Feb babies 2011 - We may not be glowing but we're definitely growing!

The old thread was getting quite full so I took the liberty of starting a new one, I hope nobody minds! I thought I'd keep in with our glowing and growing theme (I'm not very creative, sorry).

Hi Tarlia

I think when it was warm enough I'd just use the long sleeved vest thingies as a top with trousers or skirt etc for DD, although she was a summer baby so different season to this one.

Hi W.Sheep ~waves back~

Yeah, thats what I thought, they are also handy for under short sleeved tshirts too when they are a bit bigger. I just find newborns often scream alot when undressed so getting their arm in such a tight long sleeve can be tricky, so was going to avoid that situation. I just don't want to be a meanie mummy! Haha

Wanderingsheep · 29/09/2010 20:58

Before DD was born I always thought that I'd have her in pretty dresses constantly. When she came along she always looked so uncomfortable lying there in a pretty dress and it didn't feel right so I started dressing her in soft things and keeping her in babygros if we weren't going anywhere. So much easier!

Putting stuff over her head used to make me feel a bit queasy at first too as her fontanelle used to seem really pronounced.

I'm not going to buy anything other than babygros actually, so unless people buy me outfits, then s/he will always be in one. I just think they look so much more comfy. I wish I could wear something like that all day long haha

I will probably get one of two pj comments, but I don't care :)

Ooh, I was walking past Primark the other day and guess what they had! Pyjamas that were like adult babygros! They had the feet and everything! I WANT some! DH took one look at me and said, "they're ridiculous, there's no way your getting one!" Grin they look so comfy. They were fleecy, probably not that good if you need the loo in the night though.

wandering someone else mentioned the adult babygros to me last week, afraid I've started the middle of the night running to the toilet so no go for me!! Afraid if dh saw me in that he'd lose all hope of libido returning Grin

Hello ladies! Is anyone else finding the weeks between the scan and 24 weeks (when it has a chance of survival) taking forever? I feel like I haven't moved on at all. Outfits may be cute but babygros are so much easier to put on!

Report
Wanderingsheep · 29/09/2010 21:35

There are some nice babygros in Vertbaudet which look a little dressier for during the day. They look sooo comfy and snuggly too.

Hmm, those adult ones in Primark aren't very sexy are they? Grin but I'm a flannel/fleecy PJs and furry slippers kinda gal! Poor DH!

Meant to say... 24 weeks was my goal for relaxing last time. I just so wanted to get to that stage and I wouldn't buy anything until then. I haven't had the scan yet, it's next week so his baby had better have it's legs uncrossed! Grin

Welcome to all the newbies!

Just a quick one from me - if any of you have entered a bidding war on ebay over some winnie the pooh nursery stuff please stop now - I WILL WIN!!!! :o

I too had been wondering about the whole issue of dressing them too, hadn't even considered that they would need something under a baby grow!Blush

So for those sleeping bag things, baby grow then in the sleeping bag? How do you know what tog one to get, they are not that cheap and I need double!Shock

Report
hubbard86 · 29/09/2010 23:39

Jackinthebump
the temp of the room will determine the tog of the sleeping bag. They come in 1tog and 2.5tog normally for feb i'd get the heavier one. For a colder night you can use a babygrow with vests, or a long sleeve vest if you have good heating. Changing bums is a lot easier in the middle of the night with just a vest to deal with. Asda do some winnie the pooh sleeping bags for about £10 which is a lot cheaper than other places when u have to buy more than one

ProfessorLaytonIsMyLoveSlave · 30/09/2010 00:06

If you look at the bumpto3 website they have a handy chart of what layers to wear with a sleeping bag of a specific tog in a room at a particular temperature.

Morning all! Ooh, a shiny new thread. I can't believe how quickly we filled the old one Blush

I've been quite busy the last few days, I am trying to sort my application for LLL leadership training- yes, I think I might be nuts.

Also I spoke to my MiL last night and she's given us some brilliant news- they are selling their holiday cabin and when it's sold and after the baby is born they are going to pay for us to go over to Canada and visit! Grin Grin DD has never met her Canadian family so I'm hoping we'll be able to have a big family reunion.

Hello everyone, I haven't been on here for ages! I'm sure I haven't been missed!! I'm sellng (or rather NOT selling so far) my flat & looking at property... What it has meant is that apart from an expanding bump I've been forgetting I'm even pregnant! I've been given a sharp reminder the last 2 days with distinct SPD symptoms again (had this with first preg) anyone else?is this the time it usually kicks in? I think it was earlier last time. Hopefully it won't last, it's really energy sapping and I'm shuffling like an old lady! 20 week scan was last week and all is looking well with bub (phew!). Big congrats to everyone else for good results & for lots of known sexes I see!! It's lovely to hear! This one is a surprise as we don't get told in this area but I like the surprise element! I'll try to be less of a stranger, sorry for missing lots of threads over the last few weeks :-( I hope I haven't missed anything too major... Take care everyone & waves to those I've not met yet! Xxx

I gave up with the last one as it got so full I couldn't keep up. Glad to see I'm still on the list though.

Had my scan last week, its a girl (well they are 85% sure). I couldn't resist buying pink dresses this week though.

Have a DS so one of each will be nice, as would 2 the same. Really didn't care. Grin
