Got my BFP a couple of days ago, not actually late yet so obviously a bit apprehensive. Due date would be 1/9 :) Anyone else out there testing early??

Hi, I got my BFP yesterday! Not totally sure of my due date yet though, but it will be early September sometime. This is my first pregnancy so I'm also feeling pretty apprehensive! Somehow, despite implantation bleeding and a positive pregnancy test it still doesn't quite feel real. Xmas Shock

Hooray, congrats to you!

This is my third and I still don't really believe it until an actual live person pops out of me Wink

Thanks, congrats to you too, wow number three! Smile

I think I might believe it more when I feel baby kicking (whenever that happens!?) I am hoping mine will just 'pop' out of me without much bother, hehe. Unfortunately I have watched too many One Born Every Minute's to know better Xmas Hmm I wish I could erase them from my memory actually haha. My mum is a midwife though which makes me feel a little bit better about it all. I wish I felt more happy than worried/scared but unfortunately not at the mo. Hope that's normal! Confused

Got my BFP on 20th too, also my first! So excited but also massively apprehensive. Think DH is refusing to believe until the 12 week scan!!! Very frustrating! Anyway due date calculators are giving me dates from 29th August-1st sep. Really hoping for a September bubba, don't want it being the youngest in the school year, so will keep my legs tightly shut nearer the time! But obviously health is far more important! Good luck girls... Grin

Hello EnglishGirlAbroad, congrats on your BFP! I know what you mean about wanting a September baby rather than August. I think I'd prefer that too. I'm a teacher and although it isn't always true, I think late summer babies quite often tend to be a little behind their autumn baby counterparts academically, in the early years anyway. Not that they're any less intelligent but I guess a year is quite a long time developmentally speaking! But yes you're right, health is way more important than date of birth Smile

Hello and congrats EnglishGirl! Whereabouts are you? :)

topmammy, my first birth was fine (very overdue as DD had secretly gone back but did hypnobirthing classes and got to hospital 8 cm dilated, no pain relief except a bit of gas and air, 8 hours start to finish) and my second was AMAZING. I went to Daisy Birthing classes, which I'd definitely recommend, and had the most fantastic chilled out home birth. I'm looking forward to the birth bit :) (and will be doing Daisy classes again this time) - it's the logistics of life with three afterwards that worry me!

I think I'd probably prefer a September baby too (and seems more likely seeing as my previous two were late) - I was an August baby and hated being young for my year. Already feel a bit sorry for DS whose birthday is in July.

AF was due today but it's nearly midnight and no sign :) so starting to believe it might be real!

Thanks Lana, congrats to you too.
I'm living in holland at the moment, so having to get my head round A very different health care and maternity system! The like everything natural. And although I'm not adverse to natural, I want the pain relief there in case I need it. Had a bit of melt down yesterday... As much as people moan about the nhs, when it's taken out of your hands you suddenly appreciate if a whole lot more!
So I will prob be venting a lot and asking questions a lot. Going to try to get things done here as the would be done at home...
Fx for healthy and happy pregnancies for us all... Oh and Merry Christmas! Grin

Hi everyone...tentatively checking in after having a bfp on Christmas Day!! Prefect present. If I'm correct with dates, I will be due on or around 7th December which could not be better timing as a teacher Grin I can't believe how lucky we are. Don't know if we conceived on cycle 1 or 2 as I only came off the pill end of October and between then and now I had 2 days spotting at beginning of December. I'm thinking cycle 2.

I'm sorry, I'm rambling I'm just so nervous!! Xx

Hi BexBoo, congrats to you! and what an amazing Christmas present indeed! Did you mean you're due 7th Sept rather than Dec? Smile I'm a teacher too and feel v. lucky about the timings also. Is this your first baby? I was really nervous too when I first found out but now I'm so excited!

I can't quite believe it still. I want to do a digi but I'm scared it won't show up yet. Have you done one? Great timing for us teachers hey!! Xx

Hehe No wonder you made that little typo Bex with wedding AND baby on the brain! How exciting for you Smile I got married just over two years ago (the time has flown by! Shock ) it was the best day of my life! Until baby arrives of course!

I feel a bit stupid for asking but by a digi do you mean like the clearblue tests that tell you how many weeks you are? Ive not done one of them, just the standard yes or no ones lol. I fell quickly too, first cycle so I found it really hard to believe too! It's magical though Smile

Report
BexBoo12 · 27/12/2013 15:45

Yes a digi are the ones that actually say pregnant or not pregnant rather than trying to interpret lines lol. I have got a conception indicator clear blue digi (the ones that say 1-2 weeks etc) but don't know when I will pluck up the courage for that Wink

Yes it's all happening very quickly for me!! Wedding and baby news all in a week. Crazy- I never do things by halves!!!

You're right, it's completely magical. I keep crying purely because I just can't believe how lucky I am x

Report
topmammy · 27/12/2013 16:28

Oh I see! Well actually then I have only done the test that has a cross if you are pregnant and just one line if you aren't. Ive done two of those tests just to be sure and both were positive even before AF was due. I think I will have to get one if the digi ones though too, just ' cos! lol.

Report
BexBoo12 · 27/12/2013 16:29

Definitely!!! Get one and do it ASAP!! When was AF due for you x

Report
topmammy · 27/12/2013 17:07

My cycle length can vary a bit so my educated guess is that AF was due around Christmas eve. I know that I ovulated during the week beginning 9th Dec as I used one of those OPKs to try and work out what my cycle was doing so Christmas eve is about 2 weeks from ovulation so that seems about right. Got my first slightly faint BFP on 20th Dec with not even FMU lol. Then a stronger positive a few days later. I think I'll do the digital one that tells how many weeks you are on Sunday before my doctors appt on Monday. Hopefully they are still as sensitive as the standard clear blue tests. I've read it's normal not to have many symptoms this early but apart from bigger and sore boobs I feel pretty much normal! We will have to compare early pregnancy symptoms lol.

Report
BexBoo12 · 27/12/2013 17:18

I don't have any symptoms either really, apart from feeling queasy. Not been sick, just feel sick most of the time haha. And I'm more tired that usual. I've had head aches but I suffer with head aches anyway so not sure if that is a symptom lol

Report
topmammy · 27/12/2013 17:29

I felt sick for a few days when I first found out but now that's gone, so it wad probably just apprehension/ excitement haha. I have had some light cramping too actually which feels a bit like period pains occasionally really low down but it disappears after a few seconds.

There is another September 2014 thread... just putting the idea out there of merging into one thread. I think my obsessive teacher organisation brain is kicking in there lol.

Report
BexBoo12 · 27/12/2013 17:46

Oh yes definitely let's merge. Do you have the link for the other one? I'm also having AF like cramps - I'm glad you've mentioned those as I was worrying about them a little big x
