There’s loads of us around, the Mumsnet thread seems to have been abandoned in favour of a facebook group these days

Report
Bellasblankexpression · 17/11/2019 22:14

I didn’t join the thread as I was too nervous having had previous losses so it’s nice to find a little gang here.
I’m also over it - I have the worst sciatica and am suffering with SPD. I also seem to have piled all of my weight onto my bump, bum and chin Grin

31st Jan here. I feel like I've been pregnant forever.

Cjo99 · 17/11/2019 23:26

@beingajen same here. Found out really early on and we have had everything ready for a few weeks now so it’s just a waiting game now😂Going to be a long 8 weeks...

@cjo99 you sound super organised - we are so not! I’m 32 weeks and not really got anything yet 😱

Have you got all clothes etc?

SleepingStandingUp · 17/11/2019 23:50

Me but they'll be here in Dec as planed C Sec. I'm so heavy 😩

Report
beingajen · 18/11/2019 06:21

@Cjo99 I knew really early too (within my body if not by lines in a window). It was all a bit of a surprise as the doctors had said my chance of getting pregnant naturally was less than 5%. So stopped being careful or planning. 2 weeks later.....
You are so organised. Just started a nursery and have ended out taking it and the bathroom next door to the studs. This baby needs to stay put for a bit.

Due 18th January!

Report
Brianna83 · 18/11/2019 08:23

@beingajen we're due date buddies! I'm 31st Jan too.

As many have said - get it out of me now. I'm done with this pregnancy lark.

I wasn't due to commence mat leave until 16th December (moving to another country - apparently I'm insane and like a challenge) but was signed off last week so now I'm lounging at home wondering what to do with myself.

How prepared is everyone? What have you bought or not bought?

Report
saltandvinegar1 · 18/11/2019 09:28

I haven't done anything! Due to go shopping next week for new born 0-3 bits.
Need to think about packing my bag but 2 things I've bought.
Cuddle dry towel
And a nod pod
It's a blanket with arms and legs safe to use in car seat.
Don't need to get main things as it's my second baby. DD is 3 xx

We have got a pushchair. And a couple of packs of sleepsuits. But that’s it 🤷🏼‍♀️

I really need to get a move on but we are moving house in two weeks 🙈 so keep thinking I will wait until after then! Hopefully baby doesn’t decide to come early!

Brianna83 · 18/11/2019 10:02

I'm the same and feel better having read your posts! I have the pram, car seat and crib but nothing else. I'm reliably informed that what I have plus some sleep-suits and a good shop in boots should see me through the first few weeks and then we can see what we need/want but I feel very unprepared!

Report
Bellasblankexpression · 18/11/2019 12:00

@Brianna83 snap I’ve been told that too but also feel completely unprepared! 🙈

@Bellasblankexpression I'm in the process of moving too and buying more stuff just doesn't sit right with packing boxes does it! It'll be fine. I'm sure....

Only 10 weeks to go to get everything sorted for us.. have 2 ds so with Christmas and then baby due 4 weeks later im Determined to get everything asap.

Starting hospital bag in next few weeks too.. although this is no3 for me im still questioning what i need for it.

Ordering the Pram tomorrow so least i can chill once thats done. Got a fair bit of clothes already, moses basket, steriliser and bottles, some nappies, relaxy chair, playmat...

End of January cannot come quick enough though, been measuring 4 weeks over since 24 weeks and baby is over the top line 🙈 i know growth scans/measurments can be out but im so heavy its ridiculous.

11th Jan for me, although I have a feeling she will come sooner.
Not sure why and no doubt I will be totally wrong and she will be late!
