Wow!!! I hadn't realised we were that chatty, surely it must be some kind of record... does anyone know how many threads we've had now? Grin

Marking my place on what surely must be the birth story thread

How the flipping heck did we fill up the last thread so quickly? Confused

NeedToSleep, I wouldn't count on it, I reckon this thread will be full by the start of February Grin

grannyapple thanks for setting up new thread!!

snowangels I was induced with dd2 and once labour started properly, it only took 2.5 hours Grin, much shorter than dd1.

So wiggles you think the induction might have speeded things up more than usual?

New thread already? I must stop talking so much Wink

Hey everyone, I'm due 19 feb and popped on here months ago but have been a busy bee since, so not been back!
It's my last week at work next week and DD will still be attending nursery for 3 days so I'm predicting more time for chatting! :)
How is everyone feeling? I'm just starting to get excited now and am almost having to carry my bump around in my arms it's grown that much in the last week or so!
Hope you're all well - has anyone had their bubba early?

I'm not sure but I had a really positive induction experience. I had two gel packs at 7am, wandered about, listened to i-pod, watched tv, used the phone, read book etc. I was only monitored for about 15 mins, no drip etc. Had a few baths. Went into labour after a bath at about 4pm, had dd2 at 6.45pm, was mobile the whole time, had dd kneeling by side of bed, Mr Wiggles made it by the skin of his teeth. Know some people who don't have great inductions but its like any birth stories you usually only hear the bad ones Grin

interesting read wiggles . My mum said she had me 4 hours after having the pessary for induction though - as in 4 hours total from induction to birth Shock . I thought that seemed rather quick.

welcome back mumby - a couple have had babies already but lots of us here seem to be close but no sausage yet (the no sausage remark btw is an angels1 official term used instead of 'close but no cigar' in the angels household. Can't think how it started but comes naturally now Wink ).

Hello all, thanks for new thread! I am starting to fear you all having your babies and abandoning those of us late February ones alone... I still have 5 weeks to go!

Feeling rubish as well, sooo tired, and moody, everyday am in a terrible mood snaping and being rude too. PInkie, not working might be the answer. I too have to sort out MA, waiting for the form from my employer, it has taken them about a month!

I now have to go to my woodworking class... it does not seem such a nice idea now (until 10pm...) and just want to go to bed.

Evening all!

Sorry I thought I posted earlier but it's disappeared - stupid iPhone!

All went well at the hosp and although still high, BP is not dangerously high. Going back again on Monday. MW was fab and the hosp have created a Day Assesment Unit for this purpose with 2 beds and 2 dedicated midwives. Also had a flat screen TV and bloody water cooler! Almost looking forward to going back!!!!!!

Just had a roast and can hardly move!!!!!!! Prob gained an extra kg in the last 15 mins!!!!!!

Thanks snowAngels :) and congratulations to everyone who has their lovely new babies!
Knittakid (or 'inorganic' as my iPhone keeps changing you to!) I reckon I'll be in it for the long haul with you - unless curries and bedroom activity helps move things along a bit quicker!
I am also grumpy at the moment and poor DP is taking the brunt of it!
Enjoy your woodwork class and look forward to he lovely sleep when you get home! :)

Evening everyone...hilarious that we're on yet another new thread!

DH and I made the effort to venture out tonight, which is the first time since xmas. Lovely to be out, though I was soooooo uncomfortable and LO was clearly trying out martial arts moves again. Pathetically we were home by 8.30 so I could get horizontal!

Thanks for setting up the new thread granny! Going to the OB in a minute and will probably find out I am as dilated as I was last week! Hope you're all having a great Thursday! Glad your bp has come down debka.

Hi all, feeling big and heavy still! Got to go to hospital tomorrow for BP check and monitoring. Wouldn't mind so much if they didn't charge £2 to park, anyone else think it's a cheeky rip off? Cost us a fortune when I had DD.

PDR what do they consider high? My BP at hosp was 140/84- I didn't think that was very high and not quite sure what all the fuss is about.

angels my induction was fine, not 4 hours Shock lucky mum, but 2 days- nothing much happened the first day, then the second my waters broke naturally and all took off from then. Had DD at 5pm.

knitta can't believe you go OUT until 10PM- I'll be in bed by 9.30!!

Wow, new thread Grin thanks Grannyapple.

I can't believe there are 17 posts on here already! Hopefully this thread will bring us good luck and the next baby soon!

My friend had a really positive induction experience. She had a small baby (just over 6 lbs) so I don't know if that was anything to do with it. She was induced at 37 weeks too. She said that she had a really good labour!

