October 2013 - Calling October babies: come out, come out wherever you are!(1001 Posts)
new thread yay!! checking in. sc@39+5
SC @ 38 weeks.
Baby and I have had words, and I'm expecting things to start in the middle of next week. Contractions started with DS1 at 38+5, so I've ordered the seam again please.
Well monitoring was fine and they are keeping me on the extra drug (Nifidepine) until Monday. Back for monitoring on Friday.
I was there for three hours so then my parents took me to Carluccios for lunch (list of what I ate on old thread...!)
Now I feel shite which I think is me getting used to the new drug. I want this to be over!!
Thinking of you MoN, I hope you enjoy your evening (take away!) and can rest xx
Checking in (serial lurker).
Off for a look round my midwife-led delivery unit in a bit. Nothing like leaving it til the last minute, maybe it will encourage baby along...
<takes a bow>
Why thank you Clapham It's not like I've got much else to do
My poor friend has MS so it's not at all unreasonable and I feel terrible now. But I wanted to go for a drink . At least I don't have to change out of my slouchy trousers.
SC. Craving a pregnancy massage. And a McDonalds.
I'm here twiddling my thumbs trying not to be too impatient at 36 + 5. May have a long wait yet. waiting to leach off of someone else's baby news and enjoyment.
Wow how sad is that confession?
Marking my place .
SC at 36+5 so really back of the bus, although as my csection/ induction is on the 18 I really don't have that long to wait , do I???
I am not a drinker ( only have a glass Xmas day) but I really fancy a pint of shandy. Even though I have been sick twice today.
mnippy mcdonalds....milkshake!!! Yes please
Checking in, thanks for new thread MrsH
MoN enjoy your night tonight, also backing the takeaway option and hope you manage to get some sleep, will be thinking of you tomorrow.
pseudo hope you feel better soon although your lunch sounds amazing! Hope the new drugs balance out your BP a bit x
Just had a look at the births sheet and looks like the boys have caught up, meaning my girl can now be born (again another irrational thought that has been concerning me) Come on babies, we need some actual October births!
Hope things are ticking along doobee and Rachel
Just added myself to stats page, hope thats OK. SC@ 39+2.
We def need more baby news
SC @ 38+2
Still have a tooth ache
Still fed up
Dh let me nap this afternoon and has now taken dd food shopping.
Its taking every single bit of will power I have not to nip down to holland and barratt and buy castor oil
Best of luck tommorow MoN will be thinking of you, dp and little Eliana xx
Thinking of you too doobeedee I wonder who will be the first birth announcement on this thread? Hopefully we should have a few by the time this one ends as we will be 1/4 of the way into October
I've been keeping up with reading the thread but just don't seem to be able to post properly with name checks the last few days
to all those over due, feeling crap, and everyone just generally needing flowers xx
Does anybody teeager children are " needy" with the eminent arrival of sibling???
Mine are! Both of them! Even though dd is engaged with her own place she is phoning and moaning every day!!! And ds is in a terrible mood???
Checking in at 38+2. Anything I'm also hoping for mid week next week
or now. Every time I get BH I hope it's going to turn into a crippling contraction so we can get the show underway! I should calm down, plenty of you are ahead of me not that I care about pushing in ATM.
Baby's blanket is nearly finished, just the borders left to do. Done more knitting in the last 2 days than I ever have- maybe a nesting/baby round the corner sign?
Maybe a TMI q but someone might know- where has my cervix gone?! I tried to find it (used to have a coil and check for strings so I know where it used to be!) but it's gone! I have long fingers, how far up can it be? And is it good or bad in terms of labour starting soon if it's that high?
Thinking of you and Eliana MoN
MoN and pseudo
SC @39 weeks today and getting increasing impatient that this baby is still not here!
Been waiting on the phone to gp for 25 minutes trying to book my 38 week appointment. I think they are closed now despite the "we know you are waiting" message every few seconds. Not sure how long I should wait. They only let you book appointments the week before, there are a very limited number available as pre bookable, you can't call before 11 and they close at lunch. Such a pain trying to arrange it but I don't want to miss out on an appointment that might be my last one (wishful thinking!). Grr. Sorry moan moan moan.
Two people said they were sure I would have the baby before the weekend at work today and one laughed and said you look so tired. Charming. I thought I was doing quite well today! Waddling a lot and walking slowly because one hip is much more sore than the other but I think I have a long time to go yet.
Good luck. Rachel and doobeedoo.
Last NCT class tonight, baby can come then once we have got our money's worth!
Checking in on the shiny new thread.
I'm lurking just not finding much time to post!
Those of you on fb will know that Isaac came home yesterday. So happy although absolutely exhausted!
Good luck tomorrow Mon will be thinking of you x
and good luck to all those SWIL! Hoping for a good few birth announcements on this thread!
Feminist out of interest I had a feel and mine also seems to have moved up out of reach.
orange - I HATE it when people tell me I look tired. Don't they realise it is code for saying I look awful! MIL is the worst offender.
Glad Isaac is home mon.
Can't believe some of you are making it to town. I can't deal with public transport anymore, and am fully embracing semi-hermitage (and John Lewis online...).
Whoops , I meant hayle, not mon!
Checking in at 38+1.
This weekend I've got a spa weekend booked with a pregnancy massage and pedicure booked. I'm dreading having to shave my legs!! The massage says it will focus on my tummy but I hope that's not right I want my back and shoulders and feet not tummy!! But what I'm looking forward to most is floating in the pool and feeling weightless. As long as the baby stays where it is!!
Just had an absolute emotional meltdown when DH got in from work...full on sobbing
SC at 39+4...
