Nixen what do you get included in the Harmony package altogether? With my booking in not until 10.5 weeks I'm thinking of taking matters into my own hands and getting the Harmony test

Flybynight I went for the package at the FMC, so it’s a scan and Harmony test at 10 weeks and then go back at 12 weeks for the results and a nuchal scan. My booking in appointment isn’t until 11w 5d so I don’t have much faith my NHS 12 week scan will be done in time for nuchal measurements! The package was £400 from the FMC in London.

Sorry typo I’ll be 10w 5d at my booking in appt, not 11w 5d

Nixen same. Last time I got my dating scan just a couple of days short of the cut off date for screening and that was after an 8 week booking in so this time I can see things slipping seriously. At 33 years old I know it's not mega geriatric but still higher risk and I don't want to be left not knowing. £400 is cheaper than I was expecting! Will look it up here

Mona I wish dd could play mine craft on her own. It's always sat on my lap crying if the sun starts to go down if I don't get in the house immediately and no mining allowed, but I must get diamond armour.

I think I'd rather be on skyrim too, but ds would be too upset. You've inspired me to re download fable 2, I reckon dd will love helping me pick an outfit and it's not too scary.

The booking in appointments are really starting to come around now! Mine is a week friday and dh has taken the afternoon off so no ds clattering around while I try to focus.

CuppaSarah I loved Fable 2. The girls have been into guiding me around Skyrim. They’re too scared to play but love to watch me play. I call it a family activity when I’m feeling horrendously lazy.

I’ve cleaned up, made lunch and now feel utterly sick. I might leave DH in charge and go have a nap because I have loads of uni work to get done tonight before tomorrow so as soon as the girls go to bed I need to be in the zone. Tried to get some reading done today but everyone wanted something the minute I sat down so that’s a no go.

Marking place: 6w3d here and absolutely full of windBlush Doesn't help that I'm at work and am having to leave the office every so often to avoiding stinking my poor colleagues out! Had it bad with DS too so taking it as a good sign!

Hello!

Thanks for creating the new thread.

Does anyone else have a EDD of 30th Sept? The doc pushed mine back a day than what i'd predicated. x

Hi all. Joining the new thread. Hope everyone is ok. I am going through a panic phase but have my second scan tomorrow when I’ll be 8w3d.

@PumpkinPatch000 I am expecting to be in the category of high risk who will be offered the harmony test free by my hospital (because of my age). I had it for my previous baby when it was still a bit experimental.

PumpkinPatch000 · 28/01/2018 13:31

@secondsap how did you find it first time around? I'm thinking of getting it done privately. Hope all goes okay lovely.

Pumpkin I meant to comment earlier to say the estimated date from your LMP will be updated once you have the dating scan. Mine was nearly a week out last time (I had irregular periods but was charting and knew what date I ovulated but the MW still wanted to know cycle length which put them out but my date was spot on to the dating scan age), it's just an estimate anywho!

Place marking! Had my GP appointment on Friday, now waiting to hear from midwife. EDD 20/09. I'm 39 but new to all of this and have recently moved so I've no idea what tests I'll be offered!

DH really wants to tell his parents. But I feel really uncomfortable going public before anyone's checked things are OK !

Place marking! Can't believe we are on thread 3 already! 8 weeks today, can't say I'm feeling very pregnant at all today, but I am instead feeling very flu-ey. So I'm hoping that's the reason for the lack of symptoms!

Hi place marking. I'm thinking of having the nuchal scan and then maybe harmony after x

Report
Secondsop · 28/01/2018 13:39

@PumpkinPatch000 I was glad I had it - for my first baby (pre harmony test) the scan and calculations came back quite high risk of downs (combination of relatively high age plus no nasal bone visible - the nuchal measurement was fine) and I had to decide whether or not to do an amnio (I didn’t in the end) so it was great 2nd time around to have the accuracy of the harmony test and not have to consider an invasive test.

Here's a very unhelpful tip that I've discovered - getting a water infection really takes your mind off the sickness... Oww.

Report
Shook2018 · 28/01/2018 13:58

I don't think Harmony tests are NHS here but I've decided not to take nuchal tests either anyway. First pregnancy, and I'm 29. This wouldn't make any difference to my continuing with the pregnancy personally, and so I don't see the need for it myself, but it's such a huge thing to think about isn't it?

Place marking

Have got my booking in appointment on Friday and having a private scan on Saturday.

The Saturday is my dads birthday and as long as the scan goes well we're gonna wrap a scan photo for him for a present to announce it to my family so I can finally stop hiding it all!

It's all starting to feel a little real....
