Thanks lady

I'm a bit confused - Monday I went to the labour ward because of reduced movement, everything was fine but they suspected I had a UTI because of my white cell count, got the results and was completely clear. Thursday had my scheduled MW appointment and again they did the test and urine was fine but just I've been to the loo and straight after I'd been, so not during, I had a burning sensation that went on for a minute. So this probably means I do have one doesn't it? I know they can come on quickly but that's really quick surely if I've been tested twice in a week? I've drank a lot of water to be doubly sure all week that I was hydrated but looks like it might not have worked.

Hope everyone's okay - thanks for the tip on Argos sale gannet ill be checking that out tonight!

crying you story was so funny, I've been clumsy recently but that just tops everything bless you! Hope you've enjoyed your weekend away though despite that.

Maybe it's worth having it checked again...

When I phoned labour ward they thought I had a UTI but because I said it didn't hurt to pee she ruled it out... I get a burning every now and then and it's quite painful. I'm not sure it it's one of the joys of pregnancy?

In a lot of pain with my back today my tummy hurt..Getting feeling down and fed up now and still feel like December it forever away :/

Hello, thanks for the new thread Grin

Sorry to hear you're still feeling ropey Stom, did you get to see anyone in the end?

I gave them a call but they didn't need me to go in..
Just told me to rest that's what ive been doing! Lol

Dp just came home and said his mates wife has had a water birth and they won't let u have one unless u can get out of the pool quick if u need to so I'll doubt u will be able to have one...

Thats just made me feel even crappier - I said ill talk to the midwife but he thinks he knows it all.
I just want to cry :( sorry to be on such a downer...

Craving a curry from our local Chinese so dp has gone to get one lol

Just come back (disappointed) from shopping for maternity clothes. Where is the rule that states all pregnant women must wear stripy tee shirts?

Hej all. I keep forgetting to call the physio in the 10 minutes I have where I am not teaching and the phone lines are manned! But I have swapped my office chair for an exercise ball, and I have a support belt coming tomorrow, so I hope by e time I actually get an appointment I will not have gotten too much worse with the SPD.

I'm the same re. burning and peeing, sometimes it hurts and sometimes its ok. MW checked the other day and all clear... I think it is pregnancy joys :(
Crying your story made me chuckle, I'd have died of laughter/embarrassment lol
Surely any heavily PG woman in labour isn't going anywhere in a hurry Stom... I'd not give up on it till you speak to MW.
Prepared a nice beef stew in the slow cooker then realised we haven't got a knife block to cut the beef with... so it's a takeaway pizza for Sunday tea Blush

Thanks for the new thread lady

mrs I've just finished my anti biotics for my uti and it didnt burn when I peed at all, I had really bad lower back pain one night and a couple days before that I would be bursting for the loo and only a trickle would come out.

sooper my last 2 maternity tops were stripes cos there was nothing else there lol, I'm off to mothercare next week to look for something as I have a works conference so hopefully they'll have some non stripey ones in Hmm

stom I may be wrong but I don't think not being quick will stop you from getting a water birth, as abc said no pregnant women in active labour is going anywhere fast.
I only know of baby doing a poo while still inside stops you from being in the pool once active labour starts. Definately talk to your mw.

Hey loki now I'm nt the only crazy person sat on an exercise ball at work. I've been on one since about8 weeks as my coccyx does not like me being pregnant. Sacroiliac now also starting to protest but only three mre weeks and I'm out of there. Can't wait to see the back of the place.

On the weird UTI sensation front I was convinced for ages I had one but nothing showed up. Now I've realised it's when twiglet is sat on my bladder makes it really uncomfortable to pee.

thanks Alyssa yeah im deffo going to ask, yeah i really hope for a water birth obviously there are other factors but it will really help my back,

if i could sleep in a hot bath i so would right now lol.

with regards to UTI. i have a bad lower back anyway, but the last few days its been excruciating, and i sometimes burt for the loo and barely anything comes out, do you think it may be a UTI? im seeing Mw on thursday, so maybe I should ask her to check?

Hello - new thread again!

Just back from a BBQ at mums and ate far too much ice cream!

Sorry to hear about all the aches and pains. I don't have pain when weeing but I do have varicose veins in the most awful places (think I mentioned it before) which makes going to the loo (no1 or no2's) and achey painful affair Sad not much I can do but put up with it tho...

A friend of mine had a little girl yesterday (I was/am bursting with brooding at the news) and labour was only 1 1/2 hrs- not bad! She was given an emergency birth kit from the mw in case she ended up having a quick birth @ home- that's the first I've heard of something like that. Might ask my crap midwife if I should have one considering I didn't make it to hospital last time. She hasn't mentioned it yet.

MrsShrubs · 01/09/2013 20:19

Thanks ladies, I'll see how I am the next few times I got the loo and see if it happens again or if it was a one off. The joys of pregnancy indeed Smile

stom my friend was so tired she struggled to get her son out of the water pool after she'd given birth, plus I can't even get up off the sofa quickly and there's still 3months to go so you may be okay. Plus that's what our DPs are for, to pull us out right?!

sooper my mum and me had the exact same conversation, its crazy!!

I've found for generic stretchy jersey tunic tops and simple wrap dresses - typing in purpless' into amazon.co.uk?tag=mumsnet&ascsubtag=mnforum-21 here all priced about £8-15

They are smart enough for work but still comfy and breastfeeding-friendly for later on. I bought empire-line dresses in black, red and chocolate and tops in black and purple.

Got midwife tomorrow and 'things to ask' post-it is now three post-its long! Actually quite nervous as it's first day back at work after summer holidays then followed by MW Sad

actually thinknig about it it is a bit painful/sore to wee with varicose veins so maybe some of you have a few in your you know whats too! Don't worry they go away after the birth!

Stom try moving around or making a loud noise to wake baby up, or eating/drinking something. You may just be focussing on the pain and not be aware of baby's small movements...?
