I did all the name labels on ds clothes as well last week , one less thing to worry about!
it took ages!!!!

I think I've gone OTT on the amount of uniform as doubt I'll feel like washing much in the first few weeks (nice to know that they can be handed down too!). What date does your DS start? DD starts on the Tuesday (5th I think). With the hormones think I'll be in floods was bad enough to take her to the settling in day! She's going full days straight away so good in one way as will have time for the baby.

Lucky you for full time days! My ds starts on the Wednesday (5th i had to check calendar) , goes 5 days until 12, then 2 days until 1.30m then the following week he is full time!
he wants to go all day straight away, he has been ready for ages, he is 5 in November!

He drives me mad when he is home but i know im going to miss him like crazy when he is at school just wanted him to be able to spend some time with baby before he goes!

I know if its a bit late in the day - but mind if I join?

I'm due on the 25th August - expecting a girl. I'm already getting texts, phone calls and e-mails from people - wondering if there is any news - so annoying!!

This is our first baby - I feel for you two having little ones going back to school you must be really keen for labour to start soon!

Hi Amester. I phoned DH at work this morning and kicked off the conversation with "Don't worry, nothing's happening". He relayed the message to the rest of the staff room as they were all predicting some action!

I feel like a time bomb.

Report
Amester · 20/08/2007 12:32

Hi Ceolas - I feel the same! I'm sure i've sent well meaning texts etc to friends in the past when they were near due date - but I guess you don't realise how annoying it is until it happens to you!

Amester

Welcome, my mum is doing this to. I wouldn't mind but this is my second. I'm expecting a phone call from her with the next hour, as she is going to my great aunts funeral this afternoon with my sister (i'm not allowed to just in case).

She afraid i will end giving birth alone as dd came quite quickly, and dh works a hour away.

Report
lizziemun · 20/08/2007 13:09

Sorry should have added i'm not due until 30th august. Athough dd did come a week early.

Hello. Hope everyone is well. I haven't been on for a couple of days but it didn't take long to catch up now everyone's off having babies/looking after babies. It was a good weekend for me. Baby started feeding really well after Friday so I'm really making good use of the nipple shields (ouch). Started waking him up for feeds in the day so I can get a bit more sleep at night. It seems to be working so far. Dh has spent most nights on the sofa so I can have Alex in with me. He just won't settle in the moses basket.

No worries banana. Glad James is now ok. I know what you mean about the baby blood tests. It's horrible to watch and not be able to do anything. What a pain that you have no time alone with your dp before he goes back to work. It will be lovely for you both at the weekend though.

Congratulations growingbagpuss. So pleased for you and your family. Look forward to seeing some pics of the long awaited little Evie. Don't know how you managed without gas and air. I'm so glad i had it through most of my contractions. Ran out just near the end and for most of the pushing.

Got my fingers crossed for you pink!

Birth Announcement for TokenTotty

Hi All, I am pleased to announce on behalf of Mr and Mrs Tokentotty, that Patrick Henry was born at 9.39am on Sunday 19th August, weighing 8lbs 6oz.

As labour wasn't progressing well, he was delivered by CS. TT is tired and feeling a bit battered, but is recovering well. Baby is fine and I can confirm that he is absolutely beautiful.

Hurrah! A playmate for TYG's baby.

Congratulations TT - and welcome to Patrick.

Back from hospital pre-op appt and all is well so just have to turn up at 7.30am on Thursday and wait for them to fit me in. I'm second on the list and so barring emergencies will probably be all done by 10.30ish.

Hopefullly we'll hear from Itchy soon as her CS was on Friday so she'll be home soon I imagine.

Well I had irregular, not very painful contractions last night. Nothing this morning though...

Met a woman at nursery yesterday who asked when baby was due. I told her Friday and she said "Oh that's really soon. Mind you, you look as if you're due on Friday". Thanks very much! And she has 3 children herself

pinkrangerstartstowaddle · 21/08/2007 09:18

i also had pains last night They were on and off for about 2 hours, then i fell asleep! This is going to sound such a STUPID question but where do your pains start, ( is there a certain area?) ds is 5 i have NO memory of this?

Thanks dal21 - it was sooooooo busy here the beginning of August, now we have tumble weed!
