Cervical stitch after LLETZ?

Hi,

I'm new to all this and I was after some advice. In 2008 I had treatment for CIN3 including cyrotherapy and LLETZ. I am only 5 weeks pregnant and I've spoke to my midwife and she said that I will most likely need a cervical stitch, has anyone been through this? and do you definitely need to have it done? I'm just worried about how things will be after as I have a 7 year old to look after too, I am absolutely petrified and have no one to talk to about this, any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Sarah

I had LLETZ for CIN3 last year. I'm 8 weeks & midwife said they'd probably scan my cervix to see if the treatment had shortened it. They will then decide what to do, if anything.

thanks for replying!

I am so worried about all of this, we've tried for so long, do you know when they are going to scan you? when is it normally done?

So far I've been booked in by the midwife & she has referred me for consultant led care. The consultant will decide if they scan / anything else.
She did say that once the consultant had seen me I should be able to go back to midwife led care.
That's all I know at the moment, it's worrying though isn't it?

Hi guys,

I had the stitch at 15 weeks after a scan at about 14 weeks, I think. I found it so hard to get info about it all but so far so good and I'm now 30 weeks with no problems so far (touch wood).

There are a few of us on here who are in a similar situation, I started a thread on this board called 'the short cervix club' (I think!) Where you can read our stories, ask questions and share your experiences so feel free to join us if you would like! It's been really useful to speak to other people going through similar.

Best of luck to you both

Piz
