Hello good idea from tomcat

What are all your xmas tips and recipes or stuff you're doing to get you thru the next fewdays/weeks to EDD's

I going to try and make a stocking to hang in the nursery for when my little lewis comes home and for the first time bake a christmas cake.

Hi Ladies,

Just popping on again when I've got 5 mins, I see you are all hanging in there for the start of December.

SH - Keep an eye on that leakage as thats how mine started, I got up one morning and had a slight trickle down my legs, nothing else all day. Then the next morning the same thing and it continued (very very slowly) all day, went to hospital and they said no waters deffo not gone probably an infection!!! Next morning DH and I decided to catch some as we weren't convinced went off with sample pot full and they said yep deffo your waters but don't get too excited as you know I didn't go into labour for another week and a half (however if yours did break this close to the end they would just induce you, they just left me hanging on as I was only 33+2 when it happened, George was born at 34+5)
I think you'll pop in the next week..........I feel a post-natal thread coming on

I met my HV yesterday and she is lovely I was really worried as I have heard some horror stories about them but she couldn't be nicer she was here for an hour and a half and chatted away to mewithout a hint of patronising. She also weighed George and the little fatty is now 6lb 11oz that's 7 and a half oz in 1 week I'm sooooooo happy and the HV's last words to me as she left were keep on doing whatever your doing because you are obviously working wonders. I'M SOOOOOOO PROUD.

Also DH and I had sex this morning [smug and sexy emoticon], we both got really horny over the weekend but I couldn't go through with it as I was really really scared but this morning it was great it was probably down to being totally spaced out from lack of sleep but it damn well worked I have also managed to get back into a denim skirt that I haven't worn for months so YAY for me.

I just realised that George is going to be 6 weeks old at Xmas instead of 1 week (if he came on time) that ladies just feels really really odd.

NOW LET THE POPPING COMMENCE [GRIN] [GRIN]

Oh, i havn't kept my opening very PC as in todays climate of winter lights instead of fairy lights. I hope my christian traditions havn't offended anyone (not that I'm a religous nut) and of course respect anyone who celebrates this time of year different or not at all.

So....go on share you ideas about how you've kept occupied so near to EDD.

QUESTION: nursing bras and tops any recommendations cheap is good as long as functional and how many to buy? Cheers

Hi Big buy 2-3 good nursing bras but don't buy them untill after you have popped as your boobs grow a lot more anf if you have any probs breast feeding you don't want to have wasted money. I would wait about a week and a half to two weeks after the birth till you buy, till then just lift your bra up for him/her it will be fine.

Oh thats so sweet flutter - wish my little man was here - he's currently cuddling the inside of my ribs!

I just had this silly metal pic of all the dec mummies sitting at their PC's with xmas pudding bodies and human heads - thats strange i know but I'll blame on rib pain = v little sleep over past three days.

Oh where is mothercare delivery I'll end up rambling on here all bloody nite!

lol TC I cant keep up even though I read most days.
Being induced due to spd, depression and went 15 days over with Adam so dont want to do that again. Basically begged consultant who agreed to me being induced day before due date.

Kind of excited - kind of nervous. We have been told that the baby is a boy, we already have a dd aged nearly 5 so one of each would be great.

Wow Mouseman that is this week how lovely, one of each!
Well another day that didn't quite end up being as relaxing as I had hoped but crossed a few more jobs off the list....
Had my hair cut and coloured this morning so that was actually quite relaxing, being forced to sit and do nothing but chat and drink tea for 2 hrs happy with the outcome too, which is always a bonus!
And dh and I went shopping this afternoon and bought the things I was going to get tomorrow in the High St, so I had a bag carrier with me at least & dh has a job Short term contract at this stage but it may end up being longer term, fingers crossed. He's happy with the rate and company & starts on Friday.
Consequently, as tomorrow is his last day at home during the week, I've drawn up a list of his jobs
Hope everyone is feeling ok and not too hormonal
& fb, sex wow, my dh would think I'd been kidnapped and an imposter was in his house if that happened so soon after the birth

Wow I thought i was the only one due at the beginning of the month - good luck for Friday mouseman!!!

Scully - it's great to hear everything is finally going to plan for you. I believe a new hairdo can do wonders for a woman!

DQ - exam is on the 7th so I'm really hoping I make it to the sitting. On that note - I've got to go into college tomorrow so please don't panic if I'm not on tomorrow - I doubt very much I'll be in labour!

Dh took me for a chinese tonight - it's probably the last time we'll manage to eat out for a long time so it was nice just to have a little treat.

Flutter - it's lovely to hear from you. Brilliant news that george is doing so well. perhaps you'd do the honour of starting our post natal thread tomorrow as it's official December! Hopefully it won't be too long before we all start joining you!

It does do wonders sh, I keep walking past the mirror in the lounge having a look My hair doesn't get blowdried very often so a novelty for me, especially with someone else doing it
