Well I guess mini eggs aren't choc biscuits so technically I'm allowed them... Grin Though my rapidly re-expanding thighs suggest otherwise

I'm thinking more of pancakes with nutella tonight, but after all of this mini-eggs discussion I am tempted to get some tomorrow, I haven't had any for years!

Hello everyone

Glad to see everyone seems to be well - although it's always a job catching up, so apologies for lack of any personal comments!

I'm feeling good to be in the third trimester, and seem to have got over my super-tired hump of a week or two ago. Having said that, just started snuffling and feel like I could be coming down with something... U-oh.

Had our first nct ante-natal class at the weekend, and we both enjoyed it. Teacher did an amazing thing with a rucksack (heavy) that the partners had to pop on, up front, for a bit. Then she emptied it - and it was full of all the stuff you 'add on' in pregnancy. 2 litres water for the amniotic fluid, 1lb porridge oats for the placenta, a fully weighted 6lb doll, more liquid for extra blood, veg oil for the fat laid down for breast feeding... and more. It really was an eye opener to see it all like that.

We also went to an nct nearly new sale and got heaps of stuff - baby bath, mamas and papas play mat, baby towels, clothes, all for next to nothing. Nearly made up for the parking fine we stupidly managed while there...

Ah well.

Quick question re moses baskets: we've been given one second hand, but I can see a stand would be handy. Are they one size fits all? Does anyone know?

Also mothers... oh my lord, I sympathise. Mine is just enfuriating. She's so messy, never does ANYTHING when she's here (don't think she's ever even made me a cup of tea), won't even walk down the corner shop, and she seems to think she's going to be our saviour when the baby comes.... I've told her, long weekends only (she lives 4hrs drive away) but I think even that will be stressful. What to do??!

Hello! Tues or Weds pm is good for duck feeding here. jasmine and lisa Sorry your mum is being so rubbish lisa Mine goes home tomorrow after a brief stay and I think we'll all be crying at the station. My DC's adore her and she has just made DH and me pancakes and is now washing up. What not to like? Can't do chocolate at all any more because it has been giving me horrid headaches, but G&B's butterscotch would be my first choice. DD's have given up chocolate and sweets for Lent so spent a long time this evening eating up their supplies to keep them out of temptation's way :)

x-post BP I appreciate I am very lucky to have a mum who does stuff. She runs a b&b with my dad so never sits down. That said she is very clumsy and somewhere between pouring and drinking her third glass of wine has thrown the glass on the floor and smashed it. O well.

motherof i also have a mom who does stuff.......if i go away for the weekend and they have been to feed cats i can return to an empty washing basket and all my ironing done. She will come and help me clean ( as i can be just a little untidy!!!) if i ask and help me in the garden. At the minute my dad comes each week to wheel the bin to the road ( i live down a track and have to take it to the road for collection)
I am going to miss them so much when i move.......:(

Evening ladies,

Just a quickie, just got back from our first NCT class. Anyone umming over whether to book them due to cost/stereotypes etc? Do it!

I think we may have lucked out but the woman running the class seems lovely, the other couples (6 of them) seem lovely and it seems like we'll go over loads of useful stuff. Am really looking forward to the next one already Grin

Just tucking into pancakes with golden syrup and bananas, purely medicinal you understand - hoping the bananas will help with the calf cramps obviously! Wink

Hi all, thanks for the new thread Clarkiee.
Hope everyone is ok & a big hello & welcome to the new ladies :)

am afraid my mind is permanently afford these days & I would struggle to post individual msg's sorry.

Thanks 4 the hello though Daisy :) it is nice 2 be back even though I'm not saying much these days.

Re sleep, For me it depends on the pelvic pain. Some nights I seem to get the pillows just right but most nights The pain wakes me up when I must be moving in my sleep. Might look into seeing osteopath. Am having trouble getting to sleep too but I think that's more about worrying than pg!

I love mini eggs too! Been feeling v off my food again recently though so am letting myself indulge if I feel I want chocolate or toast for dinner as it must be better than nothing?!

I've not been at the mini eggs but I can't stop snaffling chocolate covered raisins. Think they count as one of my 5 a day??

Worth a try Oscar!

Out of interest are everyones babies still changing position a lot? Mine has been sat bum down for weeks now, I know lots are breech at this stage (am 28+5) but might start doing stuff to get her moving.

Dress update It's not bloody in stock and won't be for 2 months! THE WEDDING'S IN 3 1/2 WEEKS!!! They're trying to order another one in for me which they're hoping will be in by the end of the week that's the same but in ivory. Not really what I wanted but better than the jeans and jumper dress I've been living in for the last month! I've also ordered this one but they're out of size 12 so have got size 14. And I'm thinking about bidding on another creamy coloured dress on ebay just to be safe. One of them has to be ok. I keep telling myself that anyway. Who in their right mind would decide it's a good idea to plan a wedding in a month while they're 6 months pregnant? Grin

Hey Everyone,

Sorry I've been so quiet as you've all been super sweet in welcoming me to the thread. (I've been swamped with work of late and now am packing for a trip to California tomorrow first thing so I'll be gone again for a while.)

CMH1stbaby - regarding moses baskets, I'm going to try to do with just cotbeds to save some money as twins will quickly get expensive. Many people do say that they don't last very long so hopefully the cot-beds will do. We're going for Ikea's version as they're cheaper and the smallest cot-beds I can find. If all goes well it'll mean we'll be set for 3+ years with just one type of bed.

LisasCat - sorry you had such a rough time with your mom. Like Jasmine I'm sending calming vibes your way - it's hard to control other people and stop them from projecting their negative thoughts. The best way I've found is to just avoid them :)

loueytb3 - good luck with your MW tomorrow - definitely need to take care of that UTI. They do say that they're quite common during pregnancy.

tinyk - I'd call your GP too. I'm going to St. George's as they have a twins speciality unit and have to say I'm impressed so far as I've had a list of all my set appts since week 12.

Clarkiee - thank's for starting the new thread! So you're having twins too? Can I ask, I'm just over 24weeks now and my belly button area has been sore and i've had sharp pains this week. It seems like my insy is becoming an outsy. Have you or anyone else had that? It's quite weird and I'm thinking of putting a bandaid on it to stop my shirts from rubbing...

regarding mini-eggs - have to admit I prefer the normal sized ones :o - just a bit messy to eat.

Sending lots of hugs to everyone. Hope you enjoyed pancake day!!!

Thornykate - just saw your note on pelvic pain...are you using a pillow between your legs? I do every night and as long as it stays I'm fine the next day. Otherwise, I need to put one between my legs for about 15min before I get up out of bed to make the pain go away.

I meant to say in my last post, (rather than waffling on about dresses)how appropriate it seems that the main conversation at the beginning of the new thread is chocolate!

Sorry you're having trouble with your mum Lisa. What is it about mums thinking they have a right to say whatever comes into their head regarding their daughters. My mum's generally ok but has a tendency to be rude and critical to me and my sister, when she's the most polite and tactful person to everyone else in the world!

Right, I need mini eggs now!!
