We're really racking up the threads!

@easterbuns1 it's really shit. DH is really good if I ask him to help me, but I don't think he realises how crap it makes me feel to have to ask all the time. Or he'll do things without thinking like offer me a drink then leave it somewhere that I can't reach. Or offer to help me but keep wandering off to do something random.

Thank you for the new thread @Stroan
Sorry you are in so much pain - I am very grateful that I can still roll over easily and have no pelvic pain at all. I was convinced I was getting issues early on as was in a fair bit of pain in early trimester 2 but that seemed to stop as soon as I stopped riding the horse. I have been very, very fortunate thus far!

easterbuns1 · 22/07/2019 09:52

@Stroan yep mine is the same if I ask but I'm that stubborn I won't ask anyone for help unless I'm desperate (which is the stage I'm at now I suppose). I just wish he would take the initiative but he never does with anything so I suppose it's pointless me getting annoyed with him as it's just the way he is!

@Megan2018 I know you are still seeing to your horse but is someone riding him or her for you or are they fine having a break for a while?

Stroan · 22/07/2019 09:54

@megan2018 I definitely think it's worse in subsequent pregnancies. I had nothing like this first time round, still worked full time at 37 weeks and could easily walk 4-5k. I walked round primark yesterday and paid for it last night.

I feel like all I do on here is moan. So, some pregnancy positives:

My hair is SO thick and nice just now
DD is excited about her brother coming, which is cute
I get a year off work
Um, it's NEARLY over? Does that count as a positive?
I have some REALLY nice chocolate in my hospital bag, which no-one else would have ever bought me but I could justify because of the GD

@easterbuns1 they are having time off - no-one else I trust (or who is daft enough to offer) to ride her as she is quirky, strong, old and has injuries/issues that limit what she can do. Well that's not strictly true - I trust my instructor and there are 2 grooms too who would ride her, but I'd have to pay them and can't afford it.
It's a massive PITA as she is high risk laminitis and so has to have her weight managed carefully which is hard without exercise and also as she is almost 22 there's a possibility her arthritis will take over and I won't be able to bring her back to work after baby is here - but I've sucked it up as nothing else I can do and 22 isn't the worst age to retire if I have to.
I miss it desperately though! But imagine I'll have my hands full soon and it won't matter so much. Then in a few years I'll no doubt become a full time groom and dogsbody whilst my daughter rides instead Shock

Haha @Stroan "nearly over" definitely belongs on the list- as does the choc!! Thanks for the new thread too.

@easterbuns1 I know it's maddening to ask, but can you sit your DP down to explain just how shit it is, and how he could help? I'm lucky in that my DP is supremely considerate and goes out of his way to help me if I even look a little bit uncomfortable (and I'm lazy and moany so have no hesitation in accepting...) so it's easy for me to talk, but you deserve looking after! Besides, he is jointly responsible for getting you into this position, right?

IVEgottheDECAF · 22/07/2019 10:20

My dp is less than considerate. Hes never had much sympathy for anything. Always expects it though Hmm

He is getting on my nerves greatly atm.

I love the list of positives @Stroan - sometimes it feels like the 3rd trimester is full of moaning but we are so fortunate to be in this position! I’ve always felt that the last few weeks of pregnancy are gently readying us for the sheer sleep deprivation about to occur... 😂

Oh @megan2018 I hope the no pelvis pain stays that way for you! I have also had a pretty decent pregnancy I'd say but in the last week my pelvis and hips have become sore.
I realised one motion I definitely shouldn't do: say you are about to sit down on the sofa but the coffee table is too close, so you stretch your leg out to push it back...fuck, can't do that! And actually I seem to use this motion alot weirdly.

I'm fine rolling over in bed though thankfully.
Getting in and out of car is starting to become a chore but I can manage for now.

Positives (great idea @stroan)

My hair is less greasy and I can go more than a day without having to wash it!
When husband put all the wet baby clothes on the clothes horse it looked SO CUTE.
9.6 days left of work!

@Stroan sorry you’re struggling with pelvic/hip pain but as you’ve said, it’s nearly over so hopefully it goes away for you soon after the birth!

Loving the list of positives as I’ve definitely had a moany week!

Thanks for the new thread @Stroan.

Re pelvic pain- I'm struggling with turning over at night without wincing. Max 8 weeks to get through now though so I'm hoping I can get through them without it getting too bad.

Spent an hour or so on the ward last night being monitored for reduced movements. Typically baby went crazy as soon as the trace was set up and has been non stop today 🙄 4th time being monitored and always feel like I'm wasting their time.

@ivegotthedecaf mine is getting on my nerves for existing. And he's pretty good. Just not pregnant so he isn't going through enough suffering for my liking!

I'm sorry yours isn't very sympathetic though. Make sure you don't lift a finger next time he is ill and looking for sympathy!

