Questions for you December girls. I'm due 23rd December with my first so I'm 18 weeks tomorrow. I'm wondering if people have started to feel any kicks/movements yet. I haven't and don't know when I should start worrying. Help please xxxx

I'm due 24th December and the midwife told me on Tuesday that it was a bit early to feel early - more normal to feel movements after week 20. I think it's going to freak me out when I feel something moving about inside me!

Yay new people on the thread - welcome! and congrats! I am due on Christmas day, will be 18 weeks at the weekend and have felt not a tremor so far - think first time round it's normal not to feel anything until well after 20 weeks.

In all honesty not sure if I've felt anything or not... sometimes if I'm laying in bed 'spooning' with DP (me as the big spoon so belly pressed to his back) I'm convinced I can feel tiny flutters. Dunno if it's just an overactive imagination tho!!!

I'm 17 weeks on Saturday so you're only a week ahead of me Grin

Have been wondering when midwife will want to discuss birthing options and breastfeeding with me (impatient bugger that i am!). As yet she hasn't mentioned either and I want to get on with thinking about my birthing plan!!!

I'm due on 30th December...I swear I've been feeling some little bubbles, sort of like fizzing, in my tummy which have been quite ticklish...could be baby or it could be constipation, or could be wind, or could be back pain, or could be hip pain, or could be heartburn.....Blush

Has anyone else started to develop a whole list of pregancy related aliments already?

PS I can I just add, as I read a very frightening post a couple of months ago about it, it can actually be pretty fab being a Christmas baby (I should know, I am one myself), and I have never ever missed out on anything birthday or christmas wise. Plus you get tinsel and tinkly lights...you don't get that in May! Your child will get out of it what you make of it, I always had a birthday (with a party too) and Christmas, and if baby decides that they wants to come out then, well I will do my very best for them too.

A x

The scan was brill can't believe how clear it all was when u think about how small it still is. I was really bricking it since movements been less over last few days and had convinced self something was wrong still is settling in that it's a boy. As I said on the previous thread have to have another scan cos it wouldn't move for a clear view will be my 4th it's nice to see it/him again.

I had my scan yesterday, and all is looking good. He is most definitely a boy; I think DH was very proud :o

Warning to anyone who doesn't know or is 'silly' enough to try - DO NOT LAMINATE SCAN PHOTOS. To anyone who does know - I wish someone had told me! A colleague was going on at me to laminate them so I said go ahead, and melted the photos! Turns out they are printed on thermal paper, which I've never encountered before, though luckily the hospital are posting out two more photos (but not before the gentleman I asked made me cry by calling me silly, which after having melting photos of my baby's face, I did not need to hear!) so all is well.

Even though I am sure it will get annoying after a while, I can't wait to feel my baby moving and feel those first kicks. Nothing so far. At the moment having really bad pains in my left side, pretty sure it is constipation :( never had that before and I am NOT enjoying it. Other rotten side effects (apart from the never-ending headaches) are the horrible pelvic girdle pain in my left bum cheek - ow! And the feeling like I am going to conk out which has happened a couple of times this week too. Being pregnant sure ain't fun. At least it hasn't been for me so far - when is this 'blooming' phase everyone tells me will happen?

p.s annekins thanks for that reassurance re: Christmas babies - mine is due actually on Christmas day so there is only a very low chance it will actually be born then but it is very likely its birthday will be very close to Christmas.

If you want to safeguard your scan pics, we found the best we could do was to take a picture of them with our phones (so all you have in the pic is the scan bit) and then print them onto photo paper using a good quality photo printer.

We did this primarily so my step-son could take a pic to his mums to keep in his bedroom :)

Ours turned out really well but I guess it depends on the resolution of your phone and quality of printer you use.

I am officially half way today seems like ages ago since got the postive test on 15th April, am going home to scotland this weekend can tell F+F about it being a boy and leaving DH to prep nursery (he cant wait anymore). Starting to buy things next month and go through all the freebies we have already had.

On the movement thing i started feeling it from about 17 weeks and then last week it stopped (hence why i was almost throwing up with worry on the way to the scan yesterday). My Placenta is at the front of the womb now so has been absorbing the kicks unfortunately my bladder is now getting it i have seen an increase in loo stops over last few days. Couldnt believe how great the scan was it was so clear saw fingers and when she was trying to check for the cleft lip baby was talking to self amazing!! Get another one in a couple of weeks to check what they couldnt yesterday nice to see him again. I am SO not maternal but it is now feeling real.

Figgy, the face pictures are great aren't they? Though, mine did remind me slightly of the Mothman Prophecies, and Jigsaw out of the Saw films...bit scary :o I said that to one of my colleagues, who said "He can hear you, you know". I never even thought about that! :)

Oh, and I forgot to mention the jiggly dance I had to do to get him in the right position for the face photo...glad I left my dignity at the door.

Today i have been getting pains in my stomach... they feel like stretching pains... anyone else having these yet? I guess they are a good sign that belly is trying to get bigger! Even though they are annoying!! As long as i dont get the linear nigra!

Oooooooooh exciting! I'm SURE I just felt baby moving around! It felt like scraping across my insides (sorry, can't make it sound more pleasant than that)!!

Just happened to be whilst I was on the phone to Daddy too so as you can imagine, he's taking full credit for it!!! Haha!

Hi All,

I'm due 18th December :) Next scan is 2nd Aug, really looking forward to seeing my baby again and finding out the sex! I've felt bubbling since 13 weeks and real kicks and movement since 16 weeks - so weird. I asked my midwife if I was weird for feeling movement that early but apparently its because I'm so small and it depends how in tune you are with your body (I knew I was pregnant after 7 days because I felt weird pains, but hadn't had a period in months anyway because I'm so irregular). I have to say feeling my baby move is my favourite thing about being pregnant. I'm a high risk pregnancy and it's so reassuring, but fun at the same time, as I had to have 10 weeks off work sick, and wasn't enjoying it, but feeling it move has created a really special sense of bonding and I've not even met my baby yet. Can't wait for Dec!

What is everyone else's favourite thing about being pregnant so far?

Hi I have felt movement from about 16 weeks first like a butterfly moving around tummy. I felt a big kick last week know the baby only half a pound but wasnt imagining it. Feel it move after a cold drink and at night when in bed before go sleep. Find out what Im having in 2 weeks so excited. I got a feeling its a boy but dont mind either as its my first and no preferance just have a feeling.xx
