great thread title; hope everyone is ok. mrsfish we are having parallel lives! my mum's booked a holiday the week of my section, my DH is away all the bloody time - so I know exactly how you feel! can't write cause I've just burned my finger with boiling oil shock but will be back on later once ice pack is applied!

alicet Mon 10-Sep-07 18:13:29

Muppet – great news that you can plan for Henry’s arrival a little more – think that will make a lot of difference to how you feel about it all…

Inzi – glad rash has gone and more importantly that all seems well with your lo.

Winnie – great news placenta has moved!

HMP – OMG at big baby! At least it made the decision easier for you though…. Love the new thread title too!

MrsFish – understand totally your frustration at everyone wanting to do stuff when your lo is due. Esp your dh! If mine suggested such a thing I would lose it completely!!! I had a similar thing a couple of months back before deciding on elective section – dh, mum and my sis were all asking about planning stuff and I ended up being ‘well I’m NOT choosing a section to make it easier for you to plan stuff – sorry if that’s selfish but I HAVEN’T decided yet – will let you know when I do!!!!!’

OK had just posted this on the old thread and thought I shoudl come find this new one instead!

HonorMatopoeia Mon 10-Sep-07 18:41:28

alicet - yes, much easier decision grin, especially when even the consultant says she thinks I'd struggle! Thank you so much for the info you sent through, it helped myself and DH formulate our questions for today.

Glad you're all finding the thread grin Wonder how many more we'll have before the last baby is with us?

Hi all,

Love the title of the new thread.

I thought that I would not get on for a while so text those whose numbers I had. Thanks to whoever it was that posted for me.

I am really pleased that the placenta has moved out of the way, so I can have the birth I want rather than a section.
The sonagrapher also measured the baby and she is spot on for the dates, so Community midwives have been getting it slightly wrong when they were using the tape measure. She also said that this LO has some hair already.

Did not need to see the consultant as everything was ok on scan. Need to make appointment for CM next week.

Hope everyone else is ok.

Will add myself to the stats list.

Thats great news Winnie J20 beat me to posting the news

j20baby Mon 10-Sep-07 19:47:54

hi everyone

love the new title

i'm so tired today, stupid selfish man friend making me sit in casualty for 4 hours! fell asleep at 4 and woke at 5.30 to do dd's tea. i don't know how i am going to cope after the birth if i am this tired and have lo to look after!

poor you lot for people going on hol when you need them, my mum has just signed for a new flat accross the Humber bridge from me, so don't know who'll be taking me to hospital when i go into labour provided that all goes well on wed and they don't book me in for a c section.

is it wrong to be annoyed that none of you live near me-not fair!!

inzi-glad your ok

hi to everyone else, think i'm going to have to go to bed early again tonight, although the earlier i go, the more trips i have to do to the toilet!

ChocolateHobnob Mon 10-Sep-07 19:48:48

Hi all

Love the new thread title Honor!

Honor, good job they did check out the size of the baby! It made me cross my legs just reading the full-term predicted size... Good to know what's coming, too.

Inzi - I'm so glad everything is returning to normal. You gave us all a shock! Specially me as I've not even bought most of the stuff I need on grounds that am only 32 weeks - you've shocked me into it.

Winnie - glad the placenta has moved! Yay. Waterbirth here you come.

Mrs Fish, I can imagine how you feel! You have the right to be cross. I hope everyone relents and becomes more available!

Lisa, Buffy, hope you two are doing okay. Lisa, those contractions sound horrid!

It seems like everyone's pretty much fed up now and waiting for the piglets to come, so to speak (!). I am still not ready and would like a bit of maternity leave before lo arrives! Today I was zombified at work - I have my own office so I even tried lying down on 2 chairs pushed together at one stage but it was just too uncomfy and also lo dances as soon as I lie down. Furthermore I'd been mainlining grapes and lo gets very excited by grapes (sugar high!). I lay down when I got home and am going to work at home tomorrow so I can nap over lunch. Also our baby furniture is arriving! Exciting!

This sounds like a stupid question, but when did you all get your pushchairs/travel systems delivered? I ask because people keep saying it's bad luck to have it in the house before baby's born but surely we need it so we can practise a bit with it? I've reserved it and just need to pay and decide on a date... any thoughts?

Hello to everyone and here's to a relaxing evening and a good night's sleep (!).

j20baby Mon 10-Sep-07 20:01:46

chochob(which by the way, your name is making me want to eat biscuits! ) i've had my pram and travel system for ages, can nobody have it at their house for you from a couple of weeks before your due date, like a neighbour?

lisad123 Mon 10-Sep-07 20:07:05

choc, they are horrible. They arent as regular now, but my poor hubby had to put up with a angry me when he got in from work Im so knattered, just not sleeping well.

