Pasting:
Hey can I join? Just did a pregnacy test last night. I am about 4 weeks.
Not sure exactly when my due date is as I haven't had a period yet. Just came straight off the pill, got a withdrawl bleed and 7 weeks later I appear to be pregnant.
I also got married in June and this has all happened a bit quicker than I expected. So lucky but know it is early days so trying to stay calm.
More info.
I am 30 years old and also have v sore boobs. No other symptoms except a bit of spotting which was what prompted me to try anther test a week after the last negative test.
I should also mention that I am a sonographer so have been broody for a while!

Thanks Novia. Congrats on getting married too. I am so excited but totally paranoid. In the last two weeks I have drank loads of wine to point of being sick, eaten smelly cheese and done a power plate session! eek! Most of my friends have had major issues getting pregnant and I was expecting things to be the same. Call me pessimistic but it all seem too good to be true right now.

ps I really don't understand any of the acronyms people use on the site! Confused

I know what you mean - I drank so much this month! And had a craving for soft blue cheese last week and ate 2/3 of a pack! Blush

I'm not going to let it worry me though - what's done is done! I'm being good now.

My main fear (after losing baby) is getting too fat and then never being able to lose it - I'm going to have to be really careful not to eat rubbish!

I haven't picked up all the abbreviations yet, but there is a link somewhere. Let me have a look...!

fab will clue myself up!

I am being good but not giving up caffiene, just cutting down. Can't give up my cuppa at work. Everyone will know immediately :-)

When are you telling people? especially your parents. I don't think I cant wait till I get to 12 weeks to tell them. Told my best friend cos she told me as soon as she found out. My collegue guessed this morning. Think she is psychic and I couldnt lie. She just asked me if I got period yet and that was it!

I wouldn't worry to much about putting on weight just yet. I am just going to try and stick to the same eating habits, minus the red wine!

There is no chance I'm giving up my morning PGTips! Grin My mum and sister both went off tea during pregnancy though, so maybe I will too!

I've told my family and best friends already, but keeping it quiet everywhere else 'til 12 weeks. The way I see it, if something terrible happens I'll need their support and better they already know the situations.

I'm so social with my mates that I'll definitely be busted for not drinking, especially as hubby is in the local rugby team so we are out with them every Saturday - will have to come up with some good excuses!!!

Just want to get through the next few weeks safely...

I am telling people I am off booze as part of a diet. To be fair I consume more calories from drink than I do from anything else I think.

Try decaf tea & coffee, it makes it less obvious. Or switch to jasmine tea, which is really refreshing. I am drinking it by the bucket (teapot) load.

I'm 7 weeks but there is bleeding so not sure if things are going well. It is all a bit overwhelming really. I would quite like to either be excited or sad, right now I can't really be one or the other. I'm pretty pragmatic, even with the raging hormones and my partner (even more pragmatic) is being fab, which is great. But apart from here and the Dr we aren't going to tell anyone until we're at 12 weeks. Probably for the best really.

By the way - anyone have any cured for sore boobs? I am finding just walking up and down stairs painful right now.

Bodice · 31/07/2012 21:42

I am wearing my sports bra!

Also a bit of bleeding is perfectly normal. Try not to let it worry you. It may just be a little blood coming away from an implantation bleed/bruise.

TheTramp - not got sore boobs (yet!) but sure someone will be around with some advice! I think you're okay to take paracetamol too...

As I said before, hoping that everything is okay. X

Btw - the diet excuse for not drinking is a good one. Was also thinking of claiming a honeymoon bug which requires antibiotics but can't think of one that doesn't require a back-story!!!

I am just gonna be "driving" Diet will not wash with my friends. Going for a meal with a couple of girl mates on fri and dreading the conversation as my friend has been trying for three years and thinking of trying IVF.

Thanks Novia - so do I. Guess we will know at end of the week.

Diet excuse works really well. Although it does mean a little more thought with lunches. (I can't drive)

I say this whilst presently tucking into a bowl of butterscotch angel delight. Yes I do feel weak willed and slightly ashamed, but it really is delicious.

Hi everyone
5 and a half weeks today. All new to me and amazed how fast these hormones take effect. Boobs are SO sore!! In fact they were sore for a week before I did the pregnancy test (I nearly went to the doctor I was so worried about them!). Off tea completely and I love tea.

Don't really want to tell anyone just yet as I am cautious, though really hard to not tell my parents as we are so excited. not sure my mum woudl keep it a secret though! Sister knows (but she was the only one I told we were TTC) and PIL as FIL has lukemia and we though he should know to give him some positive news.

Seriously considering not going out at all over the next few weeks to avoid awkward questions ;-) Not sure what to do when the badminton season starts in a few weeks - feign injury I think!

Hi everyone i'll be 9 weeks tomorrow! I'm trying not to get too excited yet because I know it's still early days. We haven't told anyone yet my husbands parents were away on holiday when we found out (3 weeks ago) so decided to wait till they get back which is this week I'm so nervous to tell people my husbands sister has been trying for ages with ivf and just had 5 failed rounds!
i sympathise about the sore boobs a good bra is really important i just got a new one really helped, but i feel sick the whole time just totally gone off all proper food apart from cheese!!
I'm going back to work in a few days after a months summer holiday (i work in a school) i really hope i can hide how i'm feeling for a few more weeks and that no one notices i put on weight! Wink
