Reporting for duty!

Can't believe I have to wait another 5 weeks till my next scan - boo!

Trying to pack for holiday. Hate not knowing what weather will be like! Could be scorching or rain for 10 days!

Oh Penguin, that's so lovely!! What a gorgeous clear picture! Two more sleeps until I get to see mini cakes again, feeling a little anxious though...

Well done Franks!

Ahh the first thread started with penguin's BFP and the second thread with a pic of her 20 week scan! Grin and such a lovely picture with baby's hand waving.. So clear! Glad he/she kept it's gender a secret for you. Sounds like you had a really nice experience.

Oh dear now we're on a new thread I've forgotten what I read on the old one!

Good luck for today regular I'm sure everything will be absolutely fine, everything crossed for you.

Good news on the sale maternity clothes president that's a bargain! I really need some more jeans I've been living in one pair of grey H&M maternity skinnies for a few weeks now, has anyone tried the topshop leigh maternity jeans? That's what I wear normally but don't know what the fit is like in maternity! I may just order some to see.
What I've also been living in is boohoo maxi dresses.. I usually just put with a skinny belt and chunky necklace. Only £10 each and come in loads of different colours and styles and will fit for a while yet.

Went to the midwife this morning as I was still worried as a&e doc was useless, she checked me over and listened to the baby's heartbeat, he was really kicking her off! I could feel it hard and hear it on the monitor, was quite funny. She said he sounds more than happy but has got me an appt with the consultant on Thursday as she could tell I was still anxious. No cervix ache today yet but it comes and goes, I think I'm fine but just so paranoid, and definitely shouldn't have googled incompetent cervix.. I need a big slap on the hand for that!

Ooh calling how exciting, where are you off to? Envy

Finally finished writing out 115 thank you cards for our wedding gifts.. Only 8 weeks late!!

Hi all, found the new thread! Lovely scan picture Penguin, you have alot of willpower to avoid finding out the gender!

Glad you got to hear baby today Strawbs.

I had midwife appointment this morning, also got to hear heartbeat which was nice. Although she had to track down my blood results as nobody had reviewed them and it appears I've been walking round with low hb for the last few weeks so she is going to speak to doctor about prescribing me some iron tablets. She's also had to chase up consultant appointment as I was apparently supposed to see one but I hadn't been referred! Ah well, I haven't been sick yet today and managed a walk to town and back (first time I've felt up to leaving the house in days) so looking on the positive side!

Hope everyone is doing well xx

Thanks franks for the new thread Smile

engels it sounds like you're going to need lots of layering for your hols.

strawbs big slap for googling. Good to hear you and baby are fine and with an extra reassurance appt booked.

president i agree, no need to spend huge amounts on mat clothes. 2 outfits costed me gbp34 and I have the feeling those 2 tops will be used again next summer.

cakes you're next for the scan Smile are you going to find out the flavour?

Covent - yes we intend to if the baby is willing to display it! I've started getting proper 'kapow' type kicks in the last few days, more and more each day. Some of them are rather low down though which feel a bit odd Wink but mostly it's nice and definitely reassuring! People at work think I'm mad because I'm saying 'hello' almost every time I get one!

Strawbs, great that you had a good appointment and some reassurance. I'm off to check out those maxi dresses now! Smile

Excellent scan pic Penguin!
Thankfully my scan also went really well. Measurements are all in normal range, the baby just didn't stop moving the whole time so the pictures are rubbish but I have my normal 20 week one 2 weeks tomorrow so I will hopefully get some then.
Bloods done, just have to wait for the results, but I feel so much more relieved having had the scan.

Glad the appts are all going well for everyone and I am another one really struggling with maternity stuff! Waiting for an online order and hoping that at least one thing fits...

Just spent an hour trying to entertain ds while we waited for a hairdesser and then had to fight him to ait still while he got his hair cut. I'm amazed his ears are still in one piece!

Heading to France, west coast just below Brittany. Have actually given up with packing until ds is in bed tonight and at nursery tomorrow.

Basgetti great news on hearing the heartbeat, it is very reassuring! And the lack of sickness today and walk in to town, you must feel better for it. Not so great on them not picking up your bloods properly, hopefully you'll feel even better when you get the iron tablets! Hope you get your consultant appt soon.

Thanks for the slap covent I need it!

Cakes eek how exciting! Let's hope you have a cooperative baby, what time is your scan? I love having the strong kicks and movement, it's so reassuring isn't it for is worriers! Let me know how you get on with the maxi dresses, if you're a shorty like me (5ft2) I'd get the 'sandy' maxi dress as the others I've had to have taken up and the material is nice and stretchy too.

Ahh that is great news regular how funny that he/she wouldn't stay still! Are you finding out or having a surprise? So nice that you have your next scan to look forward to in 2 weeks, you must feel relieved. Hope the maternity clothes are a success!

Have a lovely time, I love France, used to go on lots of family holidays there near Brittany. Hope you have more success with the packing tonight!

