Phew! Just been for my whooping cough injection. This baby has been going non stop today! Lots of kicking and wiggling.
Sorry to hear people are struggling with house moves/renovations. I can't think of much worse in this heat!

Thanks for the new thread. I'm sat waiting at the doctors to recheck my blood pressure and giant hippo trotters.
Just attempted Tesco on the way home and apparently both myself and my huge tummy are invisible to mothers and children, and old people (unless they want to touch me up) grrr.
6 weeks of work left though Smile

New thread already?!

My arm still itches like heck from the whooping cough vaccine!

I bought a swaddled and a "breathable" blanket today...REALLY want to buy clothes but there are so few non gender specific items out there I am really struggling!

I'm supposed to be making dinner...Instead I am lying in bed!

Sparkle, yes it is basically teal. We are having a girl so I think it works for both sexes, I didn't like any other colour really.

I got the cheaper base, think it was grey to be honest, don't care about colour of that so went for one that is cheapest.

Restless legs again tonight, really hate that! I am not waddling yet but I feel weak now and slightly nauseous in mornings and after dinner.

Mum2kiss had my jab on Friday and only less sore today! I am over cooking, I have no energy when I get home from work and DH gets home over an hr after me, think I might actually start buying microwave meals for the next few weeks.

porcito I feel your pain. Similar happened to me when expecting with ds - with john Lewis once. Didn't have the mattress I wanted so they were going to send me the cot frame but no mattress. They didn't know when the mattress would come back in stock, but there was one in Liverpool if I wanted to go up to that store and get it. (I live in Surrey). What was the use of a cot frame and no mattress?!

DH is home early today and downstairs going through everything with the builder. Not sure I can face him as will even run screaming at him with punching fists or bawl my eyes out. Thought I would have a lie down now ds has gone to bed, but oh no, mattress on our bed is soaked through.

0% beer just ain't going to do it tonight!

Bump I am also totally over cooking real food. I think it's a combination of heat and third trimester pregnancy. Lying here thinking about what we could possibly eat tonight right now... such a hassle sometimes!

I'm seeing the midwife tomorrow and need to remember to ask about the whooping cough vaccine. I plan on making an appointment with my GP afterwards to get it done, is that right? Do I need to say when I book it what it's for?

Last night I had terrible leg cramps that woke up me and were so painful. I might be leaving the 'enjoying it' stage of pregnancy, I have to say. On the other hand, I do love how active the baby is now...he is almost constantly moving around and kicking and shoving my stomach into odd shapes. I've heard it can get a bit painful and I'm dreading that. The other major reason I'm starting to look forward to the end is that I have high blood pressure all of a sudden. It started about a week ago at a routine midwife appointment, ended up with me in hospital for a little over 2 days being monitored and put on medication. It's really frustrating to suddenly be high-risk! I don't have pre-eclampsia (though still could develop it obviously) but have been told I might have to give birth early. Hopefully it won't come to that, or won't be too early, but keep reminding myself that my husband was born at 35 weeks without any difficulties, and my MIL was born at 28 weeks (55 years ago!) and was also absolutely fine in the end. But hopefully it won't come to that for me- I had a growth scan and the baby is the perfect size and I'm going to keep getting my BP monitored to make sure the medication keeps it in check. (I do really hate being on medication, though.)

Hi all, thanks for the new thread!

I'm also constantly hungry but anti cooking, eating much more easy food than I should be as a result! Especially yogurts and biscuits.

