Hi everyone, and sorry for getting on so late ... these little babas seem to take up a lot of time ... I catch myself just gazing at Clara, and not knowing wether 5 minutes or 1hour have gone by ...
Anyway, I should have probably posted something right after the birth, everything seems far away now ...amazing how quick you forget.
Clara Helen was born on the 04/05 at 04:28 in the morning. My waters had broken the day before, and I spend most of the day in the maternity being monitored, mainly 'cause Clara wasnt moving much, even though the monitor showed she was fine ...begged to go back home to sleep at 21:00, drove home with DH at 22:00 and drove back to the maternity at 01:00 DH was completely out of it as he had just fallen asleep about an hour before hand. When I got there was only 3cm dilated ..which is the dilation I was at when I left a few hours before ... but then everything seemed to go really fast ...although I think the 2 stage lasted at least 1hour, or so it seemed, I seemed to be pushing forever, with the midwife saying "go on, go on,go on" ...which made me think of the series Father Ted, and made me laugh ...anyway the only painrelief was the tens machine, which seemed to work randomly, depending on my position ... I distinctly remember begging for an epidural ...but at that stage I was fully dilated ...anyway, Clara was born 3 1/2 hours after getting to the midwives unit ... I wasnt able to go in the pool due to StrepB and had to stay in the Hospital because they were checking Clara for infections, but she was absolutely fine ... but staying in the hospital for 3 days was probably the biggest nightmare ...you just dont get any sleep. Anyway, I've recovered now and Clara is lovely