I have to see my consultant on weds and having another scan. Im hoping he will agree to induce me (only by doing an ARM hopefully) at 38 weeks, if i get that far.
I dont think i can carry on much longer

I think im just having a bad day.

alicet Mon 10-Sep-07 20:21:46

Choc I have my double buggy in the house and have done for several weeks! I'm not superstitious though...

With ds1 we didn't have it until after he was born but only because I sent back the first 2 I bought! And had played with my mates that was the same so knew how it worked. I would get it at least a couple of weeks before if not more so you can make sure you're really happy with it as there is plenty of time then to change it if its not what you expected.

ejt1764 Mon 10-Sep-07 20:28:42

Evening all ... wow, this has been a busy thread today!

HMP - absolutely love the title!!

To all those having a sh!t time ... hugs and gentle pats - don't want to be too nice or we'll all start crying!

Went to see the midwife and the GP earlier ... all fine at midwife - she's coming to see me in 2 weeks time at home - she felt sorry for me having to struggle up to the clinic!

Then I saw my GP - the anaesthetist bloke only gave me a week's supply of the painkillers ... my GP has now given me 4 weeks supply of the paracetemol suppositories (hmmmm ... nice!) and 4 weeks supply of the codeine phosphate ... although he did warn me that if madam is born too soon after a dose, that she could have breathing difficulties - he told me the name of a drug they can give the baby to reverse the effects ... sounds like nox .. at the start - alice, do you have any idea what it's called?
He's also told me to get it documented on my notes ... and as I'm going back to the consultant (if he's there) tomorrow, I'll get it sorted then.

DH is away tonight ... ds is very unsettled tonight - everything has been rather dramatic! I'm not going to even attempt to keep him in his own bad tonight if he wakes, he can come into bed with me ... it only really happens when dh is away ...

love to all ... and yes, I'm getting all emotional the past couple of days too ... dh and I had a bit of a row last night - over his mother (so what else is new?)

Will post tomorrow - am just feeling too knackered to go over anything tonight!

HonorMatopoeia Mon 10-Sep-07 20:37:59

Choc, I've been staring at my lovely new buggy / pram for a couple of weeks now, infact it's even in the lounge at the moment as the babies room is being done!

ejt, glad you've got painkillers sorted and that your midwife is being so lovely. It really helps doesn't it? I sat in the consultants clinic for three hours today and my midwife kept walking past me, didn't aknowledge me once angry!

WTP, so pleased that your placenta has moved and the water birth is back on the cards, it must be a huge relief for you.

Lisa, hope the ocntractions don't become too painful, will be thinking of you.

J20 - hope you have a restful night!

Think I'm probably off to bed now as Dd joined me in bed at some ungodly hour this morning and I'm shattered. Rest easy everyone smile

muppetgirl Mon 10-Sep-07 20:54:00

Thanks Alice!

Hi all,

Had a good afternoon with Ollie and he seems to be wanting me again now dh has gone back to work after his week off. (Yippee!) He told me I was his best friend and sometimes that is all you need to forget all the aches and pains atm...

We played football outside -he ran, I waddled, then I met up with a neighbour and we sat outside whilst hers and mine and another neighbours girls all played. It was sunny, I had a cup of tea and a comfy chair. I am such a fishwife!!
(From the other thread, I felt a bit supersticious posting on here blush)

alicet Mon 10-Sep-07 20:54:16

ejt - think the drug you're thinking of is called naloxone.

Thats all I can cope with - off to bed now too! See you tomorrow.

Hope everyone has better nights sleep....x

j20baby Mon 10-Sep-07 21:00:31

mg-that so cute, saying your hid bf. dd hates me most of the time.

off to bed too, night all

ejt1764 Mon 10-Sep-07 21:03:12

thanks alice - just off to bed myself!

nos da pawb!

muppetgirl Mon 10-Sep-07 21:04:45

I am so stupid!!! I thought this was a post-natal thread that's why I said supersticious about posting.

Do you know, on Sat we went to buy Ollie some new school shoes (after I bought his 3 weeks earlier to be 'ready' and then he grew out of them!!) that I thought my hair had taken a long time to dry when I realised I hadn't washed the conditioner out. blush Think pure chip fat grease on long hair and your there....

I have a very bad case of prgt brain grin

jersey Mon 10-Sep-07 21:09:35

Hi, re the mum thing I have a list from my mother with dates when Bump is not allowed to arrive angry, told her he can't read yet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also told me don't have the baby yet as it will upset your sister who have just had a failed IVF attempt angry. This is the sister who hardly aknowledges DS2 and def not this baby. I know it must be hard for her but she can spend time with friends children but totally blanks her own nephews.

Sorry in a moaning mood as very uncomfortable and crampy at moment and sick of everyone expecting me to carry on as normal with a 3 and 1 yr old as well at nearly 37 weeks.
