i dont think you're supposed to cheshire after your waters have broke cos of risk of infection- but i could be wrong.

happy i think the time limit is 24 hrs before they will intervene cos of infection. hopefully something will happen one way or the other soon. x

bb3 im not bothered about the sex as like you say i have both sexes already, but it would be nice to have a boy to even it out. dp wants another boy but again we have one- so no massive longing.

ive had a really uncomfortable day. my back is throbbing and baby is causing all sorts of aches and pains. this week cant end fast enough! Smile

I don't think you can do the deed either - but not sure!

Sassy this time in five days you will definitely one way or another have your baby so not too much more pain to get through (hopefully!).

Have updated baby list - hope I haven't missed anyone off.

Just back from dau as reduced movements. Had to go on monitor and showing regular fairly strong ctx, also baby heart rate was high. Had to wait till heart rate settled. Did quick internal but not dilated so allowed home. Hoping won't be too much longer

Not much news from me I'm afraid! Feeling really down at lack of labour contractions have now stopped completely.
Good luck to ladies starting off, hopefully ull go quicker than me.

Anyway just marking place on new thread.

thanks for updating the stats thread. I had everything all ready to go and then DS woke and then the evening carried away as it does.

I know people want to get things moving by being active but bear in mind starting labour already exhausted is horrible

I'm 39 + 4 due Wednesday with second dc, no signs yet which I am disappointed in because dd1 was a few days early :( Just lots of pressure and a few pangs down there.

Report
Allboxedin · 16/10/2011 19:42

I agree so much with penguin. Last time I hadnt slept for 2 nights because of bad BH and I also didn't eat properly beforehand either. I didn't have the energy to push after 14 hours of active labour and they had to use ventouse - so eat and get some rest.

Definitely no sex! In hospital being monitored and turns out I am contracting but can't feel them strongly. Waiting to find out if they'll let me go home or if I'm in for the night now. Dh just really wants a curry!

Just wanted to pop by and say 'hello' as haven't had a chance to post in ages...have been reading posts when i get a minute but our computer hasn't been working properly for a while now so having to view on my phone which is a real pain...and between working and looking after DS I just never seem to have a spare moment!

Glad to hear of all the arrivals....congratulations to you all!!! Grin Been enjoying hearing the birth stories!

Am 38 + 2 now so am really hoping that I'll be joining you all soon...DS was nearly 12 days late though so I'm not holding my breath!! Have been having some strong BH but they never seem to amount to anything Sad Baby is also back to back at the moment so am keeping my fingers tightly crossed that it will do an about turn just in time!

Will try my best to keep up to date and keep posting...should b a bit easier now that on maternity leave!! X

Just marking my place on the last bus - 39+3 - Feeling like I may go overdue now, my DD was 3 days overdue, so if that's the case again it'll be another week. Was so fed up waiting last night, but am really trying to relax and enjoy everything today and feel much better about it all.

Good luck to all those imminent births!! :)

Edward sorry things have stopped moving. It won't be long now I'm sure. Hope you can have a good sleep tonight.

Good luck happy I was in early labour before being able to feel it, when labour 'proper' started it was only for 7 hours so hoping yours is quite short too.

Edward hoping your labour starts up again soon...

Good luck to you Awen...

We've realised the newborn clothes are still in the loft - we've got soooo much 0-3 stuff though Hmm No bags packed as yet, but we have had a lovely day Grin Had a long, lazy lunch at my sister's, pretended I wasn't pregnant and had a couple of glasses of wine, it was fab. (Pretended to myself that is. I think it's fairly obvious that I am extremely pregnant indeed.)

39+1 so less than a week until due, yay!!!

HandDivedScallopsrgreat Thanks for support, I am 41 week today and bored like hell sometimes.

I am trying to avoid sweep tomorrow with midwife and induction so I am going to acupuncture hoping that it helps me to relax at least.

LittlePebble Congratulations!! Looking forward your birth story :)

Congratulations Pebble - love the name Elijah too!!
You sounds so happy - enjoy every minute of your new baby!! :)

There can't be that many of us left now.....I'm 39+4 - but I don't want baby to arrive today, it's the last day that DH is working at his usual office, 1.5 hours away, and then half an hour drive up to the hospital - and as my DD was born in 8 hours I think this one could be very fast!

Good luck to everyone who does want their babies to arrive today though!!

39+6 here...Feels as if baby is comfortable in there, and that I'm going to be pregnant forever!
Bouncing on ball manically.......bored, frustrated, uncomfortable :(

Congratulations pebble!

Sassy I haven't weighed myself for about 2 weeks...too scared... Shock
Tho I'd be pretty pissed off if DH commented on the size of my ass! Angry

Congratulations pebble and gorgeous name!

Went to hospital last night, was monitored for ages and saw I was contracting. All great. But then a junior doctor told me i needed to stay in, start iv antibiotics and induction because it was over 24 hours since my waters broke. But as I hadn't had any, um, leaking all day they wanted to scan me to double check that my waters really HAD broken. All fine, but was suddenly very real and dh went off home to get bags etc.

I felt so frustrated because I wanted to wait overnight but obviously wanted to do whatever was being advised to keep the baby safe. So went ahead and had the canula put in (a big deal fir ne cos I hate needles).

Very soon after this, a more senior doctor turned up and scanned me, did 2 internals and concluded that it was very unlikely that my waters had broken!

So happy to be able to go home last night and it means that I can probably go to the birth centre when labour does start properly but was very annoyed that I'd allowed the other doctor to put the canula in before the scan. The midwife and senior doctor were both lovely and apologised profusely. Oh well, at least I've faced one of my big fears!

And my contractions are definitely stronger now so maybe in the next day or two I'll actually get around to popping a baby out! Was 1-2 cm dilated last night which made me feel v proud (naive first timer Smile)

Poor dh has had to explain to work that he isn't starting paternity leave today. Or "holiday" as he keeps calling it - hmm...

Hope everyone is ok and we'll have lots more babies by the end of the week!

Jane I feel your pain I've also been bouncing on the ball like it's going out of fashion, I do feel like it does more if I open my legs wide and sort of rock rather than bounce though. Also nipple stimulation is really working for me, it brings on a contraction within minutes but the contractions do stop as soon as I do Sad

My EDD is today and I'm beyond fed up!
Think I'm gonna make a start on Xmas hampers or something to take my mind off it!

Theres a new mothercare opened near me I'm tempted to hang around there today I've heard if waters break in the store u get £250 vouchers?! Not sure if that's true though Grin
