Bangles yep you read correctly. He was back to back which slows things right down, the drip they give you to speed it myself and baby both reacted badly to it so they had to take it off. They offered me a section 3 times as it was taking so long but my fear of cuts made me refuse it unless baby was distressed. He was fine until the last few mins then they whipped him out with forceps....all worth it though

Viper I got an amazing diamond eternity ring....the first thimg dh said was 'you can order that ring when you get home, you deserve it' I better have an easy ride this time as there is nothing expensive I fancy this time......I did have a mobile epidural so I felt all contractions without the pain so it wasn't too bad to be honest.

The worst part was the pains at home that didn't get closer together (hense reason I am thinking tens machine this time) it was tedious as I couldn't get comfy to sleep butvthey got no worse or closer

Memphis that is a long labour and you certainly deserved that ring. Here's hoping that what they say is true and second labours are much shorter. My first labour was quite short (8-9 hours) and I didn't really twig that I was in labour for the first couple of hours so I'm a bit worried that this labour will be super quick and I won't have time to sort things out; get someone for DS, get DH home from London (it'll take him 1.5-2hrs to get home), get the midwives over... I'd actually be happy if it was the same amount of time again.

I honestly feel I have no choice, I had keyhole surgery at 28 weeks last time and these tiny cuts had to be covered snd re dressed by nurse, dh, my mum as until they completely healed I couldn't bear to look at them it used to make me sick and faint! So cannot imagine a scar that they make you clean yourself in front of them before you go home

'What if I have to delivery my own baby on my kitchen floor!! It's not even very clean!' That's my panic thought at the moment, the thought that keeps me awake at night

Bagofsnakes I suggest mopping your floor every week just in case

Last night I lay awake for hours worrying about my duvet and pillows. I was consumed by the thought of needing to wash them. They won't fit into my washing machine, do I take them to get dry cleaned? To a laundrette with a massive washing machine? But how will they dry in this weather?!
Haha I was properly stressing about it too! Pregnancy brain is weird :D

Han, it may actually be cheaper to buy new ones than dry clean- I took a duvet once and was at the price. A laundrette might be cheaper but there aren't any near me.

peppermint our duvet and pillows are quite pricey (goose down etc, wedding gift) so really don't want to chuck them! I've just looked at a local place which washes duvets for 12 quid, which is waaaaaaay cheaper than the duvet haha. They just need a bit of a refresh

Oooh hello, new thread, thanks hanflan!

Got my 24/25 week midwife appointment today (not sure what point it's suppose to be at, but I'm 25 weeks tomorrow). Seem to have cracked the sleep problem I'd been having by wedging pillows by my back to keep me on my side. I still wake up needing the loo about four thousand times, but I'm not snapping awake on my back feeling panicked anymore. Score.

After a long chat with a physio, my GP, and yoga instructor I'm going to tentatively raise the prospect of an ELCS today with my midwife. There's a 90% chance I'll be judged harshly, right?

Haha, it's major surgery and costs the NHS more money, so of course they will try to change your mind. But stick to your guns!

never know frenetic- you've clearly done the research and got advice already- i'm sure they just frown on people that want ELCS's because they don't fancy the pushing!

My 24/25 week appointment isn't until Monday- Will be 25+2 by then. Hey ho- it's my own fault for demanding the first appointment of the day- nothing available any earlier unfortunately

My app says third trimester is the start of week 29... but some people say week 28? Around then anyway. So soon! eeeek!

is it a case of semantics- like if you're 28 weeks, your 28 weeks, but at 28+1, you're in week 29 of pregnancy

Wow time flies when your having fun.
Had a busy day yesterday. It was the little ones 2nd bday who I look after so we went to Marsh farm. I'm absolutely shattered.
Spent most of lady night and today in pain. Panicking thinking it was labour as pIn would increase for a bit on and off. Turns out I have a UTI. Oh my lord it's agony.

Can you believe how close we're getting to the 3rd trimester now?! All those things that I forgot about are starting to creep back now, my feet are killing me and becoming swollen. But on a plus it's so nice to feel and see the baby's kicks getting bigger and bigger. Could definitely feel it's bum the other day with my hand

DD and I have decorated the fireplace with Halloween bits and are going to have our own little party later watching hocus pocus and eating party food in our pjs

I have just been looking at the diary and it still feels like a really long time to go! I suppose the only saving grace is the fact Christmas is in the middle! I don't know how I am going to cope with the excitement of counting down for that long....
