DazedEmma Fri 05-Sep-08 14:11:59

just a quick question, she has been sleeping/waking every 3 hours, but has is staying awake longer and sleeping less now, is this normal?

BarbieLovesKen Fri 05-Sep-08 14:30:49

Completely normal!! (well was for us anyway!) She is just becoming more "alert" I would imagine and from my experience all babies sleep alot more at the beginning after the big trauma of being born (tis hard work smile

She is absolutely beautiful!! congratulations pet xx

callmeovercautious Fri 05-Sep-08 22:04:28

Yes they become more alert - as if they are getting over the shock of it all smile If you are BFing it may also have something to do with the change from colostrum to milk at about day 3. I hope she is doing well smile

Nappyzoneneedssleep Fri 05-Sep-08 22:32:10

Congratulatons! Oh yes so tired your eyes droop when feeding, ah fond memories.

Some hormone partic during feeding, it'll pass and settle into a (barely) acceptable level of eternal tiredness
