Place marking 😊 just got my induction date as Monday and been told to expect to be holding baby by this time next week. Can't wait, 3 days past EDD, so ready for baby to be out!

Congratulations @Leonora94! A good size and a lovely name Smile

39+5 today and baby still not engaged at all. Anyone else still waiting for baby to drop? I’m hoping it doesn’t mean I’ll go way over... This is DC3 so maybe that’s why.

NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking · 15/02/2019 14:48

@Susannach I’m one day overdue and not engaged, also on my third child.. apparently it’s not unusual for them not to engage until you’re actually in labour.

Congrats @Leonora94 😊

Congratulations to all the new arrivals! I'm finding it difficult to keep up now 😂
40+1 and been induced today so just waiting now 🙈

@Susannach I'm 38+2 with my first and no sign of the baby engaging. It is at least the right way up.

@DeliberatelyGinger and @NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking sounds like we’re all in the same boat! I’m going to go for a walk once the kids are in bed and get swivelling on my ball, even though I really just want to slob out and sleep!

Best of luck AutumnLee!

My first two were well over their date, so I wasn’t expecting to be early..

I’ve been painting some woodwork in my bedroom today, am now fitting some blinds and curtains (stuff that should’ve been done way before now 😂), Christ knows what the neighbours thought whilst I was getting my DIY on 😆

Finished work today. Finally. Half term could not come quick enough this week. Left ridiculously late though as packing up and clearing out took much longer than I thought it would! OH working this weekend and mum away so baby has to stay in for 3 more days and then it will be operation curry/pineapple/walk and bouncing on the ball!

@bubblybrit sorry I just saw your message on the other thread. When your milk comes in baby doesn't need to suck as hard so should get easier. Sorry to hear you've got a cracked nipple. You can feed on the other side and hand express to relieve any discomfort for a day if you need to instead of using bottles to let it heal. They do heal quickly. Especially with lanisoh and milk on them to help heal.

Congrats to those that have had their babies! My baby was engaged at last midwife appointment (4th) but she said with subsequent pregnancies baby can pop in and out so not a sure sign so don't
Be too disheartened! Baby has been head down for ages and feels very low but I haven't had any signs at all!! No plug or anything like that! 38+1 today but my others were all born at 38 weeks so hoping this little one won't keep me waiting too much longer!!

39+6 and sick as a chip . Sleeping has been awful for months but it's almost impossible now. I know we're supposed to be lying on our side but the baby is just kicking right off tonight when I do! 😑 been in agony most of today but no signs of labour, midwife did 2nd sweep fri morn , heads still engaged but cervix still closed, feels like I'm guna be pregnant forever !

mummymummymummummum · 16/02/2019 06:49

40+6. Went for a second attempt for a sweep yesterday, but still not possible. Small consolation: Bishops Score was 3 (it was 2 on Wednesday). So I'm very jealous of those of you having sweeps at 30-something weeks!

Still bouncing on my ball and trying to walk as much as my toddler will allow me to!

Place marking...

38 + 4 and no signs of anything happening yet, midwife says I'm 3/5 engaged, but likely to 'bob' in and out as second baby. Next appointment at 39+6 but midwife said she won't be able to perform a sweep as I won't technically be due - has anyone had a sweep before 40 weeks?

Report
NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking · 16/02/2019 09:56

I was told the same... although, I wouldn’t want a sweep before I was due anyway, they’re probably just not ready 🤷🏻‍♀️

Report
AngelaB06 · 16/02/2019 09:58

Agreed, just seemed odd that some others seem to be having them early. My first was 10 days late so expecting similar and any earlier is a bonus!

Congrats everyone who has had their babies

Sorry I have been a bit quiet

Sadly my baby girl was stillborn on 13 February. I came in on 9 Feb worried above movements and they couldn’t find a heartbeat. I’ve been in hospital since then and have spent some time with my baby girl. Going home today which will be difficult but I wish all the best to the rest of you in case I disappear from the group at some stage (I’m not sure I will I just haven’t been on and reading all the updates for obvious reasons)

@AliceRR oh my god, I’m so sorry... every parents worst nightmare.

I can’t say anything that will mean anything to you, or help at all.. but just know there’s a complete internet stranger wishing you all the best. I hope you got some photos of your beautiful baby girl. What have you called her?

So sorry @AliceRR, heartbreaking news. I can't imagine what you are going through, but hope you are bearing up as well as you possibly can be and that you have good support around you. X

We called her Ruby

We have pictures and hand and footprints. The hospital put together a memory box and a photographer came in from Remember My Baby to take some photos. People have been so lovely.
