Hi guys, hope you are well? Im 11weeks on Tuesday and will be having my dating scan that week. Just wondering when (what week) did you announce your pregnancy and how did you do it? Looking for some good ideas and examples. Thank you xSmile

We are announcing ours on mother’s day to our respective mothers, we are putting a photograph of our dog in their Mother’s Day card, my dog will be sat next to a sign that reads ‘only child expires sept 2019’ (as everyone knows my dog is my little baby!). We will be over 12 wks by that date - about 14 weeks, but we would have had our dating scan by then and hopefully have the all clear/past the safety line. So I don’t think it will hurt a few more weeks to keep it to ourselves and tie the announcement in with mother’s day to make their day extra special.

Never did. Figured it’d become obvious over time! Also cuts down the number of times you have to answer the “how are you feeling then?” question if you leave it till later.

I was happy telling people after the 12 week scan, my mum and sister already knew, but there wasn't a huge announcement, I just told people I wanted to know as and when I saw them and text my best friends group chat the scan picture.

Phoned or text people I'm close to and said "I'm pregnant"

The whole dog with a chalk board round it's neck this is so cringe and cheesy. Full of self importance. Not for me I'm afraid.

Have a pretty self obsessed relative that got PG and found out we had been told by someone else before she got a chance to tell us. She went ballistic at the secret teller (it's annoying when people tell your secrets but come on 🙄) However funniest part is that she messsged us with something along the lines of "I'm so sorry you had to find out that way! We had something really special planned to let you know and now it's ruined for you" 😂😂😂😂

Haha, listen love, I've got my own kid tangled round my legs, I've got a full time job, a house that hasn't been cleaned in weeks and I have slept about 46 minutes in the last ten years. Do you really think I'm in anyway bothered how I find out you're having a baby?

Obviously I didn't say that but I thought it.

@Mangotango123 I'm planning something similar. We are (hopefully, if it sticks) having an early 8w scan the week before Mother's Day, so we are Going to get grandma cards to put with our Mother's Day cards with a scan pic in 🙂

Yes it’s a little longer than when we would have liked to have told them, but only by a couple of weeks so I figured it wouldn’t hurt to wait. Really cute idea :)

Thank you guys, some of your ideas are great. I like the one with the dog 🐶. We’ve decided to send some personalised cards to close family... they have a scratch card section so when the person scratches it, it will reveal that we are pregnant. Good luck with all your announcements xxx
