoms when I MC so I hope this is a good sign.

Thought I'd start a list

Excitable - EDD 1st Sept?
Gracie - EDD 1st Sept?
Allwillberevealed - EDD 8th Sept

OOoooh look! - we've got a list! - how exciting is this???

I too only have sore boobs and AF twinges, but my God they really are sore boobs - they've felt like they're going to explode for about a week!!

Although I am excited, I'd rather not be pregnant this week - I'm beginning to feel the pressure of hiding my not drinking tomorrow! I will probably have something to drink, but much less than I usually do. Beginning to regret inviting everyone to my house for a booze up. I thought that if I wasn't pregnant, it would take my mind off it.

I had a really shit Christmas involving some family rows and I just feel like I'd like to watch Jools Holland quietly with my DH. Just hoping I feel more in the party mood tomorrow...

Think I'm prob due on the 2nd but I'm not sure what date to go on as last AF was barely there for a couple of days before it got going. We onlt started trying this month so dh thinks he has super sperm. Esp as it only took about 5 mins to conceive ds too!

Lockets24 - EDD 1st Sept
Excitable - EDD 1st Sept?
Gracie - EDD 1st Sept?
Debithescot - EDD 2nd Sept?
Allwillberevealed - EDD 8th Sept

Lockets I'm adding you to the list so that Gracie doesn't have to feel like the list monitor. We're all under quite enough pressure, thank you!!

Feel a little bit more in the party mood today - just don't know what emotion is coming next with these pregnancy hormones. I was very angry yesterday morning, quite sad in the afternoon and tearful in the evening! This morning I'm happy and excitable again so I mean to enjoy it while it lasts.

Fisted up some courage to ring the doctors this morning, expecting to wait ages before they could see me and I have an appointment with the nice pregnancy-obsessed lady doctor who used to scare me so much with all the baby toys in her office! I'll let you know what happens if I can between party preparations (not sure how possible that's going to be!).

Actually, none of this is what I came on to say !

I came on to say that I've been overwhelming myself with information on pregnancy websites, but I have managed to discover a top tip for sore boobs. They recommended that you put body lotion on your boobs to stop them hurting and it worked like magic for me! Maybe that's why I'm happier today... Actually they recommended putting body lotion on your boobs and tummy every day during pregnancy to prevent/discourage stretch marks. I think I might be getting through rather a lot of the stuff!! Luckily, I got three bottles of body lotion for Chrimbo, so I guess even if I did have a shit time, I got something useful out of it Every cloud really does have a silver lining.

N.B. Please don't worry, I'm not always like this, in spite of my name!!

Hello ladies and congratulations!!!

I have had ds2 on October (now on Oct postnatal thread if you need to catch me) and I have a few maternity bras if anyone wants them? They are from M&S in black and white cotton sizes 34D and 36D. Think I have about 6 in total but I will have as good rummage and send whatever I can find. The black ones are as good as new - the white ones are very slightly discoloured as bras get when worn and washed but certainly wearable.

If anyone could use them just CAT me your address and I will happily post them on to you - I don't want anything for them. If no-one is interested I can offer them on my local freecycle but though I would ask here first.

Hi all,

Excitable - your so right about the emotions, feeling quite sad today. I suppose I can't quite believe that I'm on here and scared that something could go wrong, plus the fact that keeping this a secret is so hard I want to tell everyone especially as we have been trying for a while so this could be a long wait for 12 week scan Let us know what happens at the docs, think I'm going to hold out until next Monday but would be interested to hear what they say

Sore boobs aren't too bad, still feeling very tired and vague nausea on and off (although could be due to chocolate and toffee intake ). I'm holding onto the fact that I have some symptoms as I didn't really have any when I miscarried
So roll on more symptoms please.

Congrats to Lockets and Starlight

alicet - Congrats on baby, thanks for the offer I'm afraid I'm already a 34FF so don't think I would squeeze into them but I'm sure somebody will be along soon

Starlight I think that's a lovely idea. Part of me wishes I'd done this before and then perhaps I wouldn't feel so overwhelmed. That's my word for today - overwhelmed!

Just come back from the docs and she was good, and explained lots. I was a bit unnerved when she said that my womb is about the size of a pear now, but will be much, much bigger than a watermelon by the end of my pregnancy

She confirmed that I am 5 weeks pregnant and she made me an appointment with the midwife for 25th January, when I will be 9 weeks pregnant. She also told me to stop taking oil of evening primrose and said that she was surprised that I'd managed to get pregnant taking that, as it supresses the hormones that I will need. I'm a bit nervous about doing this, as I've suffered from PMS mood swings in the past and I was taking them for the safety of those around me! DH better put his tin hat on!!

