Here Miss.

Oh thank goodness I'm not in school anymore. Ohh look it's so clean and shiney. Is that a playpen for bored kids I see in the corner?

Thanks for starting the new thread neenewps.

ttl glad the bleeding's getting better. On 3 occasions I've had very heavy bleeding, far heavier than any period I've ever had (a bit Blush when it happens in a supermarket and suddenly gushes through your trousers with no warning!) I think that much blood is fairly unusual but it goes to show that all can be fine, even after that! I was told I may carry on bleeding for my whole pregnancy but it stopped at around 14 weeks so hopefully I won't be having any more.

Hi everyone! Hope all's well.

My mw appt was cancelled today as blood results still not back from the lab. The more I think of the Down's result, the more I'd rather just not know. Feels so strange to be given an obscure number for Down's Syndrome but not for cystic fibrosis, hair lip, club foot....etc etc. Getting a bit hot and bothered about it and not looking forward to waiting another week.

Have been bought some lovely things for Christmas and had to sneak in for a sniff and snuggle of them earlier. Pregnancy hormones are really running high today!

Jasmine that's so rubbish about the scan - I really hope they sort domething out for you.

I have a lovely big pot of lentil soup on the cooker - made my own stock and everything - very proud of myself Grin

Jasmine I'm Oxford too, well, out in the sticks, but using the JR. I've got my 20 week booked for 3rd Feb - they made the appointment when I was there at my 12 week. Does this mean mine might be cancelled too? Or had they not made an appointment for you in the first place and now they're not bothering to try to fit you in?

The waiting room and the wait when I went for my 12 week was bonkers - not sure how many were 12 weekers, but there were a lot of scans taking place that day. We joked that it was probably all the university and publishing employees, facing the threat of redundancy, who'd got themselves up the duff to get some job security for a bit (can't be made redundant on maternity leave!).

Lisa (big wave hello across Oxfordshire)
they didnt cancel my 20 wk, I just never got one. My 12 wk one was shortened because they couldnt get a good enough image of the bub and were too busy to repeat it. After that I just kind of got dropped off the radar. I went to Beardmill for my 12 wk but cant afford to do that again..fab as it was.

Am with Silverstar at the JR for the time being and absolutely love those ladies. As my risk level has been put up again, perversely I am hoping to stay with them for the duration and not be demoted to regular care!

I can't believe this about the cancelled scans! If you didn't get a thorough 12 week jasmine can't you use that as leverage to get the 20 week scan even though they're busy? Maybe there's a baby boom in Oxfordshire :)

mummy really sorry to hear you've had scares too. DH is home now and has been amazing - he was all on standby to get a taxi 20 miles to the hospital if I had to go and he's given me a lot of attention and is cooking me tea :) Bit silly considering it was just two wipes on tissue, but I'm in my slanket, got a hot water bottle, and lapping it up :)

Ooh lisascat I had totally forgotten you can't get made redundant on maternity leave. I work at a uni ... whoop whoop :)

Quite jealous of TTL's slanket, hot water bottle and dinner-being-made-ness Envy
I'm knackered, the house is a tip and the kids are driving me mad - half an hour til their bedtime - yee haa!!!!

My SIL bought me one for Christmas ... to much hilarity from everyone all round, and slight disturbance from me (I think she was afraid to buy me anything pretty because I'm pregnant now Grin). At Christmas we mainly used it as a forfeit (i.e., you lose a round of Jenga, you have to play the next round wearing the slanket ... oh yes, the TTL house is as sad as that).

But our house is cold and I'm feeling lazy so I pulled it out of the drawer today. I'm etting used to it. It's a bit static though, so I'm sort of like a fat pink plasma lamp radiating sparks at the moment. Sexy Grin

Hope everyone is feeling ok and slightly more human than we were.

Oh and Happy New Year to you all and what a year its going to be!

Hi everyone,
Hope you feel better TTL!

Who has had/or hasn't had the flu jab?
I'm not usually one for vaccines against routine illnesses, however back to work next week, nothing too risky, jsut usual office stuff and reading through all the press lately wondering if I should request the jab?

I'm pretty healthy usually, and think I had tthe flu once about 10 years ago, but usually manage to miss the colds and flus that go round.

However not so naive to think, I'm invinsible so wondering if I should call the GP. Had a midwife appointment last week and it wasn't mentioned?

Clarkiee · 06/01/2011 19:01

Had a scan today and found out that (contrary to what the last sonogragpher said) I'm actually having GIRLS Smile Glad I'd not told anyone we thought it was boys now.

Saw the midwife afterwards and she told me all about twin twin transfusion (basically with identical twins sometimes one of them takes more of the good stuff from the placenta and the other one doesn't grow properly- it can cause a great risk for both twins) because she thought it might be occuring, as one twin is bigger than the other! In serious cases you could miscarry both or one of the twins or they could be born from 28 weeks Shock. She said I needed another scan that afternoon with a consultant. I asked what would happen if they found it and she said I would have to go to Manchester Children Hospital asap. So I finished the appointment (went to the loo and shed a tear Sad) then returned home for a few hours. My DH came over for the second scan (with my mum in the morning). Luckily consultant didn't think it was the case at the moment but I've got to have another scan next week so they can monitor me. Very scary, I'm knackered now because I've been worrying all day.

Whoever also said that they didn't like being pregnant much today (sorry can't remember who it was) was not in the minority because most people have said they don't like it and I've gone right off it today!

What is a Slanket is it the same as a Snuggie? because I'm currently wearing one of those that my little bro got me for Christmas (I look a big pink marshmallow).

p.s I'm thinking about boycotting Eastenders that storyline is ridiculous and depicts mother who is experiencing cot death in a very bad way.

misshoohaa I've had the flu jab

Clarkiee what a surprise about the girls!
I'm not surprised you've been a bit upset - hope you're feeling better now and fingers crossed they are happy with everything next week again.

I hate the EE storyline too - so Sam Womack has quit and looks like they might change the story a bit according to the press today.

Hello again, its nice to be back!

I was starting to get worried as I dont think I have felt any movements yet either, everyone I meet keeps asking me if I can feel it kicking yet. "noooo" not yet blah blah blah

No morning sickness still but if Im hungry I still do a fair amount of retching

misshoohaa I haven't had the flu jab. Like you, I've only had flu once before and that was 15 years ago. I am rarely ill and no-one has contacted me offering it. I'm due to see the MW for my 20 week scan in 2 weeks so if they mention it I might have it but I haven't been proactively trying to get it.

Clarkiee how exciting about girls! Glad to hear that the second scan went well and that they're going to keep a close eye on you.