I'm 30 weeks on Thursday, still don't feel like my bump is big really so just another thing to fret about. I had my whooping cough vaccine last Monday and still have a little bruise, next to my blood test bruise my right arm islooking a bit sore! Xx

Hello there my lovelies, shiny new thread, how wonderful. :)
I'm having major aches this evening, might have been some braxton hicks? Felt like I needed to poo & my lower back and tummy had a band of ache all round. Better now I've had dinner & relaxed.
On Friday I'm having a bikini wax, acupuncture, back massage & hair colour done. Can't wait! So excited.

mum2kiss I apologise for these links in advance to your bank balance...but I am a real lover of all the unisex stuff! even still now with one ds and another on the way. I'm not keen on typical boy stuff...
So here are my top 3 unisex brands for you and anyone else. Not always cheap, but great quality, often good sales and excellent for hand me downs!

goats so true what you are saying. I had those thoughts before baby and even when baby was here. Was such a struggle to be me again but I did get there in the end. Best to be honest I think and say how you feel. I loved this blog in my early baby days...she is super honest so it's not for the faint hearted but I do think it's a great read. She's just stopped blogging unfortunately but if you go back to her early days it's a great humorous and sometimes sad read....

4 maltesers is incredibly restrained! I'm potty training DS and it is not going especially well so I've been rewarding myself with chocolate buttons every time he has an accident (and a success come to think of it), I'm not entirely sure that is how it is supposed to work.

Thank god it's been cooler today, I've felt much better and almost normal this evening, I'm really hoping for a good night's sleep.

Thanks for the new thread mrsb!
Awww CJ that sounds amaaaaazing, especially the back massage!
We had an oven-ready dinner tonight, pizza, wedges and onion rings, it's good for my tired laziness but I'd far prefer to eat something that I'd home cooked since I enjoy sharp flavours more than stodge right now, I could really have murdered something like a Thai curry!
mum2I agree, 4 maltesers is mahoosive restraint, they're mainly air anyway aren't they Grin

Wow those brands are so expensive... Think I'll be sticking to good old fashioned h&m!

Sorry to hear lots of you are having a rough old time. Renovations, pox and suchlike sound like less than good fun.

I'm also having trouble getting the energy to cook. All I really want is interesting salads, but until payday it's store cupboard specials and frozen stuff I made earlier in the month. All seems totally weather inappropriate!!!

Sazzle, damn you with your links lol, I love unisex clothes too! I even allowed myself to order a hat and scratch mittens from the bizzyandboo Etsy shop today as I seem to have a new fixation on stag/elk/fox/woodland prints..

Thanks for new thread - aptly named. Sazzle love the links to kids clothes sites, always looking for brightly coloured unisex items.

Another one adding to the renovations stories. We are renovating entire house very slowly (have been for two years) a few rooms done and others with plaster falling off ceilings and walls etc. It's fine though as will be worth it and we're used to it now. Have been applying for mortgage extension in order to get kitchen extended and have finally had it confirmed. Builder is ready to get started on... September 22nd - C-section likely to be booked for 23rd! My MIL basically had apoplexy when we told her. My dad's opinion was well it will mainly be external and it has to be done at some point. I'm also thinking that although not ideal to say the least it's better to get it done when baby is tiny and can be contained to one room than once it's on the move. Anyway, first world problems clearly. Anyone think we're mad or would you go for it?

Report
YellowWellies · 28/07/2014 22:00

Captain go for it. In the post birth maelstrom of new parenting with J someone could have removed the roof and I'd not have noticed! So long as you've somewhere quiet to go to escape the noise as you can turn feral if someone wakes a napping baby... or maybe that's just me.

I'm not looking at any of those links as I remember how little J wore some beloved and stupidly expensive outfits before outgrowing or ruining them. Dull and practical second time Mum hat on. I bet if its a girl I totally eat my words on this! Grin Grin Grin

fedupofrainydays · 28/07/2014 22:01

Hmmm captain given you are used to living in a state of refurb then maybe go with it? Might be a bit of a nightmare though if you want to nap and have someone banging around. But think as long as you can have a little kitchen set up elsewhere you will be ok and make all the key decisions before you have a new born. Colour kitchen, flooring, lighting, oven etc as doubt you will be up to making any decisions in a brain fog. Or maybe wait til baby is 3 months but do it before then are weaning. That way the worst of the sleep deprivation will hopefully be over!!
I am struggling doing it with a toddler I must say - more because we can't go in the garden and he's desperate to get involved with everything going on.
