(10 Posts)Hi all
I'm currently 9 weeks pregnant and I have had ME for over 7 years. I have a fairly good understanding of ME and pace myself well enough to lead a mostly normal lifestyle, although I only work part time.
However I have never been pregnant and I am slightly apprehensive about how my body will react to the many changes ahead, through pregnancy, labour and motherhood. I'd really love to chat to other people with ME to gain some support and understanding from people who truly know what living with a chronic illness is like.

Hi Lily, sorry I can't help but I randomly saw this and thought I'd suggest you post first in pregnancy and the link to this group as they seem to get more traffic on that board. Lots of luck
hi i am waiting for confirmation on a diagnose of ME later this month but have joined a lovely facebook group and a few people on their have or are expecting and i think the general idea is that your symptoms improve during pregnancy.

Hi,
Waves, just seen your thread. I have had ME for mmmteen years, its well managed and under control.
So far being pregnant and having ME is so similar I am doubting I'm pregnant as I seem to cope much better than all the healthy mums to be!
I'm 14+ 4 due in March. My nausea stared to subside at 9weeks and have not really suffered much else since. Great thing about pregnancy tired is you sleep and wake up refreshed, wonderful feeling.

Glad to see a couple of others. I've really struggled this last week or so, not only am I suffering from constant nausea, I've also had a stomach bug which I can't get rid of. So my energy levels are extremely low. Fingers crossed it goes soon and I'll pick up a little.
Hi,
Me too! I'm more constantly exhausted than ever, feel nauseous and am able to achieve nothing. This gets better, right?
Hi all...
I've had ME/CFS for about 10 years although I've only recently been diagnosed (2 months ago). I'm now also 5 weeks along! So far the prevailing sign of early pregnancy is the sudden need to sleep more, and well for someone who struggled with mornings anyway it now means I'm oversleeping every day. Fingers crossed this improves?!
Normally I'd manage my symptoms with medications - I suffer with awful myalgia and get pain in my legs and arms. I was taking strong pain relief before going to bed which I've now stopped. Does anyone else have any problems with medications they can no longer continue during pregnancy?
Clearly the insomnia tonight is preparing me well for the many years ahead.....!!

Hi, I found pregnancy rids me of my fibromyalgia and fatigue symptoms
BUT
I then come crashing down in the post natal period.