Thanks, Strawbs! I am a shorty (5ft 4 on a good day!) so I'll take that tip! They look lovely and would work for home or work I think - although I don't have to be smart for work so I'm living in maternity jeans, never want to go back to normal ones! The big kicks are great, but definitely take me by surprise now and then. I'm sure I'll get used to them but they stop me in my tracks sometimes, which causes DH to fly across the room to try and get a feel! No luck for him yet though.

Scan is at 10.30 on Wednesday, so not too long to hang around in the morning. I was the last appointment of the day for my 12 week scan and they were so behind! I think we were there for about 2 hours in total!

Really pleased your scan went well Regular. We had the same problem with a wriggly baby at the 12 week scan so hoping for some lovely pictures this time around.

Have a lovely holiday Calling. I have happy childhood memories of camping near Quimper. We're off to Provence in a few weeks with some friends, can't wait, although slightly concerned that I may find the heat tougher than I did in Greece.

So today I finally felt movement! What an odd sensation. It was a bit like when your stomach 'drops' in fear. Then a few more times. It felt quite low down, but the baby was feet down in my pelvis at our 15 week scan, so quite possibly it's doing that again. It's reassured me slightly as I was beginning to worry a bit about next weeks scan. Hoping the baby moves a bit more than it did at our 12 week one, it was so laid back I thought there was something wrong.

*Strawbs I'm really glad you had a more reassuring appointment with the midwife and were properly listened to. Hopefully having an appointment with the consultant will really set your mind at ease but stay away from Dr Google in the meantime!

Engels I'm sure it will be lovely to have a break however the weather turns out but still crossing my fingers for sunny skies. Jealous of all the french food you'll be eating!

Glad you got to hear the hb Basgetti and that you've been able to be out and about. Hope they sort the consultant appointment soon though. It's weird, I do want to know the gender but always knew we would wait so it didn't seem like that much of a temptation at the scan.

Ooh cakes not long now! How exciting. How cool you are getting some big kicks too, I'm sure the days that our partners will be able to feel the movements can't be too far off!

So glad your scan was reassuring regular and really pleased that you feel better having had the test. Do you know how long you'll have to wait for the result?

Hooray for movement for you president. It is reassuring to feel but I wouldn't worry too much about the amount though. Our little penguin seems to be super chilled, just some mild arm waving today, but it doesn't seem to be a causing any concern amongst the medical professionals I've seen so I'm not worrying either.

Ooo busy day on new thread!

Calling It's just over 3 weeks until my next scan so we can wait impatiently together. Although I am sure your holiday will make the wait a little easier. Enjoy and make sure you relax plenty.
Strawbs I'm so pleased that your midwife has booked you a consultants appointment. I'm sure everything will be fine but it is always nice to have someone reassure you from a medical point of view. Let us know how it goes thursday.
Basgetti Glad you are feeling a bit better, I wonder if the low iron has contributed to how sick you have been. Well done for walking to town and back (the school run kills me at the moment!)
Cakes Yay for Kapow kicks! Fingers crossed babycakes has legs wide open for the money shot. How exciting its only 2 days away.
Regular So pleased all was well at your scan.
President Congrats on feeling movement. Baby is clearly in perfect position to play football with your bladder!
Penguin I still can't get over how clear your scan pic is. Hoping mini-frank sits still long enough for a decent pic at next scan.

I am now pretty sure the odd sensations I've been feeling is infact mini-franks. It's been 9 years since my pregnancy with DD so i had kind of forgotten what those first movements were like.

How/what are peoples cravings? I am going mad for cheese and cream (not together mind!) I was making myself a cheese sandwich at 3:45am this morning!

Oh and yes definitely milk! I too never usual drink the stuff other than in tea.
It's odd as never had any cravings with DD.

Penguin that did make me giggle! I'm probably being a bit greedy too as eating way bigger portions than usual.

Hope everyone has had a good Tuesday. I am counting down the days until school hols. Roll on lazy mornings and pj days!

I think 9 years sounds fine as an age gap Franks. I may be biased though as my brother is 16 years older than me!

My cousin's two kids were 7 years apart though, and they have always had a great relationship. Far less competitive than siblings with the usual couple of years gap, the older one helped out loads, was old enough not to get jealous of or frustrated with the baby, and now they are 19 and 26 they are great mates.

I do wish I'd managed to get pregnant earlier, I'd love more than one, but the thought of trying to pop another out at 42 or 43 horrifies me!

Hi ladies!

Very happy to report that all is well with baby cakes Smile and it's a girl!! Contrary to what the vast majority of family and friends believed. I love that she's defying them all already!

I'm 8 years younger than my brother and 10 years younger than my sister and we have a fantastic relationship. They practically brought me up and have always inspired and advised me. Were really good mates and I've loved being an auntie to their kids. Plus now it's my turn I'm getting loads of freebies from them! I hope that reassures you! Smile

Yayyy, congrats cakes a little girl, awww... Where is the pic? Grin

Catching up on cravings, nothing stands out at the moment for me, just too much of everything. Attracted to pizza, ice cream and crisps, but that's no different than pre pregnancy, so I'm used to resisting them.

Just back from a swim. After I got dressed, I realised that I'd had forgotten, AGAIN, to moisturise. It's never been part of my daily routine and i can't manage to do it regularly Hmm.
