Checking in - haven't caught up, as DH in hospital - appendicitis.
He's out of surgery now and okay, but have had a rough few hours catastrophising in my head (stupid surgeon said it was 'a half hour' op, so the fact he went up at 9pm and only just got back had me thinking the worst).

Hope everyone's okay - will catch up more in a couple of days when home more/not totally wiped etc. MN on phone is super-slow and eats battery, so prob won't check in much.

Glad he's out and ok.

Thanks for the new thread, tooth Flowers

Good luck for your scan today, nature.

Poor mrhumpty - had it perforated?

Dd has not fully grasped the change to GMT although only woke 10mins before the start of cbeebies today which is an improvement on yesterday.

Just checking in.

Humpty sounds like a manic few days, glad to hear DH is out of surgery and okay.

Thinking of nature today - good luck for your rescan.

I was kept awake last night by wind (outside Smile) and the little one doing the most movements ever. At one point it was like she was a spinning top - so fast!

Just getting ready for our spa day! Am determined to savour every moment of it while trying to ignore the stress of work that will arrive tomorrow.....Grin

humpty glad all is now ok but bad times for worrying.

nature good luck today. Got everything crossed for you.

I have just had a massively long sleep after my busy weekend but my back is in agony. Guess this is the start of all the 3rd tri issues for me.
Cant hear that much bad weather outside yet (yes i am still in bed and have not opened curtains yet)
Think the north west is supposed to get a bit later today but it shouldn't be too bad.
Going to see if i can go and view the midwife centre today and then its food shopping time, dhs MOT (i hope its cheap as we really cant afford a problem) and breastfeeding nct tonight.

Anyone not had baby jab them in the ribs yet?
Am 29+3 and baby seems to be sticking to the movement routines of the last few weeks, just feel it a bit more, but no rib jabs yet. Just regular kicks and some hard pressure when i am guessing it turns and is pushing against me.
Are we supposed to be sitting down for an hour each day to count movement? I am just planning on doing that if i think movement gets less. Its difficult with this ap to figure out how much less kicking ill feel than others.

frizz I've had nothing that high up yet (30 weeks today). It seems my one prefers to prod me in the bladder Confused. I wound myself up so much with the kick counting app that I had to delete it. She doesn't ever kick, just wriggles around, and she doesn't seem to do that as much as everyone else's baby does either. So long as I feel some movement two or three times a day I think I'll have to be happy with that. Stressful though.

I never had rib kicks with dd. I do have a long body though.

Morning all,

Well done for filling that last thread ladies.

humpty wishing mrhumpty a speedy recovery.
frizz I have been getting occasional jabs in the ribs for a few weeks now, especially if I slouch. Only just under the bottom rib on my right though. I have high AP too.

OK am gonna check what it's like outside and venture to work via motorways on,y I think. Hope everyone i Ok and has safe journeys.

I haven't had rib jabs but last week my ribs really hurt and my bra back size went up so I'm assuming he moved up a bit. Did have like a sharp pain in ribs at back which I assume was foot/elbow/ something hard for the day which has now gone.

There was a kick counter stall at babyshow and the lady said your supposed to count periods of movement so not necessarily kicks and also that you should just learn what's normal for you so there isn't a set number a day

Frizz1986 · 28/10/2013 09:45

Thanks. I am pretty happy that baby is still moving regularly so all is hopefully ok in there. Am kinda looking forward to worrying about baby once it's here. At least it will be a real baby and not just what I often imagine as a blob in my belly!

Hoping to have the nursery done and everything up by next week. Then we can see exactly what my sister has loaned us and figure out what we still need (a lot if my Amazon list is anything to go by) Then I need to clean up the buggy and car seat and figure out how they work.

Hope the weather is holding out for everyone so far.

nature lots of love and FX for your rescan today, will be thinking of you.
humpty hugs... Hope your DH is ok and you're not too stressed out, and that he recovers quickly and doesn't use it as an excuse to sit on his arse indefinitely.
Had another busy weekend, tiredness is definitely setting in, plus combined with not sleeping well. I am longing to be able to sleep on my tummy again!
Everyone that I work with is a wuss. The storm is not very bad where we are and yet loads of people are skiving off. And I have further to travel and am preggo. Plus we knew it was coming and so there was plenty of warning to leave extra time for travelling. I know in some places it's much worse but here it's fine.

Small blessings, I don't have to see cockwomble colleague until later in the week. I've also got lots of treats to eat today Smile

Weather near me is fine. Are others in the North West as well then?

Hope Monday is treating you all well so far.

I am near chorley natureand all is fine here. Mix of rain and sun so far today.

Just been to chorley midwife centre to look around and I think I am gonna go for it and try and have bubs there. It looks so lovely and they have lots of resus gear in case but only 1 in 5 get transferred to the hospital and there are lots of reasons for that ie baby pooping!

All the rooms are lovely with lots of space and pools. There are double beds so partners can stay over in the room with you as u can stay for 24hrs. They don't have visiting hours so my mum and dad could come up to see us straight away if they wanted. It just seems really nice. No hospital beds as they want to encourage you to be up and about so lots of beans bags etc and mood lighting.
Got a viewing at the hospital at start of Dec but I think I have already decided! !

Picking up a prescription for iron tablets today, hoping they'll help the tiredness and I'll be able to keep up with this thread!

Met my 2 week old nephew this weekend, he is gorgeous and I had lots of cuddles :)

Frizz that sounds lovely. I was hoping to use the midwife centre at my hospital but worried I will be made high risk now so won't be allowed. Fingers crossed that won't be the case. You're not too far from me. I used to work in and around Chorley. I'm over near Liverpool. We have even had some sun today!

That does sound lovely, Frizz. I'm still hoping to be allowed to use the MLU, but it all depends on what the next scan says.

What time's your appointment today, Nature?

Report
TarkaTheOtter · 28/10/2013 12:45

No MLU for me. But I am planning to pay for a side room so that baby and I can get some alone time together before we go home. I have to stay in for at least 24hrs after the birth and dh will be mostly with our toddler. I'll probably be on the induction ward for a bit before the baby is born so I think I'll have had enough of other mum's company.
I might ask if I can use the MLU if labour starts naturally before 38 weeks but I doubt it because I'll need drips for insulin and glucose anyway.

My friend recently argued her way into the MLU by threatening a home birth so that's always a negotiation option!
