Kveta I am really sorry to hear about your friends baby. I hope everything works out well for them.

Thanks for the new thread.

I have been doing housework this morning and moving all the ruddy toys upstairs so I am not doing it during labour Grin I might have over done it though as now I have strong BHs so sitting down now.

Marking place, love the new thread title!

Kveta Thoughts with your friend, hopefully as she is in the states she is somewhere with top-notch facilities and they will do all they can for her premie DS.

Xx

Kveta I was telling my DH about your friend and he was sympathising with your DH.... hope everything works out well for them.

Great thread title :) Here be me marking my place!

My feel also appear to have been replaced by something more akin to balloons... wondering if I will float off, foot first, into the sky....?

Checking in... star BH vary for different people. Most in my NCT class did not experience any yet and we are all also June people, I have mine since around 22 weeks and they can be rather frightening by their intensity. The consultant is saying having them as well as not having them is normal and different from person to person and pregnancy to pregnancy...

I am 36+2 today, seems still a long way away but the arrival of the babies (and how cute are those!! Grin) is making it just so so real. Cannot wait to meet my own lo, but just not yet hopefully. Hang on in there for three more weeks please!

Kveta - thanks for setting up the new thread. Hope things improve for your friend.

Marking my place on this final (hopefully!) thread!

Can I just say, on a slightly whiny note, that of all the 'problems' I envisaged in pregnancy, sore hands was not even on the list. Carpal Tunnel sucks. Have given up with splints and will just ice hands and wrists now and again. Appreciate this is a totally minor thing compared to what some are dealing with though, so whinge over.

Have scan & consultant appt tomorrow, which I'm dreading (as always) but will at least know if baby is breech or not. Spoke to my mum earlier who said that when she was in labour with me, I turned breech during labour and the doc had to turn me back again!

Please baby, if we get you the right way up before that point, don't do that to me! Grin

Report
MammaInTheMaking · 27/05/2012 16:02

seriously I've taken to holding a cube of ice (those plastic cubes with water that go in freezer) in each hand to get some relief from the swelling and carpel tunnel. I get 2 new cubes each time I make a loo trip in the night. Is nasty but works a bit. Don't know what to do about my feet though...

Just signing in on the new thread Smile

kveta thanks for setting it up. Sorry to hear abou your friend, how sad, hope everything works out for them..

Spent all day swapping the furniture from our room to the boys room and vica versa. I am knackered, my sciatica is totally playing up now so I'm limping about like an old lady. I haven't even lifted much, dh did the lifting, I've just been hoovering and moving lighter things about.

Thanks for the new thread Kveta. Very sorry to hear about your friend, fingers crossed for them that everything works out.

So pleased to hear I have been joined by two more team members, woohoo! Grin C'mon the rest of you Wink - no seriously, hoping for lovely calm deliveries at the appropriate time for everyone still waiting! I am rooting for you all.

SSC sorry about the carpal tunnel, that is most inconvenient Sad Hope it will clear up fully after the birth.

gwennie hope you are putting those feet up!

By the way, if anyone is interested, I just ordered some nursing bras from www.nursingbra-shop.co.uk/ - prices are a bit less than figleaves / the shops, and there is a 45 day returns window (which is handy).

Went out for Sunday lunch with two of DH's colleagues today, and tried out a local pub which has recently had a fancy makeover. It was really nice - really good food (at a price though!) - but best of all, I have learned that it is a member of the "Mumsnet Family Friendly Programme" Grin, which meant it was overrun with children (in a good way? Confused) and there are lots of parent and baby activities held there. Yay! Smile

And best of all - DH went back to work yesterday, since his two weeks of Paternity Leave are up, to learn that the partners have decided to give him an extra week and a half of compassionate leave so he can support me at home! Grin How ridiculously nice is that?! So now he doesn't have to be back until after the bank holiday weekend. I did however point out that if he is going to be at home for longer, he should be waiting on me hand and foot Grin. I was not pleased when I had to ask several times over the course of 2 hours yesterday to get some lunch Hmm

BabyTea is now 1 month old (OMG Shock). Back to the hospital on Tuesday for his eye test - hoping to catch up with some familiar faces while we are there Smile

Right, you babies, you be nice to your mothers - cephalic presentations please, enough kicking for reassurance but not so much it hurts, and arrivals at an appropriate time!

T&H xxx

Kveta - so sad for your friend, hope their baby pulls through ok.

Tea - can't believe its a whole month since you had Baby Tea already - time flies! Lucky you and DH too getting a bit of extra time - makes a huge difference when you work for a company that does the right thing!

Warlin - hope birth went okay and Congratulations!!!

I think I might pop, feel absurdly large now and suspect I look it as every time I tell people I've got about 4 weeks to go they look pretty surprised. Naturally I'm worrying whether I've got a monster size baby growing after DS being 9lb4oz too... sure it will be fine, just would like to get it over and done with (as I'm sure everyone else here does too!)

Fab thread name kveta, am very sorry to hear about your friend.

Said it on FB but just for official purposes huge congratulations to warlin and dh. That is one cute bubba. Hope fan is doing well too. Can't believe baby tea is a month old! Seriously that time has gone ridiculously fast!

Well, LO seems to have either changed positions to a more transverse one or I am carrying a baby octopus as I'm feeling limbs all over the place! Got my 36 wk mw appointment tomorrow so will get position checked then. Got to take DD with me though as CM is doing her best to spectacularly let me down at the moment, probably because she knows that once our contracted is terminated then we'll not be returning to her, cos she's pants.

dairy cannot believe you were so energetic in weather like this! I am good for absolutely nothing right now. However, due to DH having 'man flu' it means he's good for nothing either so I haven't actually managed to be as thoroughly lazy as I'd like to!

Have been at my great-niece's christening today, which makes me sound really old! Was lovely day but far too hot for posh togs and patronising comments about 'not long now'. You can't hit people in church though, I checked.

Morning all

Hope everyone's well today.

Just thought I'd pop on to amuse you all with the fact that I was awoken by a rather disturbing dream this morning. Dreamt that a very large, purple, praying mantis was clinging to the underside of my right foot and looking up at me. It let go eventually. So much for a lie in on my first day of holiday / maternity leave.

Very strange. Grin

Will pop back after scan and consultant appt to report MiniCheddar position!
