Had anyone decided on which nappies to use yet? He's my first baby and I have no idea which are the best. Some of my friends say aldi but other friends say they're very plasticky

My friends all seem to vote for Pampers or Lidl's own, but it's my first too so I have no experience!

Tough 24 hours in my world, ended up back in hospital again last night with reduced movements although baby's heartbeat was strong which is good. Got emergency scan booked.

@dinosauraddict When's your scan? How you feeling? @whiskersonkittenss I'm going to try pampers and lidl and see which I prefer x

@Jesskir89 scan 3pm tomorrow. Still not feeling very much movement so quite worried. Going to get DH to take me out for dinner tonight to distract me I think! I might see which nappies I can buy in bulk in Costco and go from there! Grin

@whiskersonkittenss @Dinosauraddict With my daughter we always bought nappies at Tesco's, the price was very reasonable.. this was over 5 years ago mind. I believe pampers are overpriced and no better than the Tesco ones we used. This time we have an Aldi with us so I'll be buying those x

@whiskersonkittenss I did Aldi for first 4 sizes (on off pampers) I actually found them better than Pampers with DS as they seemed more of a better fit (he use to wee up his back ect). He's in size 5 now, pampers pull ups are the best choice for us right now, i went pull ups cause of potty training (same thing as pants I guess). I was thinking of going cloth this time actually, I was keen with DS and they have nappy banks where you can try them before you buy x

@Dinosauraddict Hope you're OK lovely, and they scan you soon. I had a slow day yesterday with baby but soon as I saw my mw baby was moving. Its really freaking scary.

We bulk buy from Costco, AFAIK Pampers are the only ones they stock but we get a good deal. They also do Huggies water wipes and the Pure water wipes in boxes (think it's 12 water wipes for 22 and 5 quid for the Huggies when on offer) xx

What wipes is everyone using when first born? Or would you use water and cotton buds?

I’m thinking of going down the reusable route for nappies and wipes. I’ve been looking at the Nappy Lady website and perhaps it’s naivety but I think it might be doable 🤷‍♀️

@Jesskir89 im going to use cotton wool and lotion. Maybe just water when he's first here

@atomcats Look out for nappy libraries near yourself lovely, I found two. I think initially I'll go with the bamboo nappies and then take baby to a nappy bank near me.

@Jesskir89 I think I used cotton wool and water, I took a pack of water wipes with me to hospital though. I was desperate to use Cheeky wipes (reusable ones) with DS but DH wouldn't let me, so this time I twisted his arm 😂 xx

Thanks everyone, I really need a handhold tonight. So basically, baby is rather large (90th centile), I have polyhydranimos (lots of excess fluid), they think I have GD, and the most concerning thing is that they've seen a 'shadow' which could possibly be fluid on the baby's brain. I've had 4 people review ultrasound scans from 2 different machines and they're all going 'ooh I think it probably looks ok, but I'm not sure and it might be fluid, or might just be a shadow'. So helpful. Got to go back Monday to see consultant, have another scan and let fetal medicine review. They've told me to try not to worry over the weekend - wasted bloody sentence that was!!

@dinosauraddict I'm sorry to hear you've had such a shit day. If course you're going to worry but you can only hope it's a shadow. Why do they think you've got GD? And if the baby's big what are their plans?

@Jesskir89 meeting with consultant Monday to discuss plans, but doesn't sound like I'll be going to 40 weeks. I don't want an ELCS though due to risk of infection (my immune system doesn't function properly) so it might be a case of being induced early I guess. I don't really know right now. They've also said that I'm at risk of premature labour anyway, so it might not even come to that. Re GD, large baby and polyhydramnios are both symptoms, and I was high risk anyway (due to slightly high BMI, and metformin for PCOS).

@Jesskir89 Atomcats mention the Nappy Lady website, basically she reccomends her quiz for which reusable nappies are the best to suit your life style (and you can buy kits from the site). I'd want to try before investing 100 odd quid on nappies so Nappy Libraries are set up so you can try before (like loan them). I live in Wales so near me I think I've got 2 and one that posts. So you'd get given a few brands and liners, and see how you get on.

I'm not sure on the nappies (think it's a bit daunting, you know?) but I really want to buy a cheeky wipes bundle near the time.

@Dinosauraddict Ah lovely I hope this is all unnecessary worry about baby and it all goes smoothly, it's super shit they've done this to you on a Friday, the consultant should of seen you today, just think it's cruel to leave your questions unanswered over a weekend. Big hugs x
