Thought I'd start up a new thread as the old one has run out of space.

Also, sorry I've not been very present on here. I've been so busy and Mumsnet threads seem to move so fast. I've got my scan on Monday, luckily at 8.30am so get it out the way first thing. After that I'll join the FB group as I find it easier to keep up.

I'm still in a Mumsnet Group on FB from November 2016 and they are all so supportive and lovely.

Hello, I was wondering if I could join you. I've been lurking on the sept thread but it now turns out that my baby is sneaking into August due on the 30th August. Though I'll be having an elective c section anyway at 37 weeks as my first baby girl was stillborn in October so I just want this one out safe

Thanks for the new thread bobcat

I don't particularly feel pregnant anymore, no more breast tenderness and sickness seems to have gone completely. I have had heartburn a couple of times, usually at night.

Hope you feel better soon Whichoneisit Flowers

I am also feeling less pregnant, nausea seems much much better, and no more boob pain. I remember this from last time though, and we should definitely make the most of it as once we hit the third trimester the aches and pains will be back Grin

Can I ask if anyone has been consultant led? If so what can I expect from my first appointment?

My midwife told me he would decide if I stay with him or go to midwife led, but I don't get the criteria for it?

Hello everyone. We had our scan today. Amazing to finally see baby - could actually see its heart beating. Measuring at 13+2 so due date have moved forward a bit to 7th August. Lots of moving around, looked like it was hicupping 💗

On screen measuremts all low risk. Just got to wait for bloods.

Thanks for the new thread @bobcat85

@k4rlyb I'm 'consultant guidance' whatever that means but no mention of actually seeing one so I'd be interested in what feedback you get.

As for symptoms. I've not really had any. Not even been sick once :/ it's made me really anxious if I'm honest. Would like to actually feel pregnant so I know everything is ok.

Thanks for the new thread.
12 w scan will be a week tomorrow, when i'll be 11+6 - this feels like the slowest 12 weeks ever!

Thanks Bobcat for the new thread.

Horton, if you're reading this thread, I'm very sorry for your loss.

Sparkles, good luck with the Iona test today. I hope you don't have to wait long for the result.

I'm 14 weeks today and have switched to maternity jeans/leggings/trousers. I already had them so thought I should make use. If we get a reasonable summer, I will be too hot to wear the jeans for the whole pregnancy and I want to get my money's worth! Very comfy they are, too.

I can feel the baby moving. I thought I could at the weekend, but it might have been wind! Can definitely feel the little squirmy movements when I lie on my back in bed. It makes the whole thing seem more real, as I can remember the feeling from last time (although I didn't identify it until a couple of weeks later).

@Beanmama18 I've got my appointment in 2 weeks, so will report back. I haven't got a clue what to expect at all. The midwife said they will see me instead of me seeing her at 16 weeks

Hello,

Might I be able to join the Facebook group? I struggle to keep up on mumsnet it seems.

Had my booking in appointment last week. Was all fine apart from me knowing my midwife which is totally my own fault as my mouth apparently has a mind of its own and instead of saying I’d like to see someone else I said I’d love to see the girl I know.. 🤦🏼‍♀️

Thanks for the new thread!

@k4lyrb I am also consultant led! I was last time and they actually only saw me once and organised an extra growth scan in 3rd trimester and then said I could be referred back to midwives. I was then transferred back to consultant later on due to issues!

This time round I have my 1st consultant appointment tomorrow so will see what they say and let you know!

To anyone who's had NIPT testing - did you have the extra 'microdeletions' tests or just the standard 3 (Downs/Edwards/Patau's)? I wasn't going to have the extra microdeletions but I've stupidly just looked these syndromes up and terrified myself. I'm having Serenity testing so it's an additional £70, and feel like if I'm already paying £350 for the basic test that I might as well have the extras. But I don't think Harmony and IONA branded test even offer the microdeletions so maybe I'm panicking over nothing? I'm booked in tomorrow for the test, any advise would be really appreciated!

@babydreaming, that would be great if you could please, least I know what to expect. But I suppose everyone is different to why they are there for, could be different for everyone.

@k4rlyb I am consultant led and met with one of the consultants last week after my 12 week scan.

I was referred due to my BMI. She talked through my pregnancy (made me feel a bit shit about myself) and then put me on a daily aspirin to reduce risk of preeclampsia and has scheduled in extra growth scans at 28, 32 and 36 weeks. I also have to see them again after my 28 week scan.

Other than that nothing to much to report. There are lots of different reasons for being consultant led. In my area if you want anything other than gas and air during labour you would have to be consultant led.
