Ooh, shiny new thread.

I just got back from my midwife appt and there was a woman in labour in the waiting room - drama! She said she'd been having contractions for 24 hours and was sent home from hospital.

In other news my one is making its way down. She said it's not fully engaged but his head is in my pelvis. Hence the twinges I've been having in the past few days. No actual numbers given though.

Also got booked in for a flu jab and she said not to worry about whooping cough if I've already been vaccinated for it at school.

Ooh wicked you live up to your name!

I also filled my basket with sinful goodies, but to be fair I'm entertaining some mad aussie friends for 'tea' this pm and my plans to bake were scuppered by a trip to the bank for the PTA and two trips to the local cafes

smitten I guess the WC jab renewal depends on which end of the age spectrum you're in. It's so long since I had that jab at school Blush that i needed a top up. Coincidentally there was an advert advising the jab on the radio when i was in the local health shop this morning, there's definitely an outbreak of WC at the mo.

How does everyone feel about the flu jab? I've had a text from GP asking if i want it but not sure if worthwhile...

hope all is ok pseudo

Just back from mw. All good. She looked at all the stuff they wrote down yesterday at the hosp, and commented that I have LOST 4 kg this pg Shock

Can't see how, but she weighed me and I definitely have!!

didn't seem too bothered though.

Baby moved much lower down - was 3/5 eng, but moves around a lot. Didn't make me an appt for 2 wks time as she said it will be here by then Grin

I reckon it's the curse, and I will go overdue now!

Well the consultant reviewed my notes (I didn't see her) and is happy with the growth even though it's tailed off slightly (sonographer thought could be due to steroids and labetalol).
The sonographer wrote 'query small vsd' and said she couldn't see the heart/all areas clearly. Therefore I have a fetal ECG at GOSH tomorrow at 1pm where hopefully I'll be told it's all a big overreaction.....

Pink- I was told to definitely have the flu jab as the midwife said she had two women last year who had flu while pregnant and it made them very I'll and they both ended up in intensive care. So it's better to have it just in case.

Sympathies to others with the cold and other ailments. I'm not usually a wimp when I have the cold but with all other aches and pains and not being able to take anything other than paracetomal, I'm feeling a bit sorry for myself and would really like to eat 4 blueberry muffins Grin. I would also hate to go into labour at the moment. Urgh. Zero energy. Wouldn't be good. Anyway, Thanks and Brew to you all.

pseudo I think if I refuse the ECV it would be an automatic CS, but I must admit it does worry me a little. It has a fairly low success rate from what I've read and it can cause distress to the baby as well as things like detachment of the placenta. I will speak to the OB though as I'm aware I'm getting loads of my info from the Internet, which I shouldn't really trust. Have felt a few big movements this week so maybe it's turned on it's own. Here's hoping. Will soon find out!

Report
PseudoBadger · 26/09/2013 13:36

Good luck I hope it's turned for you MrsO - I think I would decline an ECV for those reasons.

Flyer747 · 26/09/2013 13:40

I am most definitely finding these last two days hard...26 hours to go.

I had a letter about the Flu jab, inviting me to take it up on the 19th October [hmmm]. I called the surgery to explain why that would be no use to me, and they said they weren't getting any vaccines in until that date. I let them know that I wasn't exactly impressed, at 38 weeks (nearly) when it takes two weeks to pass on immunity too, that if they thought I needed it, then I should have it soon as. They called me back and asked me to call again tomorrow, as they may have an emergency delivery come in....

So, what's going on...
Hope you're ok, Umlauf and Caz and Pseudo and everyone else. I can't remember who said they had a cold, but I am on the edge of one and just hoping it beggars off before the weekend. However, I suspect as soon as I stop work, it'll take hold.

Is it home time, yet?
