My bump has popped BIG time! Went into work today and was offered the following comments: "Is it twins?" "Are you sure you're due in March and not January?" "Bit big for 9 weeks".

Ok, so we've had a call from the nifty clinic, results are in, apparently baby is low risk for everything (waiting for DH to get back so I can read the email and see the actual numbers but they said low risk yay) and...... At 11 and a bit weeks I can tell you baby is a girl

Found you! Grin

Had my booking appointment this afternoon at the hospital. Was a bit weird...started off thinking I really didn't like the MW (quite abrupt and unsmiley), that feeling then only got worse when I asked about reviewing my notes from my last labour and she basically shouted at me and told me in no uncertain terms that I should've done something about it straight after DS was born rather than leaving it until now...Shock

Anyway, not sure how it happened but I ended up coming away thinking she was actually quite good! She's going to speak to the consultant about making me an appointment to review everything and she also gave me the phone number of the Trust counsellor to self-refer to if I want to talk to someone about how I feel about the birth. I am classed as high risk now because of what happened last time but hopefully all it means is that they'll keep a slightly closer eye on me.

Oh, and I got my nuchal scan date - 10th September! Grin

Congrats on your results Zyla - let's hope that becomes the case for all of us! Smile

Congratulations Zyla! How on earth do you know the sex? I thought it wasn't possible before 20 weeks?

I'm so far behind on the thread :( I need to go read and catch up. Don't leave me behind!

Hope everyone is ok and getting through the sickness. 11 weeks here and still have several periods a day of sickness and dizziness but there's definite respite. Still completely dog tired - posted in the FB group about it making me so grumpy. Literally have no energy for poor DS.

ZebraZeebra - DC2, DD 10 March.

zebra it's cos they did genetic testing with traces of the baby's blood they find in my blood, so they test for the common genetic abnormalities, downs etc and can also test to see if there's any Y chromosome in there, if thee is it's a boy, if there isn't it's a girl. It's 99% accurate for gender I think :)

Wowsers! Can you request to know or not or do they just tell you?

Yay found the new thread Grin

Still no booking in appointment or Scan date & can't chase it up again until Friday so I guess it will be another week before I hear anything Angry

I now have a noticeable bump & if it gets any bigger ill be able to use it to rest my brew Smile
I think I'm 11 weeks now though not 100% sure on that as when I went to EPU they said 8 1/2 and that doesn't match up at all with when I dtd iyswim Confused aaahrghh so confused .

Also for some insane reason every time I eat something with Additives or flavour enhancers etc in I seem to be able to taste them all its just weird , does anybody else get this

You request to know the gender or not, they won't find out if you want a surprise :)

Congrats Zyla, how exciting to know what you are having already!
To those that said they won't tell dc's til 20 weeks, will you not be telling friends/family and discussing it with them? Dd would pick up on it straight away. She's 3 1/2 and I'm going to tell her after 12 week scan if all goes well. I think she'll be excited, well I hope so anyway and it's already hard enough not talking about it in front of her.
On the cloth nappy front, had my sister round earlier and she's thinking of using them. When I mentioned you can't use the vast majority of nappy creams with them she didn't know, so I thought I'd mention it here. There are a couple you can use, I'll have to recheck nearer the time but I think burts bees do one.

I have literally just looked up the nifty test online and they do it near me for 350. No way will DH agree to it!
DH is going to our local council meeting tonight to see if our planning permission for a granny annexe is passed (along with indoor swimming pool!). Fingers crossed it will!
All being well (as well as land purchase that we need to do), building commences March 2015!?!?!? We're no strangers to it - We started our kitchen extension 3 weeks after DS was born in January 2012! Just like Grand Designs - the channel 4 programme when everyone either falls pregnant half way through the build or have just had a baby at the beginning (so i've noticed).

Haha junk I always told DH that if we couldn't get pg we'd go on grand designs for that very reason! Good luck with the planning permission.

Welcome kitten!

DS is only 21 months so there's not really much to tell that he'd understand. We've told most of our family and some friends. I always hated having to do the big secret and big reveal.

Great news Zyla, so exciting!

Hello Kittenmamma

Thanks for starting the new thread toast.

We'll have to tell the DCs after the 12 week scan if all is ok. They're 6 and 4 so will definitely pick up on it.

Still feeling rubbish first thing and can't face cooking at the moment, DH is having to fend for himself and I'm living on toast! Also seem to hit a huge wall of tiredness at around 3pm each day and feel as though I could sleep standing up. Looking forward to the blooming bit in the 2nd tri!!
