(547 Posts)I couldn't see a new thread so started one, hope that's OK.
Massive congratulations @swiftfox. So exciting to have our first baby!
@swiftfox congratulations so happy for you! 💕
Congratulations @swiftfox hope you and your baby boy are home soon for lots of cuddles
Ooh our first baby! Congratulations @swiftfox.
Glad to hear the birth itself was positive and he sounds on the mend. When ds had jaundice he had a portable light by my bed on the ward. Is that a possibility?
Thank you for the new thread - the one with the babies!
Place marking.
Yay congratulations @swiftfox I'm so pleased for you. Sounds like you had an incredible experience! 🤞🏻your little boy can come home soon xxx
Thank you all - a reminder to definitely pack those hospital bags
@koalasatemyhomework I know right? There's such a huge variability between possible delivery dates! Hope your sticks in there a bit longer to avoid some of these jaundice issues.
@dinomamasaurus, he's 2.65 kilos. Not sure what that is in pounds. So he's a decent size for a 35-week baby. Bigger than the growth scan suggested, though he could've had a spurt in the last few weeks. My last scan was at 32 weeks which put him right in the middle of the growth chart.
He so lovely and so clever. Perfect baby
I am so pleased that our first baby is here safely ❤️ What a milestone. Hoping he’s in with you soon swiftfox!
Ahhh congrats Swiftfox! So happy for you!!
Thanks for the new thread and yay huge congratulations @swiftfox!! Your post about the birth made me feel quite emotional - so so happy for you and glad to hear things went smoothly. I didn't ever intend to have an epidural with my DD but it was actually those ahead of me on my MN group talking about their experiences that made me change my feelings about it, and I was so happy to have the option when it came down to it. Sending lots of love!
@swiftfox well we are so convinced our baby will be early that I'm pretty sure I'll be 10 days overdue now just so it can prove us wrong!
That sounds like a good weight. I hope the jaundice goes soon and you can have lots more cuddles!
And I was the same about epidurals the first time round - 100% didn't want one, but it was a long labour with DS1 and for the sake of both of us I ended up having one. Gave me some much needed rest!
Congratulations @swiftfox x
Place marking! Thanks for the new thread!
OMG so glad I found you guys .
@swiftfox congratulations!!!! I was anxiously waiting for an update from you . All sounds so wonderful
.
Would be curious to hear how you were left to labour for so long after your waters broke (without augmentation/ drip)? This is a big concern of mine as I’m v anxious to avoid synthetic oxytocin if poss. (However, I’m sure you have better things to do right now than respond to mumsnet queries haha!)
Our first baby guys. Looking forward to finding out who’s next xx
@swiftfox congratulations, it's all starting to feel a bit more real now 😬
Congratulations @swiftfox
Congratulations @swiftfox!
I've been off the thread since probably thread 3 lol but I'll be here once I've got more time on leave from work
I'm not due til 22nd June so I might even end up being in July
Yayeeee, congratulations @swiftfox !!
@swiftfox
Am so pleased for you and congrats on the arrival of your wee boy!!!!! Xxx
Congratulations swiftfox!
Congrats Swiftfox!
Welcome to the world Baby Swiftfox
@swiftfox congratulations! Makes it all very real. Won’t be long now!
35+5 and I didn't get an immediate seat on the tube this morning, grrr! Only had to wait one stop but I think I'm allowed to grumble 😉
I'm sure I'm way more mobile and "normal" than I was with my first pregnancy though, but definitely starting to run out of energy in the evenings now...and also freaking out about an early arrival if I overdo it...but there's just soooooi much still to do!!!
