Marking my place. I'm still at the Early Pregnancy Unit waiting for a scan. Have been here for more than three hours so far.

Thanks for the new thread rockin

My boobs are enormous too. And the nipples are really sore?? I spotted some ever so slightly padded (which I think will be more comfy with the nip situation) but soft cotton, no seams and no underside bras at uniqlo so think I may invest in a couple!

Kicks- have they said how long it'll be?

No sickness yet but all day nausea. Nothing helps, just makes it worse.

good luck kicks

I really struggled with bras in my last pregnancy, mainly due to poor fitting at Debenhams!! They decided to add a cup size onto what I was for further room after the birth, but didn't adjust for when my bump went down, so during the pregnancy the cup was too big, then after the birth the chest size was too big! I was in so much pain. This time I'm going to have to sort it out, although I don't know where to go, I only want two bras I think, I don't want to have to keep buying a bra every week!!

No sore nips for me thanks DS and your terrible latch thank goodness. Had enough of that when breastfeeding!

I'm struggling keeping it a secret, the guy I ride for wants me to do lots of high intensity work with the horses, jumping and hunting, which I'm not supposed to do, but difficult to find an excuse without sounding like I'm scared! Lots of people keep asking when are we going to have another etc, it's hard to keep my story straight! Then there's the no drinking rule.

I'm 6 + 4 today. Had a straightforward pregnancy with DS and this looks to be going the same way. Although I remember having some spotting with DS which I thought was just my period starting (unplanned pregnancy), which I haven't had this time.

DS is currently asleep which is not like him, he was so tired he was asking to go to bed "mine bed mummy mine bed!" but I'm going to have to wake him up now or he'll not sleep tonight. Absolutely terrified of having two, managing a toddler and a newborn. DS birthday is 24/09 and my EDD is 11/09 so he'll be nearly 3 when this one arrives.

I keep forgetting I'm pregnant, it's a difficult stage now because I feel like I can't do anything concrete like rearrange furniture, start buying baby things etc because it's too early.

my boss knows and a good friend in work but no one else in work, thankfully my morning sickness has been very mild.
Two friends know (my closest) but none of DH's friends know as he isn't ready to tell yet.
we have decided not to tell any family as they wouldn't keep it to themselves.

Also if the worst was to happen my sister and MIL seem to feed on drama and negativity so would be all over me (trying to help, give sympathy etc) which is the last thing i would want at that time.

the MIL has thought i was pregnant since we got married, 4 months ago, keeps making little comments and my sister in front of all the family has said 'hurry up and get pregnant' so to be honest I'm in no rush to tell either of them.

I have also made the decision to not tell people my due date. i will just say September and if they push i will explain that many people go 2 weeks early or 2 weeks late so the due date is useless. i really don't want everyone on tender-hooks texting and ringing to see if i have popped. MIL is a worrier so if we didn't answer our phone she would assume i was in labour!

It turns out an 18 month old, work, college and pregnancy don't leave much time for MN. Grr.

Have just had my call from the mw, booking in apt pencilled in for 13th feb, will be roundabout 9 weeks. bit worried that my symptoms come and go, am peeing a lot but still no sign of any sickness (was sick till 40wks with other 3 pregnancies) still very early though, I think made worse by a +hpt on 7th jan, known 2 wks now but still only 5+2! lol

surromummy I'm the same i have had very few symptoms, felt a bit sick on saturday for a few hours and thought 'ok here we go' but nothing since, get little cramps now and then and my nipples are alittle sore.

I'm 5w4d, had my doctors app this morning and she said not to worry that its still very early for symptoms. ill have to wait a week for my bloods to come back but she is faxing my forms to the hospital today so hopefully ill get my scan date soon.

May I have some advice from some more experienced baby-makers than myself please?

I am (by my own clumsy estimate) about 6 weeks. I found out on Thursday, and I tried to get a GP appointment today but I was told I had to just wait until 8 weeks (but they didn't have an appointment available until I was 9 weeks) and go and see the midwife for an initial appointment (no scanning involved). Is this normal? Everyone else seems to be getting checked out earlier.

I have not had any miscarriages and I am young and healthy so I understand that I am very low risk for anything to go wrong, but still it seems a long time to have to wait, especially for those who find out earlier than me. It also seems a little negligent because what if I didn't know to take folic acid or avoid mercury? Confused

I was thinking of contacting the local EPU and seeing if they could get me in any earlier. Should I bother?

ahhh, righto.
I feel like I'm tempting fate being in this group, I'm only 4 weeks exactly so am just trying to sort out first appointments etc. But you all seem very knowledgeable and I think it's going to help me to have you all a couple of weeks ahead of me! Anyone else get that horrible scaredy feeling that it's going to be a CP? This is my 1st, I was lucky enough to get preg in the first couple of months trying so I can't quite believe it all yet!

Hi all, I've been lurking on the last two threads but haven't introduced myself yet! Got my BFP on 28 Dec, but had a MC at 9 weeks in July so have been too scared to post before now! I only POAS so I could chuck the damn thing out, we'd been TTC for 4 months and nothing was happening, so decided to just get rid of all the tests etc and take some time off, then lo and behold...

I had some bright red bleeding on Sat, was sent to A&E yesterday by out of hours, and then scanned at EPU this morning. Saw my little bean and its beautiful fluttery heartbeat! Am so thrilled as also had spotting at this stage in last pregnancy, and that turned out to be non-viable due
To very slow heartbeat, so had been refusing to let myself hope too much before now. Have been told all looks good this time round so fingers crossed :)

Not booked in with MW yet but have my scan date for 24 Feb.

Stats:
Me 36
DH 39
DC: 1 DD, 27 months old
EDD: 7 September
SE London

So nice to finally meet you all!