Goodness, I now realise why I couldn't keep up with the last thread, it went so quickly! Thanks for setting this up, Granny.

I feel for you, knitta, by the time our antenatal class is over on a Thursday, we get home by 10.15ish. It's funny as we are all beginning to fall asleep in the class! One of the women is truly terrified, even so much so that my OH noticed, and he is not the most observant when it comes to that sort of thing.

35 weeks today! So between 5 to 7 to go now for me! MW this morning, wonder what she'll be telling me today :-)

Have a lovely morning ladies!

pinkie I am self employed too and only realised a few days ago that i am not up to date with NI payments!( when i say not up to date, i mean havent paid any! keep bloody forgetting) I am going to pay today in a lump sum then get the maternity allowance sent off. I filled it in online then printed it off much quicker than waiting on direct gov to send it out! I hope i qualify for the MA otherwise i will be up the creek!

Tkanks grannyapple for the new thread, cant believe how quickly the last one went! Oh and bring on the babies....................

PDR sounds like you have v nice hospital favilities to get stuck in :)

ledkr good luck with matilda later and hope all goes well and you're not too uncomfy. Do you have a seat by the aisle so if you feel squashed you can pop out for a stretch/loo break etc? I'm a bit obsessional about getting aisle seats Wink

Well, am devastated to find out [sarcastic emoticon] that MILs cheapy foam cot mattress she got us doesn't fit our cot Grin . We've since discovered since the cot is mamas and papas that only mamas and papas mattresses fit them (such a shame.... Wink ). So will have to return the cheap one that is literally a bit of foam with a cover which is made from that really cheap material like you get shoe/bag bags in when you buy a posh pair of shoes or bag to store them in (not that I buy posh shoes or bags that much sadly) and looks like it will not last the test of time at all. Am now scanning m&p website in hope of a nice mattress Wink

Health visitor this morning, hope she's not too scary as our house is a tip after DH did more loft sorting yesterday. She will be ushered and contained solely in the sitting room Wink

New thread, and hopefully some lovely news to go with it!! Just marking my place really. Went shopping for some MORE last minute bits and pieces- nice organic mattress - really important to have a nice one, angels I completely agree!!, sheets etc. for the crib. Also very tempted by Moses baskets, they look so sweet, but they aren't used for that long so we'll see.
How about changing bags? I'm quite keen but have to find one that DP will carry, and haven't seen any that I love...
Anyway, feel well everyone

Morning ladies, Friday again, the end of another week and one step closer to due dates!

angels I can only imagine your distress at the mattress not fitting. I hope you are getting enough RL support at this difficult time ;-)

wiggles it's really nice to hear a positive induction experience, it's one of the things that has been nagging the back of my mind a bit.

I've started really thinking about the birth now. I was earlier on completely not bothered about what happened, happy just to go with the flow and see what I wanted needed in the thick of it so to speak, but since AN classes, if anything I have got a bit more prescriptive about what I would 'ideally' like, as in if everything goes well, which in turn has made me worry more about the 'what if everything doesn't go well' side of things. I know it's something I can't control, and I know I'm probably worrying because I have heard a few horror stories lately from 'friends' etc. but it's still a weird, knowing this enormous event is looming, knowing there is a likelihood that it's not something I can control, but at the same really hoping there are elements where I do get to influence how my baby arrives, in a positive way.

So that's a bit of blah blah blah, but anyway, moving on.

Am not sleeping badly at the moment, I do still roam the house with my pillow to find new comfy positions in the middle of the night, but in between that, I am actually sleeping, which is something to be grateful for!

Hope everyone is staying happy and healthy. All the very best to anyone whose baby might decide to put in an appearance this weekend!

Dx

ledkr I was thinking it mut be strange for you and Ella having been a little team and now another little girl. You'll be grand, love multiples not divides when it comes to children, (but you know this being our equivalent to the von Trapp family Grin), besides give it time and they'll be ganging up on you Grin

byron sssh don't mention changing bags, I was obsessed with them for dds, have somehow managed to avoid the issue this time, haven't got one, still carrying about Peppa Pig back pack for dd2 so waiting and seeing what to do.

I have midwife appt this afternoon, so we'll see if there's any news, not expecting any but I'm really sore!! Also dd1 has gymnastics this pm so am dreading it after the vending machine fiasco of last week, dd2 will have to manage without her onion rings Grin

debka just a quick post as got to go to shops but I think they consider anything over 85 as high and over 100 as very high. Mine has been 140-160 / 83-110 not sure why it fluctuates so much tbh maybe depending on how much physical activity I've been doing. Good luck at the hospital :)
