Continuing bladder chat, I was told to drink a pint of liquid, but bambino didn't move during the scan so I was told to go and get rid of said pint to try to get it to wriggle - the scan quality before and after seemed the same.

Marking my place!

Today is going slow. Really had enough waiting now for the scan. I will have had it in 3 days time at this time of day - Friday @ 2.30pm. Keeping everything crossed.

Keep the happy scan news coming!

I ended up with an internal because apparently my bladder wasn't full enough. She didn't half go at me with the scanner - feel like I've been done by Jon Holmes. On the plus side, all is well, due date is 3rd December, and we got some good photos.

How much are people paying for them? In Yorkshire we paid £4 and got 4/5. In the SW, we paid £10 for 3. Blimey.

We paid £4 and got 2 pictures (in Ascot). They each came in a little card with a cartoon stork on the front though so definitely value for money Hmm

Wish I could have another scan now. I had to ring to change the date of my 20 week scan and July 14th seems so far away!!

Glad the scans are going ok. I'll have had mine this time tomorrow, very nervous. We've decided we'll stop at Tesco on the way home and get ingredients for a nice meal on the way home so I'm looking forward to that.

We paid £5 for 2, sounds like it is like the appointments, very different depending on where in the country you are.

I managed to break a tooth last week, found out today that my lovely private dentist does free nhs dentistry for his pregnant patients and this continues for a year after the baby is born.

14 weeks on Friday and 2 weeks today until my next midwife appointment, the bruise has almost faded from where blood was taken last time.

Has anyone else post the 12 week mark still got Ms? It isn't as bad as it was but is definitely still there!

Good luck to those of you having scans over the next few days/weeks

Scan went well phew! They couldn't do nuchal readings as baby was lying awkwardly. Gave us lots of pictures but can't really see much. On one it looks like the evil monkey from family guy. Good luck everyone else with scans.

It's hard to believe how much prices vary for scan photos. Our hospital charges £1 each (It did when we had DS anyway). My sisters hospital charged £5 each, think I'd ask both our mothers to pay for their own scan photos at that price!

Signing in. Meant to say in the other thread. They scanned me today then got me to empty my bladder again to try and get baby to move into the right position it didn't work but the image was still clear after emptying.

I am 12+4 london I have been boaking a bit today. Especially when this idiot in the waiting room decided he would wind up his partner by deliberately making loud retching noises Angry. I haven't been sick though.

Wow sounds like you guys got off easy with the scan photos!! I had my scan, blood tests, etc today and we had to pay £6 for one photo (in Birmingham). I wasn't offered more than one, and didn't get to hear a heartbeat (saw it beating on the screen though - so no panic). Went to Max Spielmann's after and spent 76p on three copies!

As for the full bladder thing - I made sure I had a full bladder but they kept me waiting so long, I thought I was going to burst!!

We got 9 photos for suggested donation of £3. Can't see much though. So exciting telling friends.

They just ask for a voluntary donation here.

Comfy new thread...

'grats to everyone having good news from their scans. Good stuff.

Booking in tomorrow. Still looking for childcare. I hate half-term sometimes. On top of that, I'm ravenously hungry and have already had my dinner. Tempted to order a massive comfort pizza :(

Just checking in on the new thread. Feeling v proud you chose my name suggestion :)

Pleased to hear about all the good scans today....keep the good news coming!

Had to pay £4 per scan photo here (Northampton). Was in Newham (E London) at start of last pregnancy and they had a flat charge of £5 for as many photos as the sonographer got, which in my case was 4. Very variable depending on where you are!

Saying a quick hello - have been on first timers thread a few times but never actually made it on to this one (despite checking in most days). EDD 4th Dec 13+2. Great news on all the scans!

Hello - I am on another Dec thread but decided to join here as well - scan in 10 days - so can't wait, am SO IMPATIENT!!!! I just want to see everything is okay! Good to see the good scan stories, as I have been worrying myself silly about MMC. Had a horrid day yesterday, so exhausted and sick, but feel fine today - woohoo. Now to get lots of work done!

Hello. I haven't been on in ages as was away on holiday and am now trying to revise for an OU exam on June 13th. I'm really dreading it and am still feeling horribly sick which doesn't help.

I had my scan and consultant appointment yesterday. Everything looked fine altough my uterus is really high up for some reason (explains the massive bump!) and they've given me a due date of 8th Dec, making me 12+6 today. I will find the stats thread and update when I get a chance.

I'll need to go and catch up on the old thread now.

Good luck to those with scans coming up.

Hi Ladies,
Thought i would jump in on new thread as tended to just read the old ones! Had my scan last week, and baby was a bit smaller than we expected so due date got pushed back to Dec 11th, little one was too small for them to do nuchal scan so i have to go back for a second scan in a week.

I'm excited to get to see the baby again so soon! Pictures cost me £6 for two, but managed to get one really good one.

It says nothing in my scan appointment letter about drinking before the scan - did any of your letters have specific details? Maybe I should ring up and enquire.