She's quite an old fashioned type of doctor and she seemed to kept saying things like "That's wonderful news" and "I expect your husband will be delighted," which I found just weird, how does she know my husband will be delighted? What if he wasn't?

Feel a bit anticlimaxed, but have to get back to party preparations - Happy New Year everyone!

Hello ladies. My ds3 was due Sept 07, but had him early in August. Can't believe a year has passed by since it all began. I've been sitting here reminiscing about the year and then I saw a Sept 08 thread. Just wanted to wish you all the very best for the coming year. It will probably fly by, this last year has for me. So happy new year and good luck!

Wow, so many already! Sorry for starting the thread then disappearing! We have visitors and I didn't want to risk being caught with the "due in sept" thread open on the pc!

No symptoms here yet. Last time, I was shaking with hunger despite eating my normal meals, and this is what alerted me to the fact that I might be pg. This time, because of all the festivities I have barely gone an hour without shoving something in my mouth so haven't had the same hunger pangs! My boobs are getting a bit tender though and I will have to teach 2 yo ds to latch on gently when he's bf.

Will wait until next week to go to the doc as have visitors until the weekend. I know that I see the doc and then nothing happens until around 8 weeks for the booking in chat with the midwife, so I'm not getting too excited just yet....

This is lovely - I find it really calming that we're all going through the same thing. If you have a pregnancy story to add, keep them coming - it's so interesting to read what other people went through, and to know that this is all normal, or at least has been experienced by someone before.

I've just found out how much time I have to spend with healthcare professionals and it doesn't half seem like a lot. Do they have something different to discuss with you each time? Imagining endless "So, you're still pregnant? Are you taking folic acid? You haven't eaten any blue cheese have you?" conversations!

I managed to successfully hide the fact that I wasn't drinking from my friends, so I'm feeling quite smug about that, and a bit guilty too. Just not quite ready to tell anyone yet. Still getting used to the idea myself. I'm going to try lots of soft drinks and see which I like best. I think I might get quite tired of tea otherwise! I tried tonic water with pomegranite last night and that was yummy. I also seem to have the world's biggest collection of herbal teas, so I might try working my way through that. Don't worry, it's all safe stuff - there isn't any Penny Royal in there, I've heard that Nirvana song...

Thanks for updating my stats, Starlight. I fully meant todothatwhen I posted last time... I must say it's quite nice to have a reason for having a memory like a sieve!

Sorry to hear about your miscarriage, Meglet. How far were you along? Wouldn't it be nice if we could just go into stasis like Lister in Red Dwarf, come out about week 12, and have our scan then?

Allwillberevealed how difficult to have people staying at a time like this! Much as it's nice to have people around, we've really appreciated having a bit of time to get used to the idea. I think that sore boobs is a definite symptom. Have you tried rubbing body lotion or baby oil into them? That worked for me. You're completely right about waiting till next week to go to the doctors, as long as you're not in London, where I understand the midwives and especially the scan people get booked up very quickly. Hope your guests are the helpful type...

One last question, has anyone noticed a difference when they have sex? I seem to need lube now or DH complains of chafing He says he thinks it must be because things are different inside me since I became pregnant? Has anyone else have the same problem or is this one uniquely mine?

hi excitable

I was only 6 weeks when I MC last year. Thankfully it wasn't too bad and didn't hurt, I think the blow was softened by already having a DS. But this time I'm getting myself spooked over things that may go wrong. I told my mum i was pg this morning as it may be good karma to be positive .

starlight reasurring to know I'm not on my own. Better luck for both of us this time!

Happy New Year everyone and fingers crossed it'll be a great one for us all.

No symptoms here at all really. Apart from slightly sore boobs I feel exactly the same as before I was pg. I didn't feel anything much with ds either. Haven't phone doc yet, figured they'd be busy so I'll wait and do it maybe at the end of this week.
Haven't told anyone except my best friend so far. Plan to tell our parents tonight though. Dh's mum will eb excited, mine will be pleased but not surprised at all I don't suppose.

Thought that if people wanted to they could add where they live onto the list. Although I understand if you don't want to, esp as its still early days. Mmm actually maybe we should wait a few weeks in case we can be recognised by people who might know us in rl.
