I've been having cramps on & off for a few weeks - I think they're just amplified BH... I want him out NOW
I spent most of yesterday afternoon in the maternity assessment centre being monitored, prodded & poked. Pregnancy doesn't agree with me so why hasn't my body shifted into gear?! Do I need to send it a memo!?
Gah. It seems my grumpy mood continues. Anyone have any happy news?
No baby news here. 6 days overdue and even my fake labour symptoms have stopped! I'm booked for induction on Monday and am starting to think that's looking more and more likely. Making myself get out and about today - I've wasted too many days of maternity leaving sitting here waiting and feeling miserable!
Spent a lot of last night in the assessment unit too being poked and prodded. Cervix is soft but I'm a grand total of zero cm dilated.
I've had a bit of brown discharge this morning. I don't know whether to phone the midwife or not as it was probably just being checked last night that caused it.
I'm 40+1 now. Started to get period like pains on my left side yesterday but nothing so far today. I've had a metallic taste in my mouth for the last two days, which I know some people get in early pregnancy (I didn't), so not sure whether that's a sign that something will happen soon (wishful thinking I'm guessing!). Seeing my midwife later for my 40 week check up.
What's your pelvic pain like redken? Mine are like the period pains that I've been having on and off the last few days but taken up a few notches. If fanny daggers and bad period pain had sex and had a baby this would be it.
I don't think it it's labour as I was only half a cm dilated as of yesterday and also this doesn't seem to follow a pattern - so I can't really time it. I'm just all around achy and feeling incapacitated all I want to do is lie down on the couch...
Another member of the start/stop pre-labour club here! 40 weeks today - been having period pain type cramping for the last three evenings but it always stops by the morning. Also have brown discharge after sweep yesterday which I stupidly asked midwife to stop when she said she thought she could try to get two fingers in to do a stretch and sweep. She said to expect some spotting so not concerned about that. Have tried a v spicy curry, RLT and bouncing on a ball today but all cramping has stopped now so not sure what is going on!
I had a few sharp pains before I went to bed last night and then woke up in fucking agony! Very frequent very strong contractions , got ready and went in. 6cm on arrival and baby born 5 hours later
seems to have eased off for me now Red - wish it was easier to know if it was real or false labour this is so frustrating!!. Something unmistakable like 'if your nose turns green then it's real labour'
lol this is my first time - a colour changing belly or nippple would be fantastic. i feel so stupid when these pains happen - i wonder is this something ?? ahaha.. I was trying to think of how to describe the pain, its kinda like pressure in my nethers... ? weird..
Lillian - have you got a lot left to do? I have left my labour bag by the door, put some sweets in my cool bag (not sure what else to put in there - maybe a cigar haha) still have a few bits to put away in the other room and doing some cleaning so I dont have to do it when the baby is here.
