Thanks bee.

Got a busy day today and head just will not wake up! I'm like a zombie.

But at 15+4 I think I can tell that the baby is awake. I had felt nothing since the initial fluttters a few days ago. But yesterday and today I've had a couple of bouts of something completely different. Like bean is trying to poke and tickle me (admittedly very lightly) from the inside. With this bring my first I wasn't expecting anything until 18 weeks!

Hi all,

I've been very quiet since first posting - a combination of anxiety following a mmc in November, moving house and my Dad ending up in hospital for a month. It's been busy! I've still been catching up on the threads when there has been time - you are a chatty lot Smile

Anyway, successful 12 week scan last Tuesday where baby was wriggling about so much the sonographer had trouble getting measurements! Got Harmony results back last Monday and everything was fine. We also found out - Team Pink!!! So excited, I have a 15 almost 16 year old DS so it will be lovely to have a little girl in the house.

Hope everyone is starting to feel a bit better now we're into the second trimester Hmm

Blackandwhitecat3 · 22/07/2015 11:04

Hi Smyth and congrats on your results.

Re headaches - it's worth getting your vision checked out at the opticians - pregnancy can alter your prescription. not that I've managed to get around to that yet

Our builders have just finished and gone, so peace and quiet again here at last.

Yeah same here blackandwhite, thank goodness they've gone.

I made an appointment with Specsavers then cancelled it because I felt too pukey. Must try harder!

Great news on the harmony results smyth and welcome to Team pink Smile I have two boys and dh so it will be lovely to have a little lady in the house.

B&W glad your bulders have gone - we get our house next Wed so have all that joy yet to come! Got to find some decent builders first - I had massive falling out with the last one we used! We need to get the loft conversion (two beds and a shower room) and bathroom plus ensuite done, before baby arrives.... no pressure!

Good reminder about the opticians, I think I'm overdue anyway, although my eyes are usually fine. Need to also register with a dentist so when I get my form from the midwife I can get free check up etc.

Blackandwhitecat3 · 22/07/2015 12:07

kep eek! Good luck!

No sign of my FW8 form despite filling it in with the midwife at booking in SIX weeks ago. I have a ppc so keen to get my refund Hmm. Next mw appt tomorrow.

does anyone else find that having my scan at a swimming baths is weird? haha

Report

That is quite weird MissMartin! How come?

Welcome back smyth.

Had to do my first clexane injection this morning! It really stung. Is anyone else on clexane? Does it always sting like that or will it get better when I'm used to doing it?!

Just marking my place, thankyou for the new thread :)

Exactly 14w today, still feeling extremely tired and I'm not surviving without my afternoon nap at the mo.

I have a prepaid card too b&W didn't know you could get a refund once you get your maternity card.

Thanks bee! Have fingers crossed for scans today, and congrats smyth, glad to hear after a stressful few weeks you've had some good news Smile

Headache's still lingering but isn't making work too difficult. Jealous of those of you with bumps already, I have a feeling mine's a long way off yet... think I can feel something quite low down but nothing even slightly visible to the human eye. I'm telling a few colleagues quietly but don't feel comfortable telling many people yet, not least because I don't want tons of people telling me they 'can't tell' which I've already had several times!

Like the idea of signing off with how far along we are, lutrinae. I'll join in.

13+5

Wowzers! So much action on here, I can't keep up!

Thanks for the new thread bee!
Had a terrible headache on Saturday but find it improves after drinking water.

Sorry if I can't catch up with everyone's news but...

fourlegs Hope you're doing ok with the 1/100 for Turners, it may still turn out to be nothing but hopefully a diagnostic test will provide clarity.

fisher So chuffed your results came back fine!! Hope they get to the bottom of your hcg making machine!

sleepy I first suspected I was having a girl when my forehead broke out in tiny spots early on in pregnancy. Had fantastic skin with DS. Harmony confirmed we are having a girl. Smile

zipporah Hi & welcome! I'm over 40 & had a baby last year too. I thought I was only going to be able to have one so am really thankful to have 2 if all goes well!

Hi again smyth & congrats on your great scan & test results.

Thanks for the new thread bee place marking!! Grin
Has anyone bought any maternity work trousers? Dunno which brand to go for...am walking round the office unable to do up my trousers and just a long-ish blouse covering the top of my waistband Blush Could prove embarrassing!

Report
lilyb84 · 22/07/2015 14:10

Yokyil I've got New Look ones, they're perfect (if slightly too big for bumpless me right now). I'm on the shorter side though so they probably wouldn't suit anyone taller than 5"5 (I didn't select a leg length so not sure if that's their only size...).

Just checking in and marking my spot.

What is it about pregnancy and headaches - I'm going with the dehydration theory, doesn't seem to matter how much I drink though.

I am now 5 days without voming, could this be the 'other side'?

Productive meeting with my director on the work stuff, they have completely retracted all the 'performance' accusations. I can't recommend ACAS enough for advice on the phone about work issues. I am still documenting everything and challenging them on the reasons for being treated differently, but it does at least feel like progress!

Properly showing bump now and noticeable to work colleagues even in my floaty tops. Quite like it though now (at least before I get ridiculous sized).

I haven't seen babybabynamechange on here since that difficult time at the start of the month, if you are still checking in, I hope you're ok Flowers

Report
crumble74 · 22/07/2015 14:18

yokyil On my work trousers I used to leave top button undone & held together with hairband, which I then covered with a bump band! I can still do up the button this time round but I think my trousers have stretched Wink.

We're going so fast through these threads!

Welcome back Smyth, glad things are looking up for you.

Thanks crumble. DH and I going with the line "we're the fishers, we're weird". Poor DH has a very rare Neuro condition so we are used to going to hospitals and being told something is weird. Doesn't make it less worrying unfortunately.

I have a new tactic and tip for clothes. Went to TKMax last night after work and got two dresses, one for work and one really lovely floor length one for another wedding this weekend. Both for £40! I'm a tight arse and it bugs me buying bigger stuff when I hope (definitely just hope) that the extra size will only be necessary temporarily. I find dresses more comfy at the mo, while tummy not quite big enough to hold maternity trousers

Report
Blackandwhitecat3 · 22/07/2015 14:32

Good news Ready, in the 5 days and the progress with the work stuff.

After my two good days, I'm pretty exhausted today. I can feel a siesta coming on Smile

So, so far the skin theory seems to be correct then LOL

I've just been told i am having a boy by the office bignose because i crave savoury food not sweet food and have good skin....

Clothing wise, i've already given up on jeans, i have 2 pairs of maternity jeggings from matalan (?10 each) which are comfy but thats it, i tried a pair of maternity jeans but they felt awful!

I'm living in the jeggings or my susal leggings (which are high waisted any way so act as over the bump leggings) and dresses which i have bought in normal sales just a size bigger than my usual size.

(14+6.... the big 15 tomorrow eeep)