@tefiti2 Yes! But no non-pregnant person is allowed to point that out. I do not want to hear it!

@db92 Well done for going in though, it’s always better to get checked and reassured - my midwife said she’d rather see someone 100 times and everything be ok then somebody not go in because they don’t want to be a pain and something is not right. Have you been offered a growth scan due to reduced movements? My hospital automatically book you in for a growth scan if you’ve been in 3 times for reduced movement.

Report
Stroan · 22/07/2019 11:24

@db92 good for you going in. Do they make you feel like you are wasting their time when you are there? That's not ok. The midwifes at my hospital are always very clear that they would much rather check women out and for everything to be fine.

Thank you for the new thread.

Got to say my 4 legged gang are also being expensive lawn mowers at the moment. They don’t seem to mind 😂.

Last few weeks seem to be hell. Same as last pregnancy. Been fine until literally about 3 weeks ago (31 weeks) and then it got worse. Still 35 weeks on Wednesday so not long to go.

I know it is only Monday but I so want this week to be over!

I’m in the office for 5 days this week as my director and Dean both away, been doing shorter weeks most weeks so this is going to be hard! Also my MIL arrives on Thurs until Sunday.

DH is very low contact with her for good reason (long story), and we’ve not seen her for about 3 years. She lives in Germany so not local. She and I don’t have a good relationship either – but DH wants to maintain some level of contact and I want to support that.

She is very excited about the baby so I am hoping she’ll be on good behaviour as I know this week is going to be hard for me. Its hot weather which I normally tolerate ok but I will be tired and working long days and I have never felt less like playing host in my life.

She’s coming now though at our suggestion as she wanted to come as soon as the baby is born to "help" (over my dead body!!) so we have compromised with a visit now, so I can’t complain about the timing really.

I bet she will go snooping in the house though, we moved in a year ago so she’s not seen it before. She arrives on Thurs and is having to be left in town until DH finishes work and can pick her up to take her to the village. On Friday she’ll be at home on her own all day as we both have to work (she insisted on coming for 3 nights even though we won’t be there). No public transport where we are to speak of and the “village” is tiny with no amenities so she’s not going to have anything to do. She says she is just happy to sit in the garden but it really irritates me that she’ll be there for some reason.

Her flight home is Sunday afternoon, so that’ll be the whole weekend gone really. Urrgghh. And afterwards DH will be a mess – he always is after contact with his family.

I know this makes me sound like a massive bitch, but she has caused my DH so much hurt over the years that it is all I can do to not punch her in the face tbh. I need to practice my fake smiles!

Thanks for the new thread @Stroan ! Sorry to hear you are in so much pain, that really is awful. You are just getting absolutely everything thrown at you in this pregnancy aren't you? When is your next appointment with the consultant?

I'm still moaning over here, in for my monitoring this morning and contractions coming through thick and fast. Also had to sit in a tiny, packed, boiling hot waiting room for nearly 1.5 hours and nearly passed out by the time I eventually went through. Back home now and supposed to be working but I just feel ill so going to sleep instead and see if I can do anything this afternoon instead! Positives for me in third trimester:

  • it's nearly over
  • my skin is super clear
  • hair is less greasy
  • my DH is being great (this could change if he breathes too close to me later though....)
  • my DD is getting very excited about her baby Brother's arrival

@happydays00 wow - that sounds awful! You really aren't having a great time either are you!
I am super scared of contractions so having them all the time must be exhausting. Can you not get signed off work at least for that? I'd definitely go to bed.

Stroan · 22/07/2019 12:54

@happydays00 nowhere near as hard as what you are dealing with. (Or all the others on here with SPD/PGP).

How often are you in for monitoring? Are you feeling ALL those contractions? It must be so exhausting.

Anyone else with tingly boobs? My DH said yesterday they've got bigger, and today I've definitely got tingly boobs like in the first trimester.

Thanks for the new thread stroan.

I’m feeling very lucky to have had a relatively easy pregnancy though I’ve still found it tough. Totally in awe of you ladies dealing with PGP, GD etc.

happydays that is a LOT of contractions. I’d take the rest of the day off sick if you’re able.

Ha - yes boodles my boob itching has come back over the last week. Hopefully the bras I’ve bought should be stretchy enough to accommodate a bit more growth, I find it really hard to tell how big they are, the bump makes me lose perspective!

@happydays00 I certainly couldnt working! I left early on Friday with only a little Braxton hicks.

I'm all up for positives!
° good skin, hair washing less.
° PGP started early this time but no where near as intense or frequent as my 1st!
° MW did my 1st birth case review today, I feel massive relief over heartbeat losses and some of the scarier interventions.
° enjoying my hypnobirthing pack
° Babys growth looks good thus far.
° End if work is at least on the horizon.
